      I hope they are hunting for me in a good way :D .... haha. I actually added a power bar underneath as well so I can plug in monitors directly on the desk. Something like this one from IKEA has almost a 10 foot long cable www.ikea.com/us/en/p/koppla-5-outlet-power-strip-2-usb-ports-black-white-textile-10464264/

    Thank you, thank you, thank you. My child set accidentally the max high (I know NOW that that exists) at 113 cm. Below that, it was all the time in AST mode. There is no instructions available and I thought I have to buy a new control. But now it's all clear. Thank you very much.

    Hi. Can you put 160cm desktop? Does it work. Uppspel is only 140 or 180cm.

      HEY.. so sorry I didn't get notified on your comment. Yes you definitely can install any size in between, as long as you don't mind using small wood screws to bite into it (and make sure the screws don't go all the way through your desktop. I just upgraded my desktop again with another one from IKEA, and just used a couple metal washers to give me confidence that I wouldn't' punch the screw all the way through the top of the desktop. I should have made a video of this as I just did it on the weekend!

    Which table top do you have? Did you also buy it on IKEA? The desk does not shake with all the movement when working or playing?

    • @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897
      @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897  Рік тому

      Hey! I can't seem to find the exact same table top on the IKEA website (bought my table top a couple years ago), but this one is similar (but white): www.ikea.com/us/en/p/lagkapten-tabletop-white-10508220/ .
      The key is the depth of the table top. My current table top length is 59 inches and 29.5 inches deep. I think the smallest I'd go for depth for the frame would be 24 inches deep (any narrower and the metal frame would be too big). The thickness of my table top is about 1.5 inches, so I used 3/4 inch wood screws into the bottom. It's very secure and no wobble at all.
      The frame itself has 2 recommended position to install, but really you can fit any table top in between as well - which would let you use almost any table top IKEA sells. They only advertise those recommended positions to match the dimensions of their grey table top. Hope this helps and happy to answer any other questions! :)

    Hi, I recently just bought mine and I'm having this weird issue where I can only adjust the height at small increments (like 3cm at most or something) at a time. Do you know how I can fix this ?

    • @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897
      @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897  Рік тому

      Hey.. is it maxing out at 3 cm completely, or will only let you move up 3cm at a time? Just wondering if the "max" height is set and restricting your movement from not going any higher.

      @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897  Рік тому

      Yeah, I already had this tabletop for my old desk and decided to use it ... you can buy the frame separately, so it gives you an opportunity to switch it up 😀. The frame itself can be resized easily for a range of sizes. So far it's been working amazing!

      Hi! Today I bought just the frame, and I would keep my old tabletop too. So how many holes did you use? I see 4 holes / side. Did you use all of them, or just 2 / sides?@@exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897

    Hi! Yesterday I bought this UPPSPEL frame. I had a tabletop. How many holes did you use for fixing the tabletop? I mean, it has 4 holes / sides. (2 has a rubber ring). Did you use just 2 holes / sides which has no rubber ring? Thank you! (Great video!!)

    • @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897
      @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897  11 місяців тому +1

      Hey, Thank you!
      I just checked my set up. I used 4 screws on each side, but only used the rubber rings on the ends (2 rubber rings per side). If you had any sort of washers laying around, they could hlep fill the gaps on the other ones, but I don't think its a must.
      So far, no issues at all and have been using it for almost a year!

    • @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897
      @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897  Рік тому

      Hey! I used wood screws I had in my workshop from Home Depot. I just made sure that the thickness of the tabletop and the metal frame were more than the screws, so they didn't pop up through the table top. In my case, my table top is pretty thick, so I used 3/4" wood screws.
      What I used (Canada): www.homedepot.ca/product/paulin--8-15-x-3-4-in-pan-head-square-drive-self-tapping-sheet-metal-screws-zinc-plated-100pcs/1000139767

    • @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897
      @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897  Рік тому

      Hey! I don't believe you can. The only other way would be a thinner table / desk top material or not installing the leveling knobs on the bottom of the frame.
      I'll investigate a bit more and will post if I find anything.

    Great ! Thank you. Where did you found that instructuons ? I bought mine ASIS for 40% price drop, but it stops every few sec. Now I set up sensitivity to 10.7 and now it goes all the way and stuck much less, but also does. Its empty, so I think there is need for some lubricate or something. Problem is that at IKEA support they dont knew any of this functions. I see there is also RJ45 port, maybe we can do something with that also ? :)

    • @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897
      @exploringgizmosgadgetsandg5897  Рік тому +1

      Hi, IKEA / ROG doesn't seem to publish any instructions, but I realized that most standing desks use the same computer components. I'm glad to hear that changing the sensitivity to 10.7 helped your issue. Here is what I found for recommended settings (www.upliftdesk.com/content/Programming-UPLIFT-Control-Box.pdf):
      “10.5” is code for the 10 kg (22 lbs) setting (most sensitive setting, false positives are sometimes possible).
      “10.6” is code for the 15 kg (33 lbs) setting
      “10.7” is code for the 20 kg (44 lbs) setting (least sensitive setting).
      I've read that some don't recommend adding lubricate. One other possibility for support might be through ASUS / ROG. The best thing might be to do an exchange through IKEA if they cannot actually provide you with proper support for the product as they give you up to a year to return / exchange. Hope that helps!
