- WHEEL OF TIME fan movie "Flight From Shadow" chronicles the events in the "Four Kings in Shadow" chapter from The Eye of the World, the first book of Robert Jordan's bestselling series.
After narrowly escaping an ambush in the town of Whitebridge and walking for days on the Caemlyn Road, Rand al'Thor and his companion Matrim Cauthon seek rest and shelter in the Dancing Cart-Man Inn at the village of Four Kings. After bargaining for one night's room and board with Saml Hake, the duo soon discover that the servants of the Great Lord of the Dark are hot on their heels. Deceived by Hake and his henchmen, Rand and Mat find themselves trapped in a storeroom, forced to use the forbidden energy of the One Power for their very survival.

And this event is in the Episode 3 of the series.. this short film is book accurate. and in the series i got confused, they changed a lot of things while at four kings..
This part of the story in Amazon’s show was absolute garbage just like the rest of the show compared to this faithful fan made actual adaptation.
Good fun. I especially like the portrayal of the Fade. And the Swords are on point. Well done.
Yes! I can't stand what was done with the fades! They could never be mistaken for human, and the books makes a point of that being possible without seeing there face.
Oh, if only I could believe the upcoming show will end up being as good as this fanvid. I come back here and watch it every now and then, and every time, I'm sad because it's just a vid and not a series.
I was right. The show is an abomination. Please make more of these vids. They're much superior to the garbage Amazon is spewing.

Wot had the potential to be as good as game of thrones or better but they reduced it to she hulk level😢 if only fans like the ones making this fanfilm made the series

Think what they could do with a zero added to the budget. Its amazing how Amazon manages to do all the wrong things (except mayby the Trollocks and the look of the architecture of Shadar Logoth).

The production design that went into these sets is stunning for a fan film. Imagine being in a room with this many people who even know what Wheel of Time IS.

A very decent effort. Way better than Winter Dragon. How the hell is a fan film better than something made by an actual TV channel?!
I think because these people were probably passionate about it, while the other one was just created solely to "keep the rights" or some other legal mumbo jumbo if I remember correctly. I think they probably wanted it to be so bad that it was never even considered as anything serious, ie, the less people that saw it the better..

And, think about how good this was, and having it be a fan film! A small, shabby crew of book fans came along and decided to have a side project for a series they thought was good. And yet, this is still AMAZING!! Just think about that, for a moment. Can you imagine how amazing everything will look, the cities, the shadowspawn, the one power, DUMAI'S WELLS, when this show has millions upon millions of dollars for budget, an experienced, vast and talented cast and crew, the best that money can buy.... I'm just so excited!! It's going to be so amazing!!
Lack of budget for the pilot and fox wasn't really behind it full throttle. Man did they really screw up.
I really did enjoy this production. It kept me rivetted and it's one of my favorite parts of the book. The dialogue and interactions are very well done though the opening with the black ajah was overacted. I like how they bring elements in that did not occur until later books such as the dice effects and Matt 's gambleIling. I wish these producers had made more episodes I definitely would have watched them.

Honestly... This is proof of the possibilities of adaptation. I would rank this fan film better than any of their episodes. Budget doesn't make story-telling.
By far better than the Amazon series
This isn't professional by any means but the passion and evocation of the spirit of the WoT is 10000x better than the Amazon show calling itself Wheel of Time

The Mydral & the shots of the Dice were just 👌
& the buildings, clothes and actors were also very well chosen and played...personally.
I hope Amazon can do atleast this good!

This was very well done! Awesome effort and I can’t believe you succeeded actually adapting this part of the story on obviously a slim budget but Amazon with all it’s millions and even Brandon Sanderson consulting couldn’t make something even half as good or respectful to the source material.
No. They ignored Sanderson's advice due "views and style differences". All ended up in the cringeworthy and docile "let's agree to disagree" Bs.

fantastic in tone and understanding of the world, cinematography was great for what it was trying to do, it was very heavily affected by budget, but it did fantastic things for what it had. The direction at times was fantastic. maybe a little too over the top goofy at times particularly with the stacking of the dice and the executioners hammer which just felt too comical, also the two cronies were a little goofy. BUT I LOVED the attention to detail and the idea of mat and rand reluctantly playing music and the juxtipostion work. I could make a great list of fantastic elements. This was made with love through and through. And the good heavily outweighs the not so good
Yes we all visualise the books differently, but you know what , this was great fun and whets the appetite
Watching this, I get the same feeling I get reading the books. That pretty much never happened with the Amazon show. So thank you.

All the nitpicking on the details of this fan made production makes me wonder and worry about what's to come with Amazon's show. This is really good and i loved every minute of it!
I thought it was amazing and to be quite honest as a fan of anything wheel of time I am happy to have any level of creation that lets me see my beloved story come to life!!!
I don't have a lot of faith in how good Amazon's is going to be. Not crazy about the casting, and the interviews they've had with showrunners aren't filling me with confidence. I'd rather see THIS as a series than what I think's going to be coming out of Amazon. The casting in this vid are spot on, and I love the feel of it. It feels like the books.

I've been a wheel of time fan for years and I've just found this. AWESOME. I love one power effects and the storyline. The overall production was amazing.
Myrdraal looks so good in this.
Honestly this is even better than season 2 to be honest not professional but better. They even got Rands sword much better, the environment is bright and even brighter than the tv show like I wanted it to be, the characters look like the books. It’s insane how a 27 minute movie is much better than a couple hours tv show.
They should make more fan films! The myrddraal in this was so much more book accurate

Objectively 10x more passion and tonal accuracy to the texts than Rafe’s fanfiction
Rafes isn't fan fiction, its an abomination. I honestly saw nothing in the show that communicates to me Rafe cared at all about WOT. It feels like someone half ass read the spark notes of the books while hammered, slacked off for a month, then wrote a script he wanted to write based on the little he remembered from the drunken night a month ago.
This has better a better Production value and acting than the 10 million per episode crap Amazon is currently putting out. The script might be a little shaky but well done, this is fantastic!

The feel of this episode felt very true to the books, in general. I especially like the intro with the Faceless One & a cocky Red Sister. If I knew more Wheel of Time fanatics, I would recommend this to each and every one!

I appreciate this very much considering it's fan made. The cinematography, musical score and the shots where well thought of, compared to Winter Dragon. Some of the acting and the script writing could've been better but remarkable overall. Can't wait for Amazon's take on this...

Well I grant you I never read all the way through the WoT books, but on it's own merits this was a quality production. If it was on Kickstarter now, I'd glady contribute as much as I could. Good acting, very good sets and storytelling, as well as good costumes and effects - this is a 4+ star (out of 5) production at least. Thank you to all the people that worked on it and those who helped finance it to entertain us, you're all awesome!
