I grew up in Calabasas in the 60s , 70s and 80s. Taught myself to drive in the dirt Feilds that are now the Commons. What a great place to live in. I moved 30 years ago to the small rural coastal town of Arroyo Grande CA and it is turning into another Calabasas. Great video and I do miss the Sagebrush, spent many many hours there.

@@HollyandChrisLuxuryHomes Hi Holly I really enjoy your videos, My wife and I moved to A G in 1991 and bought or first house here for $92,000 right near the village. I don’t know if you have been back here in a while but the village has changed for the better, a lot more dining options and lights at night. But weekends are crazy with tourist but that’s okay I can’t blame them. The houses are now much less than Calabasas by far but they are more likely to be $1,000,000 not $92,000. I do miss the Sagebrush and just the overall feel of Calabasas especially the Rolex clock tower. And it was fun growing up having all your neighbors either on tv or in the movies, nobody really paid attention to that. Thank you so very much for your reply it made my day.

I like the Urban feel of Woodland Hills but Calabasas is great too 👍 the fire threat scares me away though.
Thanks for your comment ") Southern California has its threats, but living here my entire life (Chris speaking), the beauty and lifestyle massively outweigh the risk. Every region has it's risks, these are the ones I know and happily live with. We love it here!!!

How is Calabasas different from Westlake Village? Calabasas seems more trendy.
Great Question! They are very similar however Calabasas is a newer community and smaller in size. Westlake offers 2 lake communities and boating so the feel is a bit different. Both wonderful communities with very close range to Malibu and the city but just far enough away you get the quiet living.
