    let me say this as a former lash tech. the glue is nail glue with black dye in it. the companies will train you and tell you it’s not the same but if you read the ingredients it’s EXACTLY the same so if you love your lashes make sure your lash tech has a steady hand but when you get red burning itchy eyes it’s a chemical burn from the super glue fumes.

    Can I just tell you , you are absolutely beautiful! I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm 58 and having a hard time growing old gracefully. I love all your tips especially about hair color. I color my hair blonde as well, was not liking how it was turning golden and my hairstylist put a chemical on it and broke 6 inches off of my hair!!! I now have to wear extensions. Now looking at you and realizing how beautiful golden blonde really is, I will never make that make that mistake again. If it starts turning golden, I will now embrace!

    I stopped coloring my hair 2+ years ago and it is one of the best decisions I’ve made. My hair is a pretty silver and looks like it has grey highlights and lowlights. People ask if it is naturally this way. I LOVE it! Lisa what lip products do you have on? Very pretty!

    I have not had my nails done at the salon in like 6 years. My sister got a bad toe infection at the nail salon and had to have both her big toe nails removed from the nail shop using dirty tools. Then, her daughter got an infection on her toe as well. So I was like, nope, I will do my own nails. I stopped coloring my hair a couple of years ago. I just want to embrace my natural hair and for it to be healthy.

    • @wanda18221
      @wanda18221 Рік тому +2

      So true, I had a niece that had to take a liver endangering medication for a big toe infection that she got from a salon. It didn’t work and they had to remove the nail. I rarely go to the salon but I went a year ago and almost immediately noticed white spots on my toe nails that was some type of fungus. I got rid of it by stopping all nail polish and spraying alcohol on them daily for a few weeks. Thank God it went away but my sister in law says I was lucky to get rid of it and she thinks I was able to get rid of it because I eat a very healthy plant based diet. No more salons for me.

    • @michellebussell9831
      @michellebussell9831 Рік тому

      @Wanda Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you are ok. The doctor told my sister her nails may not grow back. I got third degree burns at the nail salon once when I dipped my foot in the water and it was so hot I had blisters and then another time I went to get my eye brows waxed and they had the wax way too hot. It burned my eyelid off. I told her it was too hot, but she still put a wax strip on and ripped it off. So you can imagine the pain and scar. Different salons. They still made me pay both times. Nope, I'm sorry feeling pretty is important to me, but I prefer to be natural the way God made me. Saves me a lot of money and pain now.

    Lisa, hello, as a hair stylist- I often think that your stylist should color your roots all over at a level 7 neutral- I apologize- not trying to sound rude- but many times your roots are “hot” which means lighter than they should be- just a thought.

    • @Sbw1976
      @Sbw1976 Рік тому +1

      @@margottfon330 Hi- it depends on the person and style on how much new growth or “roots” need to be toned so that the color looks more soft and natural. Because our heads are warm the roots tend to lighten more than the rest of the hair causing what some stylists call “hot roots” - usually a toner or semi- permanent color is put on the roots.

Even our mothers generation had a facelift or nothing it seems so to have so many options available it’s really personal preference..yes sometimes you try and don’t like it but again it’s up to you and whatever anyone chooses to do or not do I do not think anyone should be shamed for the choices they make to their own bodies ! I had to write in response to a recent video, as the video I just listened to was from one year ago...reinventing your life. I started watching your videos because you really helped me get going with Carnivore. Sometimes I couldn't relate because buying Valentino shoes is for "rich" people. But then I had to correct myself. "Who told you that?" If we have trouble disciplining our eating, why do we think that defeated thinking can somehow promote us in life. I was such a negative thinker and maybe that is what caused me to marry a man who mistreated me. But thank goodness bad stuff has an expiration date. You are 21 years younger than me and you so inspire me because your heart's desires have been so much like mine. I'm glad you pushed through the idea that you were too old at 50 to do a fashion video. I am 75 and perhaps nature has been gentler to me than others my age, but always, always I still have to motivate myself to dream and enter the realm of what might seem impossible. Right now I'm not partaking of salons, but there is always tomorrow. God's thoughts toward us are peace (nothing missing, nothing broken) and not evil to give us an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11. Often I have to remind myself of this truth and get my thinking on track. Honestly, you are helping me to pull myself out of any shame or reminders of a difficult past. The future doesn't have to be patterned after what once was. History doesn't necessarily have to repeat.

