Politicians have a natural intelligence score of 1 you don’t need any feeble minding.
Jokes on you. Politicians are bards playing the fool with high charisma. And you fell for it. (At least enough of your citizens to put them in power)
Only in America
@@thederp2721I would say the American politicians have a int score of at least 5 not like Russians leader.
@@RandomPerson-tz7wkI didn't put no politician in power, the national congress grabbed the first guy they found and cheated the elections to make him president (there were literally registered votes from people that has been dead for like 10 years) and after that they just keep doing the same, so jokes on you...altough I must admite that he is quite good as a clown, quite a lit of charisma indeed

And then Modify Memory to make them think that you had just pitched yourself as a great advisor
Not required as you have them under your control
if you lose control they wont realize as fast
Also a good countermeasure to being discovered by mind readers or psychics.
Fun fact! While kalaraq quori do this kind of thing a lot in eberron as part of their main gameplan to manipulate humanity, in previous editions mind seed was a LOT more of a risky ability. Instead of turning the creature into a thrall, it used to *make a copy of your own personality.* So while the mind seeded humanoid had a kalaraq’s own fanatical devotion to the quori collective, there was always the chance they went rogue. So you would instead have a politician with all the skills and knowledge of an immortal dream spirit
Or, in the event that using it yourself copied _your own_ personality, you would have either a bunch of scheming assholes who have bodysnatched a bunch of important figures involuntarily, or the perfect set-up for a shadow government, depending on how narcissistic your character is.
@@obsidironpumicia4074 yeah the major question is “Can you keep a bunch of copies of YOU loyal to you, or at least to the same goal as you?” The kalaraq has the advantage of a shared inherent fanatical devotion to the dreaming dark, can you be confident that your mind seed wont try to make themselves the bigger cheese
How to become a lobbyist in dnd
It's not bribery, *it's worse*
@@ukkisragee9983Not when politicians default at 1 Int.
@@tehmarok arguably bribing an idiot is better than brainwashing an idiot.
That is messed up. When I think of lobbying, I think of bribery. That is really corrupt and shady stuff. Maybe there is a bribery mechanic. The bard raises their charisma bonus by 1 for each 100 gold given to the politician. That makes it easier to make politicians into the bard's puppets.
AIPAC:
step 1: be a bard.
ah shit here we com again.
Ah shit here we c*m again

Whoever's in charge here forgot to cast restoration.
I love how skibidi toilet showed up when he mentioned 1 int
Skipidi? Like skipidi toilet?
Someone forgot to cast greater restoration on the presidential candidates
No, that was intentional
Mb, thought it was funnier this way.
Sounds like a great idea for a second or third BBEG for after the first falls to fill the Power Vacuum, possibly even have to the party either knew them or semi unwittingly set them up to do this with clues along the way that, looking back they would be able to see it after the fact. And uprooting the secret army would leave plenty of options for story growth weeding them out
"Cast Feeblemind on your politician of choice."
*The politician still acts the same*
"Well, that's depressing... and explains a lot."
Honestly by that level you'll have so much money you can just bribe the guy
Money can't buy loyalty!
Username checks out
Mind control would be more reliable though. Would ensure loyalty even in the face of death.
That’s boring though
Tbh at that level you could just create (or take over) a city on a whim. Turning a politician into a thrall just sounds like a bunch of extra steps.
Especially when a great old one warlock can create thralls out of anyone they knock out.
@TherealRedhairedShanks to you perhaps
Lore wise, being a level 20 elven Druid is effectively being a god. They live really long and can control the weather and occasionally bring people back to life. It’s crazy
Cast greater restoration" Whelp, guess they're no longer under my control.
Greater Restoration says: "end *one* of the following effects on the target"
It doesn't clear all status effects with one casting.
Now that's a Zhentarim plot right there... Nice.
So be at least level 17, be in an Eberron campaign and know what a Kalaraq-whatever even is. Simple!
you don't need to know something to polymorph, that is a druid thing. by RAW it can technically be from any book too! but ya know the DM can just say "no we aint in eberon" and all
At least level 19 - kalaraq quorie is CR 19 aberration
Especially that you're a Bard and you persuasion is already like, +17. You can just be a politician
@@galmenz6118 Logically, it is impossible to polymorph into a creature that you are not aware of. That is clear metagaming, especially outside of the Eberron setting.
