Love the tan bark sails. I've owned a CP16, I loved it, miss it. My boat is on the hard and I'm awaiting the splash. Thanks for the sail. I felt like I was aboard. Cool view. 👍🏼#13

It's been a perfect fit for us. I like making these videos so I can go back and immerse myself in it again when there's snow outside. Illinois winters are rough. I'll be sure to check out your channel.

I enjoyed your video's . We found a 21 foot Venture on PEI last fall an old 1975 a fixer upper looking at lots of video's to learn how things work.

Thanks for the comment. I'm sure the Venture will be a great boat.

Ha! Meant to reply from this account. Not my fly fishing account. I have too many documented hobbies.

Hey. I've been watching some of your videos actually. Looks like you're doing a lot of work and will have a solid boat once its done. Make videos of her sailing. Have fun.

Hello, we are looking at a 1997 16-2. Is there anything we should be looking out for ? Thanks !

Hey. A 97 is probably going to be in much better condition than my 76 was. However, the one main thing you still want to look for is water intrusion into the keel ballast. It can happen from either water getting into the cabin and settling in the keel or from cracks in the keel. If it freezes there it can also be the cause of keel cracks like mine had. Rap your knuckles along the keel in different spots. Listen for hollow or crunchy sounding spots which indicate the ballast has deteriorated or separated from the fiberglass.
Other than that, check the cabin roof for soft spots. Look for fraying in the stays. Normal stuff like that. Good luck
