@@UnravelingthePattern This is well done. Bravo 👍🏽👍🏽 I think a complimentary video for this video and any other like it would work well. The complimentary video would be capture/s of real time battle sequence gameplay with players reenacting the battle using for example the Total War series. Someone with the resources to do so could even make a likeness of the map of Emonds Field or Caemlyn or Tar Valon as the battle map and the combatants that fight there with the proper modding tools.
Tam Al'Thor and Abel Cauthon went to Tar Valon to see if they could find word of what happened to everybody. When they returned without answers, they found things had changed, they'd been labeled Darkfriends by the Children of Light and so stayed in hiding. It's literally a single throwaway line in the Shadow Rising, and I'd have forgotten it completely had I not read it the other day. Extremely minor point in an excellent video. Thank you for taking the time to make these.

The Emond's Fielders learn a bit of their history and culture through the story of Aemond's ride and the battle that took place at Aemond's Field.
Holy cow the level of quality here is unmatched. Your commentary and maps were excellent and Lauren's vfx looked epic. Instead of suggesting the obvious battle that everyone is going to recommend, please please do a break down of the Battle of Cairhien in book 5. Seriously though back to this video: Perrin's story arc in the Two Rivers in book 4 is hands down my favorite story arc in the series. I cry every time I read Perrin's speech at the al'Seen farm and about the women charging in to hold the line during the battle. This video got me caught back up in those emotions. So thank you.
Same for me!!! As soon as we saw the Falcon coming bk from the north, some sand irritated my eyes, and all the emotions from the book stuck in my troat! No matter how many times I read TSR (n it's been over 15 times for sure by now!), I have to stop reading again n again, not seeing the words on the page! It's even getting worse as now I anticipate the emotion n it seems to start earlier every reading! Well, the visual of this vid makes it even more vivid!!! Great work both of you! Oh and on top of Carhien, I'd like to see Rand's attack of the Seanchan, especially with how Weiramon blunders (or not... lol)

@@danicic87 me too! I just finished The Shadow Rising and it was the first time I cried reading WoT. The spirit of the Two Rivers people really got to me. I am weak to plots showing people coming together and sacrificing for a greater cause. The most inspiring moment for me was when the women came to join the battle and held the line. This is so cool! My bf told me about this but I had JUST started a reread of TSR and wanted to wait until I got to this scene to watch! So helpful! Just one little nitpick- at 4:35, you say that Mat and Rand were told by the Finns to go to Rhuidean..." but Rand clearly states to Mat while they are standing and looking at the fog surrounding the city that the Finns never mentioned Rhuidean to him at all. The Shadow Rising, Chapter 24 "Rhuidean".... "Rand, maybe that's the answer they give everybody. Those snake people, I mean. Go to Rhuidean. Maybe we don't have to be here at all." I had the impression that any large force entering the Two Rivers was via Taren Ferry. Small groups may be able to cut through the Mountains of Mist from the west, but I thought there were no crossings on the Manethendrelle or the Tarendrelle, except for Taren Ferry. The animation seems to show the Whitecloaks coming from and going to the south, across the Manethenrendrelle and through the Forest of Shadows.
Its obvious that Jordan knew tactics. Many of these battles flow and move naturally just like combat in our history. He is still one of the best in this area.

I know this is from last year but just found you through The Dusty Wheel's after-show. I loved this video. I have so much catching up to do. I have read the books but it's been a minute so I am thinking of starting over. I am visually impaired so I do read audio versions. I'm loving the show so far. I'm no longer sad that I don't have cable tv anymore.
I'm a computer science y13 A-level student, and for my coursework, I've decided to make a WoT themed tower defense game based on this scene. I'm trying to make the game as enjoyable to us fans of the series but I'm not an amazing programmer and I'm new to unity lmao, I tried pygame but it wasn't rly right. Anyway thank you Nae'Blis this video came at the perfect time and has rly helped me grasp the full scene :)
That sounds awesome! Let us know when it's ready to playtest 😁. I've actually dabbled in Unity quite a bit myself but I'm a terrible programmer. I started developing my own VR game prototype using something called playmaker!
Just reading that phrase gives me chills every time. What worldbuilding and foreshadowing, to be able to signal a whole new era of warfare in two words.
I'd like to see anything that Isn't Dumai's Wells its the most known about battle. Siege of Cairhien would be fantastic the scale and multiple simultaneous events of the battle at the walls and the battles on the outskirts with Mat would be great to see.
I really want to see a break down of the Cleansing of Saidin. Huge forces of channelers from both sides all converging on this one point where the greatest movement with the One Power of all time is going on. A huge battle of channelers and Forsaken all around this one event. It's one of my favourite chapters in the series. Falme and the Last Battle would be amazing too.
This was fantastic! Excellent work. Can’t wait to see more. Battle at the siege of Cairhien would be awesome as well as battle during the cleansing of Saidin, and the smaller battles of the last battle (retreat from Shienar, battle of maradon, battle of caemlyn, etc.). This battle happening at the same time as the events in the Aiel waste and the events down in Tanchico are probably the reason why The Shadow Rising is one of the most popular books in the series. It was fantastic.
Early on in the books Perrin was my favorite, this battle being the peak of awesome for me! I'm a bit sad Jordan didn't continue a storyline where Perrin could have reforged Manetheren, to me it seems like such a natural fit! (especially since Perrin ended not doing much for a couple of books anyways)
Very well done. _All up and down the line, as far as Perrin could see, the women were there. Their numbers were the only reason the line still held, almost driven back against the houses. Women among the men, shoulder to shoulder; some no more than girls_ Malden next, _please._

