@@detinu I personally know a guy, who landed a 500k deal In Vietnam's version of Shark Tank, but it never went through. There are several reasons: It is impossible for the Dragons/Sharks to sign the deal without seeing first hand how the business operate. The show is just a pitch, and very little physical evidence are presented to the investors. Which means they will eventually have to inspect the office, speak to the employees, look at the factories, look at the actual income statement balance sheets, equity structures etc. And sometimes they do not like what they see. Also many of these entrepreneurs are simply inventors, like the guy I know invented some short of food drying machine that uses solar power. They operate their businesses very informally. One of the best episodes EVER, was on the edge of my seat from the 12 minute on, and a VERY surprising ending! Better than most made for TV drama series! If only the title wasn't so revealing. 😞
Call me crazy, but I think this pitch turned around when they mentioned the data gathering element of the product. That's going to be much more valuable than the commission they get from the codes. Big Data is a massive money spinner, as long as you don't get caught doing anything naughty with it (ahem, Cambridge Analytics).
The deal didn't go through after the show, however Pouch went on to be acquired by the German company Global Savings Group for an undisclosed amount, purportedly in the seven-figure range.
She comes with a 'blank sheet' and leaves with one... lol Her offer didn't complete according to someone who posted, the deal didn't close as another investor offered £250k for a smaller %, probably one of the already big established brands like TCB or MSE that saw the potential of adding this plugin tech into their communities of millions of website users. £250k would be 'cheap' to buy 8 months of tech development hours and 2,300 retailers signed up.
This was a very pleasant episode! Nice pitch, answered the questions, no awkwardness or fighting, great offers, counter-offer accepted, even Jenny was in, boom!
part of a negotiation strategy. You point out faults, weak spots or whatever of a product or service so that you can offer a lower amount and they're more likely to agree to the price you set since you have pointed out faults with their product or service.
That’s standard business negotiation, you need to take into account all the flaws in the the business to ascertain whether it’s something worth investing in, PJ knows what he’s doing.
I see this happening over again in the Dragon's Den, only until Peter decides to make an offer while the rest are downplaying the product, then suddenly they want in too and make their offer.

Attack on Pieck smithy boy and da crew!
I loved it when Touker called the company "Poosh". He actually thought that's how you pronounce the word "Pouch" that was clearly written on the TV screen beside the entrepreneurs.
Is anyone else going to talk about that super awkward hug at the start? I felt like they'd seen lots of people giving hugs, but they themselves had never done it and wanted to give it a try or something :P
0:34 "last year, in the UK, 840,000,000 people searched for voucher codes"
*UK population: 66,000,000*
👌👌💯💯😂😂😂
January Baby people can get more then one code a year
@@slimjimrandom88 Then say "840,000,000 unique codes are used every year", not people
Exactly my thoughts
The biggest undercut battle I've seen in the den so far. And the entrepreneurs undercut the dragons even more.
I need discounts for my shoes, Jenny says, wearing red bottom heels.
that why she is rich she's a disciplined investor
Deborah: I wouldn't have gone at 6% so you're all right 😂😂
BOLLOX hahahhaha
One of the best episodes EVER, was on the edge of my seat from the 12 minute on, and a VERY surprising ending! Better than most made for TV drama series! If only the title wasn't so revealing. 😞
“Sorry we couldn’t find any vouchers for you”
Jenny: I’m out
Call me crazy, but I think this pitch turned around when they mentioned the data gathering element of the product. That's going to be much more valuable than the commission they get from the codes. Big Data is a massive money spinner, as long as you don't get caught doing anything naughty with it (ahem, Cambridge Analytics).
Best one yet! Confidence in that counter offer top notch
Jenny did a deal. I'm pretty sure the internet died.
Actually works. Tried it to book a hotel. Saved me £50 quid. Would use again.
The deal didn't go through after the show, however Pouch went on to be acquired by the German company Global Savings Group for an undisclosed amount, purportedly in the seven-figure range.
Pouch is just a rip off from Honey. I'm sorry, someone had to say it.
and they already did.
you're not one to talk about blatant rip-off's. glass houses etc (':
@@jackrobinson9403 Illiterate SJWs like you shouldn't be allowed on the internet.
Khellum in what way is he being an sjw
Peter , and deberah falling down the pecking order 😂
I gotta say I love Dragon's Den, not Shark Tank. I love Peter Jones and Deborah
Jenny made an offer 😲 must be a glitch in the Matrix 😉😂
She comes with a 'blank sheet' and leaves with one... lol Her offer didn't complete according to someone who posted, the deal didn't close as another investor offered £250k for a smaller %, probably one of the already big established brands like TCB or MSE that saw the potential of adding this plugin tech into their communities of millions of website users. £250k would be 'cheap' to buy 8 months of tech development hours and 2,300 retailers signed up.
Jenny's: "I welcome the increased offer". was hilarious!
Touker always straight to the point and always gives great advice. My fav
Jenny: I was forced into this deal, and for that reason, inside I shout.
Deborah and Peters face when they wanted Jenny.🤣🤣🤣😂
This was a very pleasant episode! Nice pitch, answered the questions, no awkwardness or fighting, great offers, counter-offer accepted, even Jenny was in, boom!
Jenny: “i come to you as one of the new dragons in the Den with a blank sheet of paper”
BLANK INDEED!
Oleksandr Usyk.
Anyone else notice peter always talks down the business and then offers a deal.
part of a negotiation strategy.
@@zamzuir9491 Exactly..well said
I see this happening over again in the Dragon's Den, only until Peter decides to make an offer while the rest are downplaying the product, then suddenly they want in too and make their offer.
Anyone else notice how Deborah follows suit most of the time after peter.
Either in thinking terms or making an offer she is very influenced by peter.
Interesting.
She trusts his knowledge in certain tech fields. And why not? He's got a good track record.
Follow success
she literally worships him....for a supposedly strong woman, i m surprised
It's not all sad for Peter, he got a part-time job with the lads carrying a company sandwich board up and down Oxford Street .......
These 2 fallows are really smart, and was a really great negotiation tactic, well thought out by the entrepreneurs. Good Luck!
2 of the inbetweeners asking me to invest in an IT opportunity? No bloody chance.
Instead of pitching themselves, they should have let their mate pitch. "This company has completed I.T."
😂
