I like Bad Omens. A lot. I don't listen to any radio, my musical appreciation is based on my UA-cam subscription. Noah's voice and range are incredible, to the point that I actually initially thought they had added a female to their lineup. I am impressed with his vocal growth. The people who say they are overrated are jealous of their success. I can't wait to see what comes next.
I saw Bad Omens live when they were playing with All That Remains and Lacuna Coil. I knew nothing about them and their performance opening with Mercy blew me and my friends away when we had zero expectations. Made us all fans in only 40 minutes, one of my new favorite bands ever.
I went to Beartooth and ADTRs concert last August and knew almost nothing about Bad Omens, and they blew me away and became my favorite band after watching that set so I feel you lol.
Bad Omens are a perfectly solid band that deserves some credit. They are standing out in metalcore with their variety, and it's nice to see a band that's actually trying to be noticed like this for once. It doesn't matter if TikTok helped with the popularity, it helped introduce more people to heavy music. And if more bands like Bad Omens would break into the mainstream radio play, then the radio would be a lot better to listen to.
If anything they're underrated. The Grammys completely ignored them and they've been a wicked solid band since they started in 2016. They're amazing live and Noah is such a nice frontman who has an amazing voice.
Bad Omens is still underrated, they deserve the success they’re having and they’ve been working on this for nearly 8 years! They are not overrated one bit.
I have been following Bad Omens for years and don't have TicToc so i missed the over played part. So my enjoyment has been purely my own. Personally, I love them. They deserve the attention and they are very talented. I'm not going to hate the people who made the TT videos either. The musical landscape is so different from when we where younger. So whatever it takes to get these guys paid so they make more music I can enjoy, I am 100% behind.
I love Bad Omens. I’ve Seen them live twice and their stage presence is wonderful. The most recent show on their Concrete Jungle tour was the first show I’ve ever been to where I heard an entire crowd sing along with an entire set without stopping.
Admittedly I've only heard their most recent album, but going off of that this band is not overrated in my opinion. They have a ton of talent and definitely found a style that helps them stand out in a good way. Hopefully they can continue making music at this level or even better
The fact that you dropped some names of the Bad Omens songs in the final part of the video (bad decisions, miracle, said&done, somebody else and malice) was shocking to me. You gained like +50 points in my eyes with this 😂😂😂 Anyway, I love this band. I discovered them accidentally during summer 2022 with "Nowhere to go". And here I am, obsessed with Bad Omens from day 1. They're amazing as a band and amazing talented guys individually. Nick Folio is a damn monster, Noah's vocals are just divine and Jolly and Nick Ruffilo are amazing. I get that Bad Omens music is not everyone's cup of tea, but objectively you can't say they're not talented
I love this video! I just have one comment, about the "cringey" lyrics you mentioned. I don't think that men were the target audience for those lyrics, and since like you mentioned more and more women are becoming fans of Bad Omens, I'd say it's working ;-)
I was gonna say wouldnt call them awkward at all honestly you dont hear alot of lyrics that are direct like that anymore and thats what pulled me in. All love ❤
I forget how I first heard of Bad Omens, but I remember it was in 2016 when they appeared out of nowhere on a touring lineup with their logo being super small on the flyer. Maybe someone else has a better memory of that than I do. I didn't decide to look more into them until last year. Prior to then, my perception of them was that they were just another metalcore band, but I'd say they're pretty solid. Not my favorite, but much respect to them for being able to break out to a level most bands dream to reach.
From what I’ve heard from their new album I don’t think so. They’re definitely one of the main bands who are gonna carry heavy music into the near future alongside Sleep Token. I should definitely delve deeper into their back catalogue
Corey Taylor himself said it. Sleep Token and BO are “carrying the flag” as he stated. These dudes aren’t scared to go for it, which I love. Love a band that does it all without giving a flying fuvk
I think I'm digging the new video idea, Luke! Keep this series going, I think it can lead to some cool discussion! I think I have a few ideas you might wanna look into (not saying I think these bands/artists are overrated, but discussion might be interesting): No Doubt, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Guns'n'Roses, Alanis Morissette, Lamb of God, just to name a few! Look forward to more!!