Most definitely my favorite scene from the entire series. I loved it so much and I really appreciate this video. At the beginning of the series I set myself as Perrin and I felt so immersed in this scene, never read anything better. I remember it was very upsetting whenever the POV changed 😂
Good stuff! I've already been thru the series a couple times, but I'm a lot more visual than I am textual, and this broke things down really well. And the quality of the graphics is outstanding. Subscribing.
As much as I love the other battles in the series, this is hands down my favorite. I bawl when Perrin learns of his family, I cheer when the women join the line. This whole arc is magnificient.
SO WELL DONE!!! Thoroughly enjoyed it all. The battle breakdown is great, and the little details like Loial carrying Gaul, and the wedding celebration audio were adorable touches.
this was a great break down, and explanation, and though I have read the series many times, it still gave me chills thinking about the battle again. thanks, and keep up the great work.

Awesome video! My favorite Nae'Blis video by far. Gave me goosebumps! Since everyone is going to say Dumai's Wells, I would suggest doing Rand and the Aiel taking The Stone of Tear in chapter 55 of The Dragon Reborn. That was probably my favorite moment of the whole series.
Wow this was fantastic, you both did a great job! I would love to see a version detailing some of Mat's battles and tactics. I had been thinking his diversion of the Seachan army out of the Aldavene Gap to escape Altara, his harassing tactics as well as his expert troop deployments would make for a great animation.
Nice! I'd love to see Rand's Battle with Couladin against the walls of Cairhein. And Mat's campaign against the Seanchan when the band was protecting Tuon.
I'm reading WoT series for the first time and am presently finishing up book seven. This really helped to unscramble some of the stuff I've read. There are so many things going on by so many characters that it is hard to keep straight, especially when it takes a month or more to read each book, due to job/life/etc. This was great! Thanks!
I'm read going through all the books I saw this is really awesome to see him you know a visual representation of what I've always depicted in my brain thank you very much
Light! What a great video. I’ve read the series so many times that I felt like I was just speed reading the actual book. The animations worked so well with the storytelling. I can honestly see all of the images I play in my mind as I read but you’ve both helped to expand my minds eye a bit with the aerial view. I feel like a Great Captain with a sky window spy window gateway.
I love this. I just recently finished a reread (relisten, actually) of TSR and the Battle of the Two Rivers is my favorite part of the second half of the book. I can't wait to see this unfortunately on screen. I'm fact the battle along with the Finn doors, the Aiel history, and Elayne getting drunk are the reason why TSR is in the top of my favorite books. There are a lot of emotional scenes such as Perrin finding out about his family and the Tinker's sword that get my eyes watering everytime.
This was very well done, and I appreciate the correct pronunciations of names and locations! You should collaborate more and do more battles! I'd be interested in seeing the cleansing of the Power by Rand. That event in the book always seemed a little rushed to me, and somewhat disjointed. I'd love to see an animated map of what took place and when.
This battle was my favorite from all the books I've read. It had so many layers (blood of manetherin) and allusions (300 trojans) which made it a very enjoyable and emotional read
this part in the books were my favorite part and still is, and also it still makes me laugh in happiness at the end of it. its so amazing and well written
This was truly excellent. I would love to have the same overview for the battle on the Fields of Merrilor. It was so epic, with so many players and key moments, that it was hard to keep track. Please consider doing this.
small small small critique -- at the 3 minute mark, the map legend includes #6 Perrin's scouting location, but with the zoom in, the actual spot on the map disappears out of frame so quickly, I was convinced it was missing until I re-watched three times. As a map lover, these were really great to see though! I love seeing the al'Thor farm and the waygate and the sickhouse. aaaaaand, I just realized the two rivers map can be purchased! How cool is that?!
The battle that Mat orchestrated with the Death Watch Guard to protect Tuan would be great! "Looose..." Dumai's Wells and the cleansing of Saidin are also a must!
Oh yes!!! The only complain I have about Ituralde is that we see too little of him too late in the series! I'd love to see more of him in the show, earlier ofc to make sure we get to him! Lol
@@UnravelingthePattern It's good if you're already hyped by this ! Seeing the level of animation on this video, I would love to see more of that on the Battle of Falme. 😊 Besides, even if it's early in the series, there's still a lot of background info : involvement of the Seanchan, explaining what the forerunners are, Turak's and Suroth' personal stakes on one side, and involvement of the Whitecloaks, Geofram Bornhald's and Jaichim Carridin's opposition on the other hand. Not to forget the historical background of Arad Doman and Tarabon fighting over the Almoth Plain. And add to the pot our heroes' different quests. What a mix !
This is such a well done video. This is definitely one of the high points of the early books and a great payoff for the Perin and Faile relationship that can be frustrating at times.
Awesome video! I listened to the audiobooks and had a hard time understanding alot of the tactics/ strategies emplyoyed in the battles so this was sick!! Thanks heaps

