Yea.....that pottery is good. I have some effigy pottery from there. I am looking for stuff like that....it is there. There is a chance for a pipe or something real good on that spot.

Rocks I love ARCHAEOLOGY HISTORY how Indians lived and where they lived and came from and how they made their weaponry and how they knew which Stones and Rocks to use and where to find the Rocks and Stones to make what they needed to survive. Rocks you know what I'm saying right sir? Thank you Rocks Cousteau for sharing all you're videos and for all you're information on everything you're finding sir I appreciate all the hard work you're doing to bring everything from the passed history sir!! Nice finds Rocks. Too bad that celt was broken.
The point is a beauty, Rocks. I love the pottery shards, isn't it too bad so few pots survived intact? The Celt and the adze are very nice. And Squirrel Buddy is his usual handsome self!💖
Hey.....Thanks. I will go back here probably tomorrow. It is all rainy here today. I ust went to a spot close to my house...but I found a few artifacts...so it was a good day. This midden is an awesome site....it is just a little but of a drive or I would go everyday
Some nice finds Rocks and Peace to you Squirrel man happy hunting till next time. 🏹
Goodness, that midden really shows you how they lived.. fascinating stuff.
Just went to Flint Ridge Park. Very interesting place. You should go sometime and see where the flint you find comes from. Enjoy your videos Rock.
I have been there 1000 times man
I used to camp and dig arrowheads in the woods not far from there in the 1990's.
DUDE!! That's my favorite adena I've ever seen ya find man. That thing is freakin awesome
You are on fire brother! That point at 8:30 is sweet with lovely patina. I'm playing catch up on episodes and yer blowing me away ⚡🍀
Much appreciated.
👍👍
Thanks for another amazing video. The adventure and wilderness and the commentary was spot on.Really cool tutorial.Good looking bunch of artifacts. That place is loaded.🐿️🐕🦴👍🗽💯🇺🇸
You did extremely well on the shell middle. Enjoyed seeing the pottery that had designs. Also Ikeda seeing the tug boat a n d barges (l worked at Dravo on Neville Island building the tugs and barges til they shut the.pla n t down
Sweet point for sure
I will maybe go back there to this spot in the next few days. It should be re layered a bit where I was digging.
That is a place I could find a pipe or something crazy
That point is beautiful! You're always straight killing it out there. And squirrel man is the best!!! Makes me smile every time
Man whata spot! Ni ce point and so much pottery. That rim piece with the lines in it is sweet. Thanks for sharing so many finds, and Squirrel Man is a real talker🤔😀 didn't know they chattered like that. They always bark and raise heck when huntin or teasin the dogs out back but I never heard all that chatterin. Funny as heck
I love finding shards as much as points. Was out in the Susquehanna today looking, found more shards than I ever have but couldn't come up with a point. Been in a dry slot here NE of Baltimore and the river is low, perfect for hunting. You're in a great spot bud. Can't wait to see what else you'll find.
yea.....that is what it seems like on this spot I am on...seems like only pottery.....for a while...and a few flakes here and there...then boom....a point.
But the thing is...I am sifting. And I am not siting a little. I am sifting truckloads of dirt per day. That is why I am finding a few nice points a trip.
The thing I do is this...if I am finding artifacts like pottery...I look around for a while. Take some test screens. Then find the areas with the most flakes. If I am seeing nice flakes in the screens....it is only a matter of time before you find something nice. that always works for me....and I try to take all the flakes I find out of the sites. So when I am finding more,,,,it is not items I have already looked at in my sifted.
Follow and flakes.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm old so cannot sift a truckload of dirt in a day. But I can go back day after day so eventually get a truckload sifted. Strange that fire rock and pottery was present but not a flake. I'm thinking somebody already hit the spot decades ago, took the flakes for the same reason you stated and left the shards. This area has been searched since the 1920s. Not to be deterred I keep trying. I've found points just none within the last year or so.