I'm not sure if I'd consider their new stuff metalcore since the only song on TDOPAM that 100% fits it is Artificial Suicide, while the rest of the album is more alt-pop-metal with almost purely clean vocals. Genre labels aside, it's a very phenomenal album with a lot of songs that I've played on repeat, and I'm glad they're getting a lot of attention recently (also, mind you I don't use TikTok).
I feel like I've been under a rock because a lot of their content I haven't noticed to the extent being described here, I heard the album last year was great but that was about it. I must ask as a lot of mentions are being made to how they are doing metalcore differently but how exactly are they different? Just a little ambiguous there. Definitely a great new series to breakdown bands like this, look forward to more in the future👌
Thats what i wanna know like theyre great but not that far from other bands if anything its less screaming more clean and softer then most bands (at least from what ive heard)
Bad Omens aren't my favorite band in the world, but they definitely have a lot of potential musically. Death of Peace and Mind had a lot of good tracks on it and I'm interested to see where they go from there. Seen them live 4 times and they always put on a fantastic show. Side note: The band's drummer Nick Folio did a drum clinic in my hometown. He started practicing drums at the Rock School I go to currently. Really nice dude!
Me and my GF got to see Bad Omens at Rocklahoma last year and we almost died in the pit. 10/10 and i have enjoyed the songs of theirs I've heard. Haven't had the chance to listen to a whole album yet but I plan on doing so.
I found Bad Omens w the previous album and was blown away w it ,so much so I pre-ordered the Death of Peace of Mind and was NOT disappointed. Still love this band and they are currently one of my fave .
They are definitely not overrated. I'd actually say they are underrated, TBH. Listen to Enough Enough Now, Dethrone, Limits, Like a Villian ect. You can just listen to Mercy and then the unplugged version of Mercy and see that their versatility is wild. They can do it all. Yall put some respect on Bad Omens' name.
I definitely think they are overrated, I haven't heard one good song from them and unfortunately I feel like the era of good metalcore bands died out about 8-9 years ago.
In terms of their last album, The Death Of Peace Of Mind, I actually think the radio singles (Like A Villain, Just Pretend) are actually some of the weaker songs on that album. If you've only heard those two songs and weren't super impressed, I would still recommend listening to the full album. You might be surprised.
They blew my mind in half an hour with Underoath. Musically, it’s different for the genre and it’s because they understand the electronic and poppy side of it better than any band I think. For those who don’t know, TDOPM was written by Noah trying to make beats out of household items, I think the main sample is a pitched vacuum or something. The fact that they do that pop metalcore and are top tier on both sides of the spectrum reminds me of what made ADTR so special and how they made amazing metalcore and pop punk and blended it. The variety helps a ton too. TDOPM, Nowhere to Go, Artifical Suicide, and The Grey all sound wildly different and that variety in tone and style makes them interesting. With them breaking the metalcore trope of riffs over songwriting, making stuff that sticks with people and has a good bit of variety within themselves, I would say the praise is worth it.
@@RockedNet exactly. And the being proficient in the other genre they’re trying to blend thing too. A great example of that is rage against the machine vs Limp Bizkit. One understands the rap side fully and makes an authentic, smooth blend of both. The other is the band that produced Results May Vary
I personally think that they are not overrated but seeing them live about a month ago I had this feeling that Noah’s voice sounded too perfect. I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure that they have pre-recorded vocals playing the whole time, not so much with the “slower” singing parts but for example in artificial suicide I wondered how much of it all was Noah actually really singing. In general the show was amazing but it was too polished, too calculated. I don’t want to compare Oli Sykes with Noah but since you brought it up on the video, I have to say that BMTH shows are crazy, raw and just a bit chaotic and again I personally think that that’s what Bad Omens are missing, they need to start being a bit more visceral.
