Is there enough meet for the larger hole sm465? I see the sm465 adapter is less than an inch. Might be a better swap for the flat finder

I have a question, can I use an amc sedan gearbox or a toyota rwd sedan / pickup instead of a Willys gearbox? Thank you 🙂

Good morning buddy how are ya? Looks like an sm420. Great old tranny super low gears! I will be doing the same thing to my bell housing behind my 225 v6. But will use a sm465 due to shorter over all length with a adapter. I can’t wait for the next video. Thank you so much for all you share. God bless you and you wonderful family.

Thank you! Yessir it’s a 420. I’m sure you’ll love the 465. That’s an awesome transmission! Thanks for watching! We really appreciate it!

Awesome content! I’m getting ready to swap an sm420 into my 3a with the L134 and was wondering if you had to alter the main shaft to accommodate the pilot bushing? Thanks!

Thanks! I’m running a cj5 flywheel with the stock sm420 input shaft and a custom pilot bushing I made.

Great video. Are you still using the willys throw out bearing? I see you welded the clutch fork ball stud to the sm420.

Thanks! Yessir. The stock willys throwout bearing is used in this application. That makes it. Nice for booking up the stock clutch fork and cable.

Which adapter did you use from the 420 to D18? Also some videos of the floor mods. Thanks!

Hey Seth, amazing work! I'm working on a sm420 swap myself. Which adapter are you using to mate to the D18? I know advance adapters has a kit but yours looks a bit different.

Nice work again. Do you just do this as a hobby or were you/are you a machinist for a living?

Did you use any of the original sm420 bell housing mounting holes? Looks like all 4 bell housing holes had to be drill and tapped in the trans case to fit the Willy’s bell housing

This is a full custom conversion. Nothing lines up. lol. The Willys and GM do not share any holes.
