There are apps like Alicja AI that automate already all of your clinical documentation, and some sophisticated prompting like clinical prompt shortcuts that are enabling clinicians to just copy paste most of their workflow, in a perfect world we wouldnt need shortcut prompts and ideally chat GPT could write everything but the limitations are the tokens which limit the output hence you have to structure your prompts correctly and it can be a bit tedious to have to write the same prompt everyday, I'm surprised chat GPT hasnt included yet a prompt shortcut but overall extremely grateful for this technology like Chat GPT or Alicja AI that is saving me so much time in my work

Is Artificial Intelligence Starting to Replace Doctors?
    Oh God I hope so.
Every doctor that my elderly parents have seen have put them on a plat full of medications.
And their other goal is to have them come as often as possible for office visits. Very often weekly.
I got a new primary docor last week. The first thing he wanted to know is if I wanted drugs for every ailment I had. When I said I prefer to try dieting and exercising, he was offended.
    Doctors work for pharma.

I agree . Doctors are very unreliable in treating . Most of the time they claim that patients have no issue when the patients actually have . The patients end up suffering from disease for unreasonably long period of time

Honestly, I don't think that AI will be a problem for the future of doctors. Even if they were to greatly evolve and make certain doctors (from internists to family doctors and radiologists) more productive, this would result in lower costs for the healthcare system (which is public in my country, Italy) and shorter waiting lists, not to mention the shortage of doctors and nurses that all healthcare systems are currently suffering from. Just to give an example, this country already has a shortage of about 15,000 doctors out of a total of 400,000, and in the next 15 years, approximately 200,000 doctors are expected to retire, but the medical universities will only be able to train about 180,000 (not counting the approximately 1,000 or more who leave Italy every year to work in other countries); therefore, any help that can offer better care to the patient is welcome.
Some specializations may be more affected than others by automation, such as radiology. However, every time we talk about these topics, we overlook some points that I consider important:
Already now, waiting lists for a simple CT or X-ray scan exceed 6 months in all regions of Italy, and in some regions, they exceed one year. The advent of programs that assist radiologists in their work would certainly increase their productivity, thus, it is hoped, reducing waiting lists to almost zero.
In a public healthcare system like ours, getting exams from specialists is practically free, so an increase in the productivity of radiologists (and other doctors) would certainly correspond to an increase in the demand for care and, at the same time, a decrease in the cost for the community (as free means paid for by everyone through taxes).
Some countries, including mine, will face a decline in population in the coming decades (-0.4% per year for now), which will correspond to an increase in elderly people, who are usually frail and/or chronically ill and require more care, and a decrease in those of working age, including doctors and nurses.
Both medical schools and specialization schools are under the control of both the state and the Order of Doctors, so that the maximum number of students can be manipulated every year to align the needs of the state with its budget (again, because universities are "free"). For example, until a few years ago, the maximum number of medical students per year was about 8,000, but now it is almost 15,000, and it will probably be reduced in the coming years. This also applies to specializations: last year, for example, due to a shortage of radiologists + nuclear medicine doctors, almost 1,000 positions were made available, positions that can and will be reduced as soon as the shortages are reduced. (Until a few years ago, there were only a few hundred positions available).

I think it might be a good invention to be placed in low-developed area or those areas with large pop + poverties for interpreting metabolic lab values metabolic syndromes etc for more general diseases , since it can decrease cost. But it is still scary for medical students like meeee! Feels like all these AI are replacing us, a lot of people will lose job for certain esp primary care. I live in place where we can self pay, I can notice a lot of the workers were sagged. It is getting harder to earn nowadays, even just for normal living.

50 to 60 years to get to stage3?? if the progression is this slow what would be the fear? This is plenty of time for adjustments (in terms of career, economics of it, regulations etc).
All the point from all high profile cautioners is that AI PROGRESSES EXPONENTIALLY.
My guess is that if there is the will, first diagnosis done entirely by AI can happen in as little as 15 years. And I for one very gladly go for the AI doctor over my human GP, that's for sure!

Is it weird that I find stage 4 slightly more plausible than stage 3? The thing with stage 3 is that, in order to gather enough evidence about a clinical case, connection between physician and pacient is essential, a lot of times the information that you need for a clinical case is the one that the patient thinks is irrelevant, of course I am not saying a lot of positions wouldn't become obsolete, just not in that degree... While in stage 4, yeah, if it does happen it will really be like that.
If AI will be beneficial or not in the future, no one can tell for sure. Maybe new jobs arise, maybe they don't. Maybe there will be universal basic income, maybe there won't, maybe humans will become lazy, maybe they will have time to be even more creative, we don't know... All I know is that, I don't know what will happen, so for now, I want to pick a safe option that will allow me the live well. Should I still persue medicine or should I consider other fields that I also have interest in?

Hey bro what i think it will definitely replace yess may be it take more time but believe me i don't think so it will take that much cause it's evolving very fast and we all know evolution is for sure and medical studies takes almost 10 years approx so it's game of timing also. If u really love medicine then go for it and explore the world of medicine with ai . Rest is your choice all the best ✨

@@sonali01299 Thank you very much for you reply. I think I would really enjoy studying medicine because it is just so intresting and I love learnimg, especially science related fields, and If I were to follow medicine, I know that I would love what I wpuld be learning and the job itself would be much more intresting then staying in front of a computer all day long. But stability is important for me, so this leaves me in tough decision, but anyways, I will try persuing what I want, and if a few years from now I get unemployed, well, then I will try something Else! You just made me realize that I don't need to have the same job my whole life to be happy, there may still be alternatives in the future, do I'm gonna become a doctor, and enjoy the job while I can, and if things eventually go south for medicine, well, there are still other options!

Stop trying to opportunistically be lazy anf use AI machine lerning in psychiatry, there will always be a meed for knowledable doctors or assistance there is no shortage of stuff to do. Doctors have never enought time if priority’s go away others rise in priority.
I think it will make being a doctor easier and more i interesting if you like being effective and help people, do it because a lot of doctors especially those close to retirement dont so this is your opportunity to become a well known doctor with a amazibg recitation and riches the field is absolutely non controlled no oversight in psychiatry the ineffectiveness and outdated tiltration/med fine-tuning is horrendous.

No, it’ll replace doctors because US healthcare is corrupt and rotting from inside out. People eventually will pick the more convenient and cheaper option, which will be Ai PCP, pediatrics, or Urgent care. A PA/NP with this type of AI assistance can be just as beneficial. I say within 10 years, 1/3 of doctors will be replaced with our mid level providers with assistance from AI.