@@cambrowndrums I know he is, I was actually at the barricade and I could hear his voice, but once again, he sings a LOT over pre-recorded tracks. That’s my point... I’m not trashing him at all, I like them a lot, I just find that background tracks super unnecessary, he should let his actual voice sound more even if it doesn’t sound perfect. To me that’s actually the beauty of live concerts, the mistakes, the out of pitch slips, the twist and turns to verses
@@cambrowndrums Bro, seriously if you wanna come after me be my guest. But for polished shit just stay home and listen to the album, that’s obviously what you like which is valid... you’re clearly missing the point of my comment. ✌🏼
I feel like hes just protecting his voice and honestly i wouldnt blamd him if thats the case but almost all bands use some kind of pre records or back tracks nothing wrong with trying to keep the sound the way it was recorded but i have to agree with AVP ^ i love just raw unedited non pre recorded live shows it just hits different but they are great regardless
I haven't listened to Bad Omens, just didn't mind the music or intimately listened to said music. I'll listen then form my opinion. It's like me listening to BMTH sometime back, didn't pay attention to certain albums but noticed something and listening to their new material like seeping to you. I'll try to write more comments. More into melody than groove per se. A best mix of both should me interested.
Been a bad omens fan since day1 when glasses houses droped and its insane to see how they went from just a small band that sounds like bmth to this monster band that is now bad omens
They are just getting started still relatively new not even in their prine yet the deciding factor will be the first new single of a new album announcement and then what that album sounds like compared too their most popular
Bad Omens is absolutely not overrated. It's one of 5 Seconds Of Summer's best so-- Oh, you meant the BAND. Well, with them, I only got into them last year with their newest album so I'm not sure how accurate my opinion is here but based on that, they are absolutely NOT overrated. That album was one of the most tuneful metalcore/electronic? albums I've heard... possibly ever, plus Noah Sebastian is a phenomenal vocalist. So much range and he's able to pull all of them off flawlessly. I'm glad _THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND_ was my intro to them like they wanted.
if people think this band is overrated then they just don't want bands to thrive... We finally have an actual unique, fresh take on one of the most stale metal/rock genres ever THAT'S NOT three days grace, and people are shitting on them because they're overplayed on platforms that they have no control over. It's very annoying to see. This series has a lot of potential and it might be a good ice breaker to metal and rock listeners to actually think rather than blindly hate.
Saw them with ADTR and Beartooth. I listened to them prior without much opinion and didn’t really care at the time that they were there. Bad Omens were the best of the three live. (ADTR was great too, Beartooth was fine but disappointed me slightly). Since then, The Death of Peace of Mind has grown on me a ton.
Been listening to bad omens ever since their self titled, Noah’s raspy scream sing kinda drew me in for this band, songs like the letdown, exit wounds, glass houses, and the worst in me, always stuck with me, definitely had moments of sounding like BMTH even in the second album, which is another fantastic one, but with this album I think they more closely resemble too close to touch, which is ironic considering Noah and Keaton were so close as friends and even said Keaton inspired Noah’s songwriting ability
Bad omens in my opinion has a few good songs but overall their subpar compared to other artists but I don't think they're overrated because any positive attention towards the genre is good attention in my opinion it kind of felt like metalcore was dying out like nu metal and I did not want to see that
This was a very interesting video idea. Personally, I don’t think Bad Omens are overrated. They’re doing things different and exposing more people in the genre in a good way
I think some of their fanbase can be annoying but I’ve loved them since 2019 and that continues to now, seeing them for the second time this fall and I can’t wait. I wouldn’t say they’re overrated either
They are rated very proportionally to how great they are. Their success is 100% deserved, The Death Of Peace Of Mind was my 2022 AOTY, what a good album. I can't imagine how good is going to be the next one.