@@blkgardner Don't be silly. Literally, your character just needs to say, "Make me a monster capable of enthralling the minds of others." and the magic of polymorph would do the rest. Honestly, it would be a sucky DM to require you to know the name of a creature to transform into one, "I'm sorry Jimmy, but I will not accept 'You know, that one monster with horns and thick skin. You're going to need to polymorph into something else.'"
Ah yes, the Mindflayer strategy.
The only problem is logically your character has to know what that beast is. So as a gm I wouldn't allow it.
BUT, as a GM I now really want to write a campaign with a Bard BBEG who utilises this strategy.
@@DaddyCloyster The campaign i am Dming has only 2 Sessions so far. I will definitely put an evil bard in it😅
I mean, as far as I can tell, it also is a plan that requires you to be at a high enough level where you would most likely be able to bribe the politician, or any other number of less complicated ways of controlling him.
It also ignores that it's not how Mind Seed works, as far as I can tell. Mind Seed doesn't control them, it effectively copies yourself onto them, although they'll be eight levels lower than you. There'd also be no need to heal the intelligence, as they'd have the intelligence you had when you were 8 levels lower. At least, that's what I can tell from literally just a couple of moments looking the things up.
@@DaddyCloyster I would totally recommend looking into the dreaming dark as a whole then, the mentioned monster, kalaraq quori, make use of a very similar strategy in order to manipulate the people of eberron.
Incorrect. Only druids specify that you have to have seen a creature before you can transform into one. Arguably, you just need to say, "polymorph me into a monster with the ability to dominate people's minds" and the magic will do the rest.
Or just cast Geas. Much cheaper, just remember to recast it every month.
They'll still have their own mind and personality, but they'll have to obey your instruction under threat of death, assuming they have commoner stats.
i doubt a GM would make a king have the stats of a commoner. hell, its rare to even have a "regular" king and not a badass McAwesome warrior king/wizard
@@galmenz6118and they’re probably at least a Spellcaster or have some levels in fighter
Doesn’t geas last a whole year if cast at 9th lv though?
Geas only charms, it is not a perfect domination. Geas punishes the creature for acting against you, which does suggest that insubordination is at least POSSIBLE, if painful
@@Jdvalentine13at 9th level it’s actually indefinite
As a DM, if someone tried to make an army like that, I'd make the greater restoration also restore the victims control
Exactly why you do it once and steal THEIR armies!
Tbf it says in the stat block “only a wish spell can restore the victim’s control”
If you really wanted to limit this strategy, I would recommend making the mind seed function how it did in previous editions, where the target becomes a *copy of the user’s personality* instead of a loyal thrall. So you would instead have an army of individuals who are all copies in personality of the bard, and more importantly, could try to become the original
@@Jdvalentine13 Greater restoration, heal, or wish.
I want to run this as a villan, the players will need to discover the secret ruler and take him down, sounds like all round fun
I'm saving this one for the next Eberron campaign where I'm a player.
Common sense tells you the politicians get, at the very least, a Save once their Intelligence returns. You could argue that the effects disappear entirely. Don't let someone else's rules contravene common sense.
One of the things that has long tempted me to run a Fantasy Hero game is that Hero actively encourages the GM to say "that's broken, I'm not allowing it."
If it’s any consolation, mind seed as an ability used to be a LOT more reasonable in previous editions. Instead of creating a thrall, it used to *replace* the target’s personality with your own. A lot more creepier, and much bigger risk of the target trying to become “the original” so to speak
I mean, if we're talking about 17+ level dnd this isnt even remotely the most broken thing, in fact even setting it up is even more tenuous than the video pretends.
First of all feeblemind also prevents the target from underatanding languge, and makes them unable to communicate intelligibly. So youve got an, ostensibly, influencial politician that cant even pretend to be intelligent. So you need to figure out how your going to avoid suspicion for a week.
Second, the monster used here is specific to eberron, theres no reason to assume they exist in the setting your playing in...and if youre playing in eberron, then theres a reason they havent taken over doing basically exactly this.
Lastly, mind seed gets removed by greater restoration, so if theres any suspicion, it could be easily dealt with.
I do get what youre saying, but its truly unneccesary here
So... We just made ourself mindslayer...
Mindslave...
Whats that alien-octopus-that rule the world with fleeting ship and big brains again?
"Insert commentary of American presidential candidates here"
And your DM goes "Yeah people got suspicious after the politician disappeared for a 3 days and found you in the middle of your operation, what will you do now?"
