    How To Play Warhammer AnyEra:
    1. Spend half your monthly income on a 'starter' army
    2. Go back to the store and buy at least two more models GW 'neglected' to put in the starter box, but that the army in the box absolutely relies on. Minimum price: L25 /$30 /EUR 26.50. Each.
    3. Use an average 40 hours spare time to use your minimal painting skills to put 'two colors' on all models in army.
3a. Possible trip back to game store to buy GW approved paints. Minimum price L12 /$10 /EUR 11.50. Each.
    4. *Carefully* pack army into cardboard box for trip to game site.
    5. Find a match.
    6. Discover very late in the game that everybody has built a custom army specifically designed to defeat the unit you bought.
    7. Listen to opponent recite rules addenda /ephemera /errata that explains why he is smashing your army like a watermelon at a football game; ALL, mind you, while he's mocking your army selection, tactics, paint job, family, and parental circumstances.
    8. Keep composure.
    9. Dump army back in cardboard box for trip home.
    10. Regret spending the exorbitant amount of disposable income you spent.
    11. Shove army in back of closet and find a cheaper hobby.

    • @daftmell5237

the starter boxes are 60€, models start at 8€ for three, and usually are 30€ for 10 for the cheap ones and 35€ for 5 for the elites. you don't need to paint your models, gw paints are 3€ each, shades are 6€ and if you only use two colors and a wash thats 12€ for you. if you go to a tournament expect competitive enemies, if you play in a store you won't see a lot of people that bring their tournement lists. i have never been mocked at a gw store, tournament or anywhere else while playing warhammer with anyone else than my friends, most people are very happy to have an opponent to play against, and especially at the stores they will do their best to make sure you have fun and anyone thats been in the hobby for a while will probably let you make minor mistakes, but in the end they are still the rules, and the 8th edition rulebook isn't that much for a player to learn.

Awesome video. Very clear and to the point. This could be a great ongoing series, maybe with 10 min "advanced rules" or 10 min "Space Marine Focus."
UA-cam has a lot of great tutorial videos for warhammer, but trying to get people to watch a 45 min rules video typically turns them off. 10 mins is perfect.
One suggestion might be to put up a graphic of the datasheet, make it easy for people to read as they follow along.
    Keep up the great work!

It’s clear this comment is here for the free loot, but this channel is absolutely amazing. I had the same fears as most people, being the-rules-look-complicated and painting the miniatures, but this video has swayed my views and I am very much looking forward to getting into this franchise

can you explain why you guys focus on power levels vs cost points of the minatures w/ loadouts? usually ITC tournaments go with the cost points and not power levels.

MochiLV because we target newer players and narrative storylines, however we have a pro section to what we do that’s points based.

I have friends that have played for a while, and I've helped them paint miniatures, but I've never played myself. Saw your game with Dee on Node, and now that I've seen it played, I kinda want to start myself.

thanks for the video. Even after playing a couple of times (solitaire) I wasn't charging after shooting. Old 6th edition habits lol. Even while reading the 8th edition I didn't realize I was forgetting this.