I can name tons of overrated bands like U2 Queen Linkin Park Oasis Foo Fighters Green Day Paramore MCR Blink 182 The Smiths Sex Pistols The Clash Arctic Monkeys The Cure Joy Division The Killers Duran Duran Bring Me The Horizon Kings Of !eon Ramones Gorillaz Florence & The Machine Blur The Stone Roses Avenged Sevenfold Asking Alexandria Ice Nine Kills Muse Coldplay Imagine Dragons Radiohead (now I do like some Radiohead songs but geez the amount of over praise they get is ridiculous) Slipknot (these guys could’ve been better but just wasted potential) I think these are the most overrated bands ever, why these bands all have such a big to huge following I don’t get or understand. As for Bad Omens, who are overrating them?, I’ve also never heard a single song by them.
@Roger Gauvais Well yea it is all an opinion. One mans trash is another mans treasure. As for me and my opinion, those bands I listed don’t impress me and I don’t like those bands. Except for Radiohead who are good just too over praised, and Slipknot who imo could’ve been better than what they were/are
My thing with bad omens is there not really metalcore any more they’ve followed BMTHs style of turning to more rock. There good I just don’t think you can label them as metalcore
I really like this new series! Can't wait for the Fall Out Boy one. If I could suggest a band, I'd say Nirvana. I do like them a lot, but I find them quite overrated.
I found bad omens in a rough patch and it felt like I could relate to their whole album. I don’t care if they are “overrated” they had enough impact I got them tattooed on my knee
I like Bad Omens. I've been awared of them pretty early on when they just started dropping singles for their debut album and while they were very derivative from Bring Me the Horizon, it didn't bothered me too much. Plus hey, it's not a big sin for a band to be derivative, especially early on, and I think they more or less came into their own on their latest album, which I thought was their best. I really like Noah as vocalist, I think their production and writing are defintiely not the lowest tier of metalcore and I am looking forward to whatever they gonna do next. Are they overrated? In my opinion they are not.
I mean as far as lyrical content, isn’t that what a lot of music is about? Heartbreak, whether it be relationships or dark times in your life. This isn’t just in the metalcore genre, I listen to all kinds of music and it’s all over the spectrum in regard to lyrical content about being in a dark place in your mind. If it was about something else, then they would playing into another “trope” in regard to that subject and so on. Can’t please everyone I guess. Dudes are mad talented; Sleep Token the same as well. I just think they don’t fit into the metalcore genre, and I am totally fine w that.
They’re overrated. There are many bands that do the pop/pop rock and metalcore hynrid 0:28 better than them. Noah’s talent as a vocalist is carrying them.
I do think theyre doing something slightly different but not far enough from other bands where id personally think overrated or underrated. If you wanna see and hear different chdck out Nothing More their underrated af and i rarely hear anyone talk about them you should see what they do with a bass guitar at their shows. IN-FUCKIN-SANE!!
I saw your video go up and said, “who are they?” I heard the first song that popped when I searched and “Just Pretend” popped up. I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks
I dont know about Noah "not sounding like other bands" cause he sounds very BMTH influenced ( dont kill me if theyre not in the same genre im not 100%) but all in all theyre a great band and have become one of my favorites. Ice been seeing alot of backtracking though and the shake to his voice is very unique but its making me wanna ask about autotune..
I don’t think they’re overrated or underrated, they’re sitting in that perfect position of success outside of their genre. I like them a bit and they have potential, even if they’re not my favorite in the scene.
I saw Bad Omens recently and they are worth all the hype. I know for a fact most of the hate for them solely comes from the fact that it's women that helped them get thier name around
No, they are not overrated. They are incredible at what they do. Noah and Jolly are incredible songwriters. They are fantastic performers. They are my favourite band ever 🤷🏻♀️
The band is only overrated if you still try to fit them into the "metalcore" box if that makes sense. They have definitely surpassed the genre label at this point I think.
