I also started the word plays for my 12 on 12. I prep each project for NYE12x12 by threading the first needle for each start and marking the starting point with the needle. Then I can leave the gate running for each start.
I believe you might be looking for The Needlebug flosstube #56 or 65 for the single thread loop start. I have been using this method since Karen showed it the first time in her flosstube 4 years ago. My slant on the method is to start with my tail on top of the fabric about 3 stitches from the starting stitch so I can ensure the end is stitched over without turning my massive full coverage pieces. The loop anchors really well, but I'm old school enough to want the tail tucked.

Julie I also had Posterior Vitrious detachment Dec 2022. When it happened I thought I was going blind. Made me feel strange at thectimec however over a years time either I have gotten used to all the floaters or they have gotten smaller. On top of that I have keratoconus which causes blurry, double vision in on eye. 🥲 thank goodness for magnifiers. Pray your clears up soon. You two are hilarious. I look forward to seeing your videos. Prayers for better health in 2024.
I have always used the loop start many moons ago when I started to cross stitch. You can only use it though if you are using 2 threads, because you fold one thread in half. I just love watching you both ❤

Hi ladies! I truly enjoyed my morning stitching with you two! I give you credit for trying 12 in 12 - I know I can’t stay awake past 9, so it would be maybe 9 in 9 on a normal New Year’s Eve, but this year that’s when our family celebrated Christmas as it was the only time we could all get together. Anyhow, loved Jane’s Word Play progress - I’ve always wanted to stitch those. Julie - everything you showed was so cute. I love them all. That Satsuma St egg is just so pretty! I’m sorry you both had health issues towards the end of 2023 but I hope 2024 brings better health for you both. Sending love and hugs across the miles.

I enjoyed seeing your 12x12 projects. I am a monogamous stitcher and just this afternoon started Satsuma Street Forest. The colors are out of my normal colors. But I love anything with trees and leaves (which my house is full of) so I'm stitching it.

Hello Jane nd Julie. I wanted to tell Jane I have done the word plays of the month. They are easy stitches. I made them into pillow. Julie-you made me purchase the spool that fits the tiny town pieces. I just started the blooming town this year and have found the DMC colors aren’t always a good match or appear backwards to the picture. I’m going to be doing a lot of my own color choices I think. And who wants three brown and green houses in the middle of a blooming town?? Anyway. I’m excited to see how you finish yours so I have a model to follow.

Hi Ladies…love your videos. I have stitched two Tiny Towns (Harvest and Honey of…) on 32 ct. light taupe lugana/DMC and finished with buttons/loops (used the tiny clear hair bands…got the idea from b.a.blessings stitcher). It works great on the spool (which I use to display mine on, too). Yours will look great…the only one I don’t have is the heart Tiny Town.

So much fun! I pipped two days ahead of 12x12…one day ahead I put the center strand in place for each of the ten new patterns. I was doing a zoom on New Years Eve and knew I would be wrong if I was talking and starting at the same time. Perhaps cheating but I prefer thinking I was organized. Happy 2025!

You ladies always make me belly laugh so hard every episode!!! I have been binge watching you guys from the first episode and haven’t laughed so hard in years. I wanted to let you guys know what I do to get rid of hoop marks. I spray lightly the back of my project with wrinkle releaser (I buy the cheap brand from Dollar Store, it’s usually near the dryer sheets etc), let it dry for a few minutes and then press out the wrinkles. Yes I use it even with “fancy floss.” Don’t saturate it, just dampen it a little. And Jane, my eyes tear up every time you do your closing with Just One More Day because my 25 year old grandson didn’t give it one more day two and a half years ago. Miss him terribly. Anyway, I hope you ladies are around for a long time spreading love, joy and friendship to all of us.
It’s so good to see you both back again. I have missed seeing you. So I need to pick 12 projects to work on and not 24? That is more doable. Stay warm and get lots of stitching done.

You need a rotary cutter and rulers. quilters use these for cutting fabric and works great for needlework fabrics. And cutting mat. Joann’s will sometimes have great coupons otherwise they can be expensive
Hi Belinda. I have a rotary cutter that I use for my photography and sometimes fabric, but never thought to use it on linen or aida. I will have to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
