I happen to have one of these At 230 tuners, l run my Kenwood TS 2000x through it, as you say, must be at least 40 years old, but wonderful to operate, and l love the way you manually tune it, ah me, those were the days, de G1EGZ.

Agreed! I remember back in the 90’s I was on a rig with a Skanti marine transceiver with auto tune…. Made me sad 😞!!! The hands on operation makes it more fun and the tuner is trouble free. 73 and TU fer the comment. 😊

Thanks for the kind comment. Kenwood made.great gear back in the day. I have since changed and neutralised the tubes in the TS520 and it is working a treat 73 de George VK2AOE

There was a time I dreamed of owning the same exact tuner
    Sadly I never found one
I think the knwd there is a higher quality than many
Luckly I run up on a ancient johnson matchbox
I caused me to rethink all I thought I knew about everything :)
I think the fella who first put a coax connection on a HF rig opened the biggest can of worms in radio history :)
    I really mean that :)

Yes the Kenwood is a good build but the Johnson is rugged on another order of magnitude!!! Ham radio has so much scope for exploration and fun! Tu fer the comment 73 de VK2AOE

The AT-180 from the TS-180 line is the same tuner. Both of these tuners beat any MFJ tuner of the same wattage.

Just come across you video, I’ve just bought one of these for exactly the same reason you bought yours, not received mine yet, but it’s in the post. There to much of this hobby going computerised and one day we won’t be in control of our switch. Thanks for the video

Yes love mine. I use the dummy load option and also love the antenna options. As my station is largely QRP…. The extra antenna O/P will allow me to down the track, have my QRO TS520 seperate from my QRP antenna switcher. Also thoroughly agree with the elegance of simplicity a manual tuner offers. Enjoy the new toy when it arrives 73 de VK2AOE