Probably not overrated. I've never heard of them, but given those clips you've played, they don't really sound like my thing. Can't really see myself being a fan. Sorry! 🤷♂️😐
Ive watched like 40 clips of their lives shows and theres a TON of back tracking even vids of him not doing his screams IRL but hes got a god tier that i wouldnt wanna ruin by screaming too much
I don't know what it is I don't like about them, but I do know that I don't like their music at all. Am I saying they're not talented? Of course. It's just not my type of music. That being said, I do think people overrate them, but I might be biased.
Why would someone who is a sheep and only listens to mainstream bands say they are overrated? Makes no sense as they lack self awareness. Only metalheads say they are overrated because we actually see the truth that they sold out.
Also the polls are biased cause i can probably guarantee a decent amount of the people that voted/or commented on them hopped on a band wagon and said no either out of fear of getting bashed on or just to be apart of the hype. If gou pay attention thats been a thing for a long time now. Thats how we get posers. Still i love the band
Yes, incredibly. Spent 10 years as the perpetual first opening band, and suddenly 2022 everyone cares about them bc they dropped a super mid album? So weird 😂
We need to explain the word over rated cause if you read its definition then ask Bad Omens what they think on the subject it would be a different story i think. It means to ovef value something more then it deserves. So youfd basically saying that the masses get to decide what level they get to.
Simple point . Tell me one band that are great live like bo . Muse. Tool.a7 . If they good live, then they deserve a spot. Many bands I love ans then live they suck. Bad omens bring their plugins with all effects into a live show because they care

I saw them in May of last year and they were amazing. It is the best concert I've ever been to 💜🤘🏻
I haven't listened to Bad Omens, just didn't mind the music or intimately listened to said music.
Also, they actually have a stable hit on the rock/alternative chart now and I'm pretty excited about that
They are just getting started still relatively new not even in their prine yet the deciding factor will be the first new single of a new album announcement and then what that album sounds like compared too their most popular
Caught their headline tour in the UK last week. Definitely not over rated!!
Bad omens in my opinion has a few good songs but overall their subpar compared to other artists but I don't think they're overrated because any positive attention towards the genre is good attention in my opinion it kind of felt like metalcore was dying out like nu metal and I did not want to see that
To me, their sound is incredibly generic but I guess that's what people wants to hear.
I can name tons of overrated bands like
U2
Queen
Linkin Park
Oasis
Foo Fighters
Green Day
Paramore
MCR
Blink 182
The Smiths
Sex Pistols
The Clash
Arctic Monkeys
The Cure
Joy Division
The Killers
Duran Duran
Bring Me The Horizon
Kings Of !eon
Ramones
Gorillaz
Florence & The Machine
Blur
The Stone Roses
Avenged Sevenfold
Asking Alexandria
Ice Nine Kills
Muse
Coldplay
Imagine Dragons
Radiohead (now I do like some Radiohead songs but geez the amount of over praise they get is ridiculous)
Slipknot (these guys could’ve been better but just wasted potential)
I think these are the most overrated bands ever, why these bands all have such a big to huge following I don’t get or understand.
CHECK OUT BAD OMENS' COLLAB WITH POPPY, V.A.N! IT'S FIRE 🔥
I really like this new series! Can't wait for the Fall Out Boy one.
If I could suggest a band, I'd say Nirvana. I do like them a lot, but I find them quite overrated.
I saw them with beartooth and now they’re one of my favs
I found bad omens in a rough patch and it felt like I could relate to their whole album. I don’t care if they are “overrated” they had enough impact I got them tattooed on my knee
No, I was a fan and took some friends who didn’t give them a chance to a concert. When we left, their exact words were “Fuck, I get it now.”
Followed them since hearing them on American Satan back in 2018
Ive been continuously impressed with Bad Omens. Still underrated in my opinion.
