@@___.51 I wasn't trying to tell anyone what to do, just making honest observations. I'm talking about civilization anyways, a person can still have an enjoyable life in the meantime. I'm against suicide, I mean under all but the most extreme extenuating circumstances, like when someone is terminally ill and suffering, but generally speaking, most people have others attached to them, and so it is wrong to harm the people who love you by taking your life. I'm pretty happy, as people go, I think. I try to maintain a sense of wonder, stop and smell the flowers and enjoy the birds singing. That would be my advice to anyone that is feeling down. Try not to ruminate, put on some music you like, go for a walk in the park or someplace you like, get your mind off unpleasant things. The world is still a beautiful place, even if society is ugly.

The issue is that the majority would never understand that the rest of the world doesn't think like the west and will do whatever it takes to achieve power, so there needs to be a certainlevel of opacity to what the govt is doing with foreign affairs. Title: Right. That's how the real world works. Businesses are run by friend groups not by merit. If Pierre wins and becomes PM for for something like 12 years he won't be leaving office surrounded by people who all hate each other but do phenomenal work...he'll be surrounded by friends and 'yes men'.
I'm a nobody and even first two jobs in life were achieved through connections. My first job in highschool due to my brother. My second job in university due to my dads positive relationship with the owner of that company. There's no way I had a superior interview to all other candidates with superior skills in both of those cases...I was coming in with zero experience and I've never been good at interviews nor am I a sociable person.
So had I no experience and was new in Canada so no connections but after extensive examination of my knowledge the two interested managers were ready to employ me. And I didn't dissapoint. Worked until Nortel divested my branch. So I believe in no skill jobs like politics or administration already full of incompetent people connections are necessary but not in real work like technology or skilled trades.

Many times I got phone calls for jobs because of my dad simply saying that he couldn’t take it on, but that I could probably do it for them. The fact that I COULD do the job meant I’d get another call, unlike government, where incompetence is considered a minor barrier to being granted power over something.

The fact that the NDP and Liberal parties have enough people supporting them to exist as a party at all is concerning when you consider the quality of person in the leadership positions of those parties.
