Like you, I was taught by multiple preachers to “ask Jesus into my heart”. And like you, I never had assurance-I never could determine if asking him into my heart “took”. Unfortunately many people don’t understand how detrimental and destructive that unbiblical popular phrase is and of asking Jesus into our hearts does not produce forgiveness of sins or salvation.