A politician probably has close to commoner stats, feeblemind does 4d6 psychic damage, so itll probably kill them since you can only make melee attacks do non-lethal damage. So just be prepared to revivify them as well
IIRC, in 3.0/3.5, and probably earlier, if you have three characters at 20th level (a wizard, a cleric, and a druid) you can create a plane of existence, a planet, and seed that planet with life within a dilated bit of time, essentially being gods to whatever grows.
You're forgetting the fact that they are now smart enough to realize i got this tip from a yt short and therefore unreliable to command
High level D&D is broken:
Laughs in pathfinder 1e and anima beyond fantasy
DM: Hmm.... Interesting....
He figured out how to effectivly become the illuminati
I feel like this is one of those "Do you have any idea how much power I'd have to give up to be the president" moments.
They reroll the saying the saving throw every hour including right now. Don't worry they'll probably die of the psychic damage I'm gonna give them.
-the DM, probably.
Ah, the Darth Sidious approach
Remembering an older 2.5e campaign where my group got a wand of true wish and became literal gods.... That was fun
I feel like you could easily simplify it to just Friends, Modify Memory, and other similar spells.
True polymorph into a vampire, perhaps
I don't have good knowledge of D&D so I once asked my DM what being level 20 is like and he just said "you're basically a demigod"
Maybe by the time a lv 1 to 20 campaign is finished we'll have stienhardts.
Cid Kagenou wants to know your location.
DM: "We arent in Eberron, you dont know that monster"
ah the mind seed
favorite food of the mind goblin
Sounds evil. But fun.
The question here is, does the target of choice have enough hit points? Because Feeblemind automatically deals 4d6 psychic damage regardless of a save, a commoner would most likely die instantly. Unless you protect the target from the damage or target something with enough hit points to survive, you might just kill the person you’re trying to control.
@@AllToastersToastToast Or have my DM where everyone can survive most things, not just PC's lol. Or just where almost all saving throws are at advantage and nat 20. P:
@Comrade2261 yeah, but be in bad condition. And if they fail, they are capable of being revived after what happened.
Sooo, the imperius curse lol. But it takes a week
It takes a week, and during that week your target cant communicate intelligibly, nor can it understand language. So you either need to kidnap it or its going to give the game away just by virtue of being...well, feeble
😎 This could allow me to give Imvaernarhro a run for his hoard.

DM: CooL idea. Roll me history to see you've at least heard of this monster.
NAT 20.
+16 from expertise, +4 from bardic inspiration so 40.
Okay. So you read about it from a mad wizards book.
In a high-magic setting, kings are probably going to scanned for mind control on a daily basis.
As if most powerful people of any setting doesn't have their own mages
Not of any setting, specifically eberron...the magepunk setting. The setting where magic is ubiquitous.
Brother just made the shadow government
Imagine killing the politicians with the 4d6 psychic damage that comes with feeblemind
When your broken characters become the villains of the next campaign
The Earth King invites you to Lake Laogai…
“They have an hability called mind goblin”💀💀💀
Bonus points if you play as a lizardfolk bard.
Bard really is dangerous on his own
So basically being a typical Bard with extra steps
I feel like grater restoration could arguably end up removing the mind control as well, depending if your (DM) wants to screw over any plan like this at all or anything
My DM stopped me at Ebberon...
Thank you, my party will now forever be traumatized by fhe bard boss.
Better yet, why not Polymorph them and then use Awaken on them after Feeblemind? Accomplishes the same effect, but with less high level spells and a more immediate functionality.
Doesn’t necessarily give PERMANENT control, but a smart bard with a politician under their control for even a single month can be equally as terrifying.
And then when they get close to the end of the month, you could just rinse and repeat the process. A small monthly price to pay, for permanent diplomatic control ^^
Side note: Shapechange into a werewolf or some other shapeshifter creature, and then use Wish to Clone yourself while still in the Werewolf form, then die to make the shapeshifting traits permanent. Bonus points if you are already a Changeling!
Then, become the Kalaraq Quori in the same manner and clone/unalive yourself again!
Now you can use Mind Seed permanently without looking like a Sliver from MTG ^^ and you can just look like the politician at that point and take out the middle guy!
