this was exactly what i needed! im flying for the first time ever AND doing it alone this january, never stepped foot in an airport. its nice to be able to see someone actually navigate it so its not so scary feeling! awesome little walkthrough! :)
The "Train to City" is the Union-Pearson Express, it runs every 15 minutes between Pearson and Union Station downtown. It makes the trip in 25 minutes with 2 stops along the way.
The reason there's no terminal 2 is because when terminal 3 was built, there had already been much older terminals 1 and 2 that were later torn down and replaced by one super terminal which is the current terminal 1. That's how they ended up with terminal 1 and 3 but no terminal 2.
Just flew with them for the first time this month from Winnipeg to Toronto. Really good experience and we had gotten a great seat sale. I think you need to luck out on sales because normally Flair is cheaper. But if we can go with Porter I think we'll do that again next time. We flew Flair back home and we had all missed Porter.
Smashburger is really good especially if you're looking for safe, gluten-free options and the portions are good for what you pay. We split two meals between our family.
When Terminal 2 was killed, they never renamed Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 because that would mean all the airlines and (and probably travel agents) around the world would have to change their ticketing and reservation systems to reflect the change. Just easier to keep them called T1 and T3.
The original terminal (Malton) was Terminal 1. It was later joined / supplemented with the new Air Canada Terminal 2. In much later years, the all-new Terminal 3 was added for International flights. Now, I haven’t been up to the Toronto airport in years, so I can’t really say what happened to the Terminal 2 building. Now you’ve got me curious Dan! 😊
Terminal 2 was built and owned by Transport Canada. T2 was built in modules joined but designed to self contained various carriers. The original plan was to relocate most of the T1 carriers to T2 but there were no takers so Air Canada relocated as both Air Canada and Transport Canada were essentially Federal cousins. T 3 also housed Canadian Airlines with a substantial domestic sector
Because They Broke Down Terminal 2 at Pearson Airport a lot time back in 2004 and Build Terminal 1 instead, that was the newest Terminal Now. I know that because my mother used to work for Air Canada Before she retired there. She Worked in Terminal 2 First Before Terminal 1 and That was all Air Canada Airlines. Terminal 3 is WestJet and Other Airlines.
I can't say I am impressed with the food at Pearson - never really have been. It could be a lot better. I'd go for a smash burger is available!! 🙂 Hey the food looks good!! Airport prices but not bad!!
@@thoughtsontravelandlife As far as I know it is currently getting updated to accomodate the REM and a bigger space for car pick ups and drop off, because it is congested like hell right now. They even talked about adding another terminal.
Mississauga is NOT a suburb of Toronto. Mississauga is an amalgamation of a bunch of 'former' towns in 1968: Clarkson, Lakeview, Cooksville, Erindale, Sheridan, Dixie, Meadowvale and Malton. Port Credit and Streetsville (where I was raised) amalgamated with the Town of Mississauga in 1974 to become the City of Mississauga. Mississaugans do NOT appreciate being called part of Toronto, or worse, Torontonians! It's a touchy subject. 😂

Love this airport despite the hassles inherent in any busy airport. Europe and the U.S. have many more delays. Fabulous tour Dan!!
Thanks Dan for the info. I am a senior living here in Toronto Canada for the last 31 years. But wud love to know more about our airport.

Very nice lady who helped you. The options don't sound great! Post security you should have some decent choices Dan!! 🙂
The Mississauga skyline is really cool (and confusing to tourists).
@@algonquin91 It sure is growing quickly!

Thank you. And I’m also a Pink Floyd fan.
I was hoping you would show us the Union Pearson Express train at Terminal 1

I wouldn’t necessarily say Porter is a budget airline its very premium compared to other Canadian airlines.
Termianl 2 was demolished in toronto aiport
Montreal's airport used to be the busiest in Canada.
Montreal's airport really needs an upgrade. It's too small for a city this size.
That was some time ago.
probably in the 70's

haha I'm originally from the Niagara Region and even I knew that comment would be a sore point. I never considered it a part of Toronto.
Be careful filming. Canada has strict privacy laws.
I avoid airports and stay home.