I can honestly see all of the images I play in my mind as I read but you’ve both helped to expand my minds eye a bit with the aerial view. I feel like a Great Captain with a sky window spy window gateway.
This was awesome! Battle of Malden next. And battle of darluna. And of course dumai wells.
Dear sweet Elayne, I loved that part too.
Great guys. Absolutely awesome video, I hope you will continue to collaborate on more videos. You are honoring Ranland.
Brilliant video. The visuals are exceptional and really help to give a grasp of events and the scale of the map. Really, really good
This was very well done, and I appreciate the correct pronunciations of names and locations!
You should collaborate more and do more battles! I'd be interested in seeing the cleansing of the Power by Rand. That event in the book always seemed a little rushed to me, and somewhat disjointed. I'd love to see an animated map of what took place and when.
This was awesome!!! Gotta see the Battle of Dumais Wells!!
This was a very nice video, Thank you Nae'Blis and Unraveling the Pattern for making this video.
This is a brilliant video. If you could please do all the major battles. This is really quality work loved every minute of it
That was awesome 👏 hope there’s more to come
Excellent production & presentation. Please do the battle at Lord Algarin's manor.
LOVE THIS!!! Great job both of you!!!
Please keep these coming!
ALL THE BATTLES!!!
Absolutely bloody brilliant work Nae’blis & Lauren!!! Please do the Battle for Falme
Battle for Cairhien sometime!
This battle was my favorite from all the books I've read. It had so many layers (blood of manetherin) and allusions (300 trojans) which made it a very enjoyable and emotional read
Anyone else watching this for a second time just because it's so freaking great?
This was so well done, guys!!! So mad I missed the premiere! Do The Battle outside of Cairhien next!!! I need some Mat action
Same it one of my favorite.
This was amazing! Please do more content like this :)
Nae'Blis you and Lauren killed this. What an awesome video. Great work!
this part in the books were my favorite part and still is, and also it still makes me laugh in happiness at the end of it. its so amazing and well written
Best WOT UA-cam content in a long time! Jordan was truly a genius.
This was truly excellent. I would love to have the same overview for the battle on the Fields of Merrilor. It was so epic, with so many players and key moments, that it was hard to keep track. Please consider doing this.
It will happen eventually. We are in the middle of tackling Falme right now
small small small critique -- at the 3 minute mark, the map legend includes #6 Perrin's scouting location, but with the zoom in, the actual spot on the map disappears out of frame so quickly, I was convinced it was missing until I re-watched three times.
"Looose..."
Dumai's Wells and the cleansing of Saidin are also a must!
Very well done! Maradon is one of my faves, I’d kinda like to see that one
He's a storm. A storm of Light and streams of Power!
Oh yes!!! The only complain I have about Ituralde is that we see too little of him too late in the series! I'd love to see more of him in the show, earlier ofc to make sure we get to him! Lol
I wouldn't mind seeing the cleansing! You guy did an awesome job cant wait to see more
This is really well done, thank you !
The Battle of Falme could also be considered as well as Dumai's Wells and the Battle of Cairhien.
Would be so cool to see the fog, the horn, and the Heroes coming to save the day! Not to mention the fight in the sky.
@@UnravelingthePattern It's good if you're already hyped by this ! Seeing the level of animation on this video, I would love to see more of that on the Battle of Falme. 😊
Besides, even if it's early in the series, there's still a lot of background info : involvement of the Seanchan, explaining what the forerunners are, Turak's and Suroth' personal stakes on one side, and involvement of the Whitecloaks, Geofram Bornhald's and Jaichim Carridin's opposition on the other hand.
Awesome content guys! I enjoyed this immensely!
Awesome video! I listened to the audiobooks and had a hard time understanding alot of the tactics/ strategies emplyoyed in the battles so this was sick!! Thanks heaps
Robert Jordan was a master at writing battle scenes. Loved this battle, "ISAM!!! ISAM!!! Great video. You probably have it in the works already, but if not, please consider doing Dumai's Wells. That is one of my top 5 battle scenes of all time.
The first time I read through this book, this battle made me tear up. Well done!