You are building a master manipulator at lvl 19. This can be undone with a master manipulator at lvl 19. *Dispell magic at 9th level*
Also, there is sooo much better ways of doing this. Just get the King of the area (most likely a noble statblock), and slowly make him more and more exhausted with the 3/day dream spell. Then when you are ready, possess the common folk until you get to the final room where the king is. Then use mind seed on the final day while he sleeps. Now you have a puppet-able king who will fail one more exhaustion check with one last dream. Since the quorri can possess anything, phase through solid objects, and can slowly control a small city, once the king is possessed, just use a combination of mind seed and modify memory to possess the rest of the important townies and enjoy being an immortal dream spirit that feeds off of nightmares. Most commoners and nobles have at best a +1 to your saves. And with DC 21 saves, you have some really powerful spells with a 25 Charisma. No need to Feeblemind. Just True Polymorph and you already won.
The problems with this: Dispell Magic and Anti-Magic field suppresses TP's effects. Any lvl 9 cleric can remove the mind seed, Banishment would permanently send you to the realm of the quorri, and a chronomancer and cleric duo can ensure the Banishment, Protection for Evil and Good, Hollow, and Forbiddance makes this a lot harder if not impossible.
With true polymorph you can just start printing out slaads. Basically frog xenomorphs and each type has a control gem in their brain that whoever holds it controls the Slaad. True polymorph some big rocks and trees into slaads and dig in by they’re brain gives you a decently powerful and growing army of creatures that can blend in to look like anyone as they’re also shape changers that cast spells
If I ever get isekai'd into the d&d universe. I now have a goal
You can do the same effect at level 14 with Simulacrum and Magic Jar, just have your Simulacrum cast it, and the funny thing is, you can actually impersonate two people at the same time!
First step setup a resort for high profile figureheads. Step 2 repeat the plot of "Murder at Eridanos"
I AM His Grey Eminence.
Remember: Any crazy game-breaking high-level D&D tactic is ALSO the perfect evil plot for a DM's next villain!
This is the most convoluted way to control a politician ever. Pretty sure you can do this with just one spell slot. Geas or modify memory or “here’s 20 gold”
Me as a dm scribbling notes for bbegs
If you were an enemy, you’d be the BBEG
Just a reminder Wish also works on the Feeblemind spell. So Wizards, do with that knowledge as you wish. Might take longer, seeing as both Wish and True Polymorph are both 9th level spells, but we can't have Bards have all the fun for themselves.
Not the Kaepora Gaebora theme T.T
This is my next villain idea
So basically how to become shadow government in DnD
Me about to make the greatest harem the world has ever seen
DM: ".........no"
DM: "Feeblemind? Ok, roll damage"... "he's dead."
Player: surprized pikachu face.
DM: the politician collapses, smacking his head on the desk with a deafening thud. one of the anti-magic guards you convinced the politician to send outside during your 'private' discussion; begins to bang on the door and shout, "what's going on in there?" And you feel the building shift as more people are drawn by the commotion.
...roll for initiative.
I didn't know polymorph actually grants psionic, or otherwise non-physical abilities of the new form. I would allow for a character who polymorphed into a bird to fly, that makes sense. But I would say that if a character polymorphed into a cockatrice they don't get the stone vision, they just get the strength and dexterity of the cockatrice's form.
Sleepercells installed
and that is how you get a party of adventurers on your ass
Now apply this to the bbeg [big bad evil guy]
This short was sponsored by: the Shadow Goverment
It's kinda giving Animorphs!! The Yeerks!
My favorite is bard and paladin, then to take a high level smite spell, use a lvl 9 spell slot for a smite, the smite spell and a college of whispers smite.
I will become the Emminence In Shadow
*title card*
Politician: Rolls nat 20 and succeeds anyways
Not gow saving throws work RaW. Which is all this video care about,
Bro is just Voldemort
And your dm is just like ok no one notices this going on and your own party doesn't care that they are doing nothing while you live out this bizzare power fantasy.
I mean, a clever DM could also think of ways around this. For example the politician's spouse or trusted advisors noticing something off after a strange visitor came to town. Not to mention turning into a weird monster and getting seen by guards should have the local military and witch hunters after you...
Just become the shadow government nice idea
So bassically, You ate the sssenate🧓⚡️
If I remember right, Mind Seed is flavored as overwriting the target's mind with a duplicate of the caster's over the course of the week. This, in theory, means that they will gain your intelligence by the end.
This of course relies on a DM willing to let flavor apply over the established mechanics.
"First, cast Feeblemind so that the politician's Intelligence score becomes 1"
I thought the idea was to reduce it, not give it a boost
lol
My brother rolled a nat20 when seducing the evil king. He has that guy wrapped around his dragonborn fingers, it's so funny, and we also have infinite income.
