The same people that criticize coffee are the same people that smash adderall, redbulls, cigarettes, ibuprofen, statins, and are convinced running is bad for your knees.
Caffeine is a drug and needs to be used more responsibly. If you need to drink caffeine every morning just to feel normal like most people do that is a problem. Caffeine should not compensate for poor recovery, sleep and nutrition. Instead it should be used as a performance enhancer when you need a boost in performance, not to be used as a crutch
Bro, I think I average 3-4 cups of coffee a day. I don't think I need the caffeine, I just enjoy the ritual of it. I start my day with decaf coffee pre-run, then my first caffeinated coffee after my run, usually followed by a 2nd, and you're crazy if you don't have a post-lunch coffee. I do try to switch to decaf in the afternoon.
Coffee is not bad for you. My uncle works at one of the best clinics in the US and he has studies showing that coffee is not bad for you and you could even drink 4 to 5 cups and be fine and even have benefits
