Dear Sammy, and Tommy, I am Romanian, and I had a chance to visit USA, I was in south Texas, last year, so I know what you usually eat in USA. Our food is the result of many cultures intersection, for so many years (Turkish, Hungarian, Russian, Bulgarian, German), so there is no surprise that you found Romanian food both surprising, and delicious. Basically, you could not stop eating. I truly appreciate the way you present our food. Even I had frequent mouth watering, watching you, so cool ! Thank you for all these promotions of our food culture. Do come back to Romania, I am sure you will be missing many dishes we have.
Waiting for the Romanians to reach the western performance of paying € 3.50 for 100 grams cherries, more exactly 35 euro for a cherries kilogram to give it to their children. Ask yourself how did they get there. Keep cutting your trees and you will get sooner to the Soilent Green
Bucharest, Romania is certainly a tourist destination. Andre and Stephanie were very friendly and they took you to all the in spots of Bucharest. The impression I had from your visit to Bucharest that it must be the most friendly country to visit in the world!

Thank you for coming back to Romania. The Real Italian beer you can find in the Supermercato stores, in Bucharest and the rest of the country. The Birra Moretti that you find in normal supermarkets and bars is made in Romania by Heineken Romania under license. It says on the label. The taste is different from the real italian one. Here is something interesting for the next time you come to Romania: the Vault Bar at the Marmorosh Bucharest ( Autograph collection hotel).

I am looking at this in front of a certain Romanian minority friendly begging near certain homeless right across from a nice Italian restaurant where I am eating near the fans of a well known football team.
It's not Romanian food, but it's a tour of Bucharest, nice to see that you can walk around and find good restaurants, good service, good food, different types of cuisine.. As that's what a big city, a capital should be.
I buy the raw mici meat mix from a Romanian store here by me in Sacramento (California) and I grill them up at least once a week. We have a local friend here that makes the most amazing papnasi. She used to own a restaurant in Romania before moving to the US. And we have plenty of friends who make the Romanian moonshine! :) (Edit: Ciucas beer to end the night - love it! Probably one of my favorite beers. I wish I could get it in the US.)
WOW - you actually went to Piatza Obor! If you had looked up, way up as you went into the market, you would have seen the tenth floor apartment that I shared with my Turkish / Romanian landlady whenever I visited Romania. Life was sweet - and I was never wanting for delicious food. Mici gave me problems, however, like indigestion and inflammatory tooth crises, so I stayed away from them. You sampled the cherries, but did you know that in addition to red Bing cherries and white Rainier cherries, they also have fresh Tart cherries, or Visine, as well as Bitter Cherries? They also have unique vegetables in Romania that I have found nowhere else, like Leustean, or Lovage greens, which are similar to celery greens but with a very full and robust flavor and aroma - traditionally, you chop up fresh Leustean and sprinkle the leaves on hot soups, and my oh my - what a flavor and aroma! Anyway, I was one happy camper when cherry season came around in Romania!
@@SammyandTommyThat's right, Tommy and Sammy! Remember - in addition to the regular Bing and Rainier cherries you get in the US, the Piata Obor also sold fresh Tart Cherries, or Visine, and well as Bitter Cherries as well. When it came to prunes, you also had smoked prunes, and when it came to walnuts, you also had fresh or green walnuts, which were more juicy and tender than normal ones. And when it came to healthy veggies, you had green (and purple) garlic in the early spring, Pasternak or giant Parsnips in the fall and winter (Betcha didn't know that the author of Dr Zhivago was named after a vegetable, did you?) You could also buy Urzici, or fresh stinging nettles, which you could autee up with the green garlic and the Leustean, as well as Stevie (Yellow Dock greens) and Loboda ( a delicious purple kind of greens that you put into soups and stews). Yes, I could just go down on the elevator every morning and Piatza Obor would be right there!

OUR Country Romania always it's been good for tourists..since comunism era...in think few of those tourists some of their grandparents or parents already knew about😉
I'm a Romanian and i haven't used cash for more than 3 years! You can have cash in small amounts like 100 RON or something just in case ( maybe street souvenirs or things like that ), but you can pay everywhere with card.
I usually have a bit of cash on me, but I almost never use it. Shops, pubs, restaurants take card payments. Generally speaking businesses are required to accept card payments; I think only very small businesses are exempt from this. For example some small street vendors will probably take cash only, in case you want to buy souvenirs and other knick-knacks. Speaking from experience and as a point of comparison, you're much more likely to have to pay cash in Berlin than in Bucharest 🙂
After watching this video, I've realized that it doesn't matter where you are but who you are with - quality people in your life is what you really need.

I'm going Bucharest next week, would you suggest carrying cash or can I mostly pay with card?
You can pay everywhere with card
I'm a Romanian and i haven't used cash for more than 3 years! You can have cash in small amounts like 100 RON or something just in case ( maybe street souvenirs or things like that ), but you can pay everywhere with card.
@@AfterDarkPovesti thanks mate, thats good to know. Looking forward all the food in Bucharest.
Are they paying tips with the card?
Faptul ca ai luat Ciucas la final,mi-a crescut inima. :))))Respect
Și berea este formidabil!
Buen video!!
