    This video provides an overview of how you might go about creating a Reading List, or any other type of data library in Logseq. I try to provide an intro to template, page properties and queries to create a beautiful looking library.
    I hope this helps and you find it useful. Any comments, likes, follows are greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks for watching.
    "Logseq is a local-only, non-linear, outliner notebook for organising yours notes and personal knowledge. Use it to organise your to do list, write your journals or to record your unique life moments.
    Logseq will never store or analyse your private notes. Your data is plain text files in both Markdown and Emacs Org mode. Notes are stored in the local browser storage using IndexedDB and data is and will always be yours."

    Great video, thanks! Very nice library/reading list implementation, I immediately changed mine to something similar.
    By the way, I found that instead of adding a \ to [\[Books]] to remove the template from the list and having to undo that \ every time you add a book, the query can also be modified to something like the following to exclude that template page: {{query (and [[book]] (not [[template]] )) }}. At least that works for me.

    Thanks, this was a great video - a useful example and great pacing. I really like the idea of a general Template page too.

      @@ed_nico Just came across this on Twitter. I love your workflow. I think this can use beyond a book tracker. Good luck with quality work! You deserve more recognition!

    Hello thank you for this Video
    On the Thumbnail next to "Reading List" there is a Symbol/Emoji, do you know how i can add a custom one?

    • @ed_nico
      @ed_nico  2 роки тому

      Hi there. Thank you very much. To add the emoji, in Windows if you click on the page title and then do Windows Key and . (Period) it will bring up the emoji keyboard. If not you can Google an emoji and should be able to copy and paste

    Hi Ed, one question: in 4:01 you are writing the sub-title "content". I tried several times, but it failed to make a template out of all. Always when I make the sub-title, Logseq is creating another block which is not included into the template. Can you help me to understand what I am doing wrong?

    • @YoelaOlson
      @YoelaOlson 6 місяців тому

      I'm not sure if I understand your problem correctly, but I will try. Blocks that you want to be included need to be indented under the "Books" header and when you create the template, make sure you are right clicking on the "Books" header and not the "Meta" one. Hope that helps!
