      +brian payne thanks
Everyone will have their own ideas and these are good questions that most Anglers will have faced.
Ive consulted some local match Anglers and together we reconmend.
      1. Trying smaller hooks matching the hook to the size of baits.Additionally consider bait presentation ensuring part of the gape of the hook and definately the hook point is visable.
You could also try adjusting the snood length.Dont strike too early, depending on the species some fish need a while to hook themselves. There may well be many reasons but id try those first myself in the same situation.
      2. The best rig depends on the venue and the match rules. Some form of two up one down rig is used on the south coast.
3.sounds like your taking your finger off the reel too early. Maybe try and wait a bit longer before you release the line on multiplier or fixed spool.
Be interesting to hear others opinions on these questions as they are quite common ive noticed.

With the knot on the weight clip do i pass it through the loop with my finger or create another loop also what’s the knot called please

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  Рік тому +1

Pass it through so your tying it “on the bight” it’s called a uni knot. Simple and effective.

Do you clip the top swivel onto mainline on reel or onto Shock leader (off of main line)? Hope that makes sense?

Hi I have just started out sea fishing and went and bought 70lb 0.8mm asso shock leader for main body on advice from a mate . The only thing is i don't know what size of single barrel crimps i will need . Any advice would be greatly appreciated . I went and bought crimps the same diameter as the shock leader by mistake , what should i have bought ??? cheers

Just get the next size up with an ID of 0.9. Internal diameter the same diameter of the line you can sometimes get it through but go for a crimps id that’s slightly larger. I’ve done that before too😂 I also got a micrometer from Aldi that’s very useful when ordering small diameter things , hope that helps

    Hi buddy.
I know you state to use small crimps, but what is the internal diameter of them please.
I want to bulk buy some crimps for flapper rigs and want to make sure they'll fit 50-70 lb rig body material
    I was thinking something along the line of 1.2 / 1.4 int.diam?
    Cheers,
    Karl
