Some years ago I worked at Hellerman Tyton factory and lived in Hulme - once after my shift I walked to the bus stop at Sharston and realized that I lost my bus pass and my phone battery was dead / also no wallet nor card on me - I really enjoyed the 7 miles walk back home after being on my feet for 12 hours :D
From where you are behind the bus, the 3rd exit here is a killer. People are always in the right lane and then signal left and cut across to hit the 3rd exit. So many times I've nearly had an accident because of their incompetence.