I was today years old the first time I heard of this Band
You should do Queen next
I like Bad Omens. I've been awared of them pretty early on when they just started dropping singles for their debut album and while they were very derivative from Bring Me the Horizon, it didn't bothered me too much. Plus hey, it's not a big sin for a band to be derivative, especially early on, and I think they more or less came into their own on their latest album, which I thought was their best. I really like Noah as vocalist, I think their production and writing are defintiely not the lowest tier of metalcore and I am looking forward to whatever they gonna do next. Are they overrated? In my opinion they are not.
Yes
I mean as far as lyrical content, isn’t that what a lot of music is about? Heartbreak, whether it be relationships or dark times in your life. This isn’t just in the metalcore genre, I listen to all kinds of music and it’s all over the spectrum in regard to lyrical content about being in a dark place in your mind. If it was about something else, then they would playing into another “trope” in regard to that subject and so on. Can’t please everyone I guess. Dudes are mad talented; Sleep Token the same as well. I just think they don’t fit into the metalcore genre, and I am totally fine w that.
they are not overrated. They are talented and so professional. Success truly deserved.
Most of the ones that are on the cesspool that is Twitter probably never even heard of the band
I saw your video go up and said, “who are they?” I heard the first song that popped when I searched and “Just Pretend” popped up. I enjoyed it a lot.
Thanks
simply amazing. best band ever listened.
Overrated?? Bad Omens are one of the hottest metalcore bands in years
Not overrated just finally getting the credit and recognition they deserved for so long now
Bad Omens are pretty alright, but I’m just so tired of metalcore already.
Oh there for sure underrated but seems like they are on a come up ❤
I don’t think they’re overrated or underrated, they’re sitting in that perfect position of success outside of their genre. I like them a bit and they have potential, even if they’re not my favorite in the scene.
popmetal is what they do. they have a great frontman and singer. terrible lyrics and their melodies and technique instrumentwise is barely average
Definitely not honestly with how amazing noahs voice is they are underrated.
I saw Bad Omens recently and they are worth all the hype. I know for a fact most of the hate for them solely comes from the fact that it's women that helped them get thier name around
Are they overrated?
Yes
The first song on their 2019 album is so good that based on that alone, I can say no
No, they are not overrated.
Underrated actually, death of piece of mind was best album of 2022, yet no one even had it in their top list.
Probably not overrated. I've never heard of them, but given those clips you've played, they don't really sound like my thing. Can't really see myself being a fan. Sorry! 🤷♂️😐
They are far from overrated they are so Damm talented and no one sounds like them
Very underrated, better than most metal bands nowadays
I just don’t understand how this band got so big. Doesn’t do anything for me honestly
Well, from what I hear in the vocals, trying to be a Lincoln park? Or Chester not happening
Saw them live. They sounded too perfect like it was pre recorded
They use a lot of backing tracks
This video should be 10 seconds long. "Are they overrated? No. Not at all." The end.
Not overrated by any means. Wanna know who is? Ghost.
I like them. Not overrated
Yes, incredibly. Spent 10 years as the perpetual first opening band, and suddenly 2022 everyone cares about them bc they dropped a super mid album? So weird 😂
No,I love their band.
We need to explain the word over rated cause if you read its definition then ask Bad Omens what they think on the subject it would be a different story i think. It means to ovef value something more then it deserves. So youfd basically saying that the masses get to decide what level they get to.
I was shown this band by a friend of mine and really tried to get into it but to be perfectly honest i found it to be very unimpressive and boring
Definitely not overrated.
I think they're fine and have a very fresh sound but they're not my thing.
For me yes I think they are just eh to ok but that’s just me
Simple point . Tell me one band that are great live like bo . Muse. Tool.a7 . If they good live, then they deserve a spot. Many bands I love ans then live they suck. Bad omens bring their plugins with all effects into a live show because they care
Short answer, no
Long answer, definitely not