    Loved Obagi; had the most beautiful skin however in Texas they made them take out an ingredient which changed everything; it no longer did what the other did; Had my eyebrows bladed and have loved it; my eyebrows had alot of spotty areas that had no hairs; a result of chemo in the past; it is great no having to put on eyebrows every morning; I use the Kenzie primarily on my face; no much hair but once in while I get a few; this takes care of them at least for the several months. I think we all have probably done something; I have recently started the ZIIP and the red light mask; I can really see the difference in my skin.

    My nails grow like crazy and have since I was a kid. so, I get a gel manicure every two weeks to get them cut, maintain the cuticles and never have chipped polish. For me, it's a time of relaxation, especially when I get a pedicure added every 4 weeks. In Florida, a pedicure is a must. I'm lower maintenance with my hair. Let my bleached blond grow out during Covid. Shocked to find I have very cool, white streaks growing in. Now, the fortune I spend to have my straight, fine hair dry cut into the perfect style for me, is another subject. Thank goodness I'm not spending money to lighten my hair anymore. I wish I had the patience for false eyelashes. Two days of failure in and I give up. Love your honesty. P.S. I used to get over twenty injections of botox up my neck and across my forehead for migraines. Glad I could give that up with new medication and glad I started using sunscreen at age 18. Paying off at 67. No wrinkles in my forehead.

    I had micro blading on my brows and will NEVER do it again nor recommend it, I thought it hurt like a son of a gun and the end result was not my favorite. My daughter however loved it and said I was a sissy:))

    Loved this! Thanks for sharing your maintenance and experiences (fails). xoxo -- wanted to add, the Kenzzi didn't work well for me and I think I got a bad one. I did use it for the 12 week time but didn't get much of a result. Then it started to spark at the outlet when I would plug it in, that bothered me so much that I stopped using it. I want to try again (that was 2 years ago), but when trying to plug it in it did the same thing. I lost money on that purchase, oh well!

    Hi Lisa I loved this video. So nice that you are so honest. I also dislike appointments. I do my own nails now after years of getting them done. You are beautiful. Going to rewatch this video and try some of the products. I do Botox and fillers. Going to do some lip filler this time also. Thank you for the nice chat like having coffee with a friend. 💕

    Great information thank you Lisa. I made a list! I too hated Botox round my eyes. Never had filler but it’s on the list as the ones you had still look really good. I agree teeth make the most difference. I had the works done over three years (veneers, crowns etc) and the difference is night and day. I shall have to try again with lashes.

    Lisa, I love that you are open and very comfortable in your own skin. I also love that you pamper yourself. Thank you for sharing the good and different types of beauty. I do want Botox, that part you shared is very informative. Thank you. Please continue making videos! 😊

    Lisa as always you are a brave soul to open up so much about what you have had done or the things you continue to do. I know a lot of people who have botox done. It really isn't that big of a deal anymore. A lot of this stuff costs money so I guess it depends on what you can afford as well. Even some hair dressers are kind of crazy with the prices they charge and some don't even blow dry. They have someone else do it. I usually don't go back if they do that. Anyway, it was a fun and honest video. Love it. Thanks to all the people that shared in their comments as well.

    I also wore Invisalign for about 2 years. Do you still sleep in your trays? I do, but only once a week. They drive me nuts. But I’m so thankful I now have beautiful straight teeth.

      i think she has threadlifts from time to time. thought she would tell us that on this video but i didnt see it. maybe i missed it. if you look at her video from 4 months ago "friday haul sneak peak tory burch sneakers" you can sorta tell she may have just had it done. it settles in later but i think you can tell in that video and a couple of others around that same time frame.

    Honey you are so beautiful, but I felt like you were talking a foreign language. I’ve never had any of these things done, & felt left out 😂. I’ve been very fortunate to have a good genes, a natural strawberry-blonde with long nails. Now that I’m in menopause, noticing a lot of things changing, especially wrinkles & dry skin. Really would love to try Botox, but as a teacher, can’t afford it. Sucks 🙄