Rock on 🎸 🤘
Awesome finds on this site rock. Cant wait to see what all you find when you go back an do some more sifting in that area. Congrats on all your finds in this video. Great video. 😁👍👍
I am going to go as much as I can to this spot. There is the potential for anything there
That Cresap was made from some cool, but unusual material. Great find! We have had a lot of rain down my way and the rivers are up a few feet and muddy. It looks like they are in good shape up your way. Hopefully, I can get back out down here before long.
You ain’t kiddin buddy
That site is amazing 🤩 dude hammer that spot. Exhaust it . I wouldn't be surprised if you land a Jack's reef or some great intrusive mound stuff. Good luck
I’ve been down with a bum knee but I’m seeing a lot of gravel bars on the kanawha river and wondering to myself…self…I bet mr rocks is out in his kayak getting tons of ancient artifacts!
Some of those pottery pieces are really big. That point is definitely a smoker!
You got that right!
Looks like you got some good screens in this one, lots of nice artifacts. That point was killer! Thanks for showing how it’s done. I wish we knew what Squirrel Man was saying.
I take it you aren’t related to the great Jack Cousteau? Great finds. 👍🏻🇬🇧
Wow... Now thats a nice point ! Thats a lot of work, but it paid off. :~)
Yea not bad on that find. It is nice to go to different places and find different types. I have not found to many points like this. The site of the Cresap Mound is right in the area I am sifting in this video in West Virginia. The place the Cresap Adena was named.
@@rockscousteau Didn't you do a video about the Grave Creek Mound awhile back ? I seem to remember you going there. :~)
The red in that material is awesome. That's a heck of a lot of pottery I don't believe I've ever seen that much in an area before. definitely a major camp sight. Squirrel man rocks 🏹
That's a fine point Rocks, I'm surprised you didn't like it! lol
Great trips!!! That’s a great point, you don’t find that material often?? Do you think it comes from that area?
That Cresap point is beautiful! So are the pottery shards. I would love to see a complete piece. I guess they are very rare. The adze i& celt are very cool as well.
That point is gorgeous---and it's the "star" of the video (apart from Squirrel Man) but I really loved the ancient shell pieces too! Great video and am happy you found so many wonderful artifacts.
Thank you very much!
I will get back to that spot this week to do more sifting
Now that’s a Smoker !
I wonder if the Native Americans there ate that drum fish leaving the jaw in with the shells and stuff? Very cool video. Congrats on the great finds!
they would have eaten them if they were here then.....but all of those drum bones I find are modern. They are not pre historic in age.
That point you found is jasper taconite most prominent in the paleo time period in Wisconsin
Yea that stuff after it dried out is almost like rhyolite. It is a little more "grainy" than most of that red and green material I find. Most of it is a little more "waxy" looking. This has some odd color too.....I am clear up in the northern panhandle of west virginia.....digging....so I get some of that Pennsylvania type material some.....a little quartz may show up that far up the river...a slate point......the materail changes or starts to change about at this area of the river.
Rocks, most of the points and artifacts that you find are from thousands of years ago. Do you ever find points or artifacts from the Indians that were from the last 3 or 4 hundred years ago? I know when the white man arrived some of them traded for metal points and rifles but prior to that I'm sure the probable used flint.
SM is so cute
😊
king of the squirrels .
Squirrel man is the cutest!! Late just curious have you ever found enough pieces of pottery to is pottery to glue anything back together? Very very nice finds today !! God-bless!! !
💥😎👍🐿!!
You make me nervous when your washing off the points I always think it's gonna go flying in the water
lol...even if it did....it would be easy to find
But Rocks I've one question please sir!! Rocks have you ever found any MEGALODON SHARK'S 🦈🦈🦈🦈 TEETH or any kind of SHARK'S 🦈🦈 TEETH SIR?? 👍👍🦈 🦈 😃
How can you tell if the shells were used by prehistoric man ? Just curious 🤔
It is much thicker. There was no pollution then....no agricultural runoff. The shells now are thinner than a quarter.
And it is a midden. The shell is in a huge pile under the ground. It is still there because the minerals in the shell preserve everything.....even the bone.
It is an ancient pile of shell and bone and basically trash from an entire village. It is an ANCIENT DUMP.
