Everyone’s complaining about how expensive the bike is; I don’t think you realise how expensive the process is to make these things. They’re all made BY HAND, with over 1000 parts. The people making them are trained for a year and a half before they start. It’s fair that it’s expensive.
And it's the fact that people think bikes in general can't be 'that' expensive, yet the options on most of the modern car models on their own (trim colors, screens, etc) that they're looking at are much more expensive than a pretty good Brompton. A lot of people just don't see it as a real transportation investment like they do with a car, and I think that's extremely sad, because a folding bike might just be the one thing that a lot of people need in their daily lives instead of a car, a moped, or whatever (when coupled with decent bike infrastructure, or for longer distances; accessible public transport).
I wish this showed the in-depth automated/robotic wheel balancer/spoke tensioner adjustment that was shown on How It's Made
Very clever.

They dont play like lego with 1000 parts in the factory,, most of the 1000 parts are assembled at other factories,, gearing-brakes aso

Especially if you don't outsource to asia. Brompton-Bikes are also quite lightweight.
Now this bike is so popular in Indonesia..

They're meant to last a lifetime. That way they become bargains.
It is very expensive its price should be $80
Musa Irfan i guess so, but their production speed is very low... so prices really are just at the right play to earn profit
It's made of 1200 parts and is hand crafted and brazed
£80 would get you a pretty shitty bike
