This was the performance that convinced me that Morissette Amon was an Apex elite international superstar voice. In the years since, nothing has change, except that she is in my top 5 Pop singers ever. FTR, I am a retired professional music critic with 45+ years listening to the greatest ever live in concert, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, etc. Morissette is as good as any of them.
You hit the nail on the head when you described how she was telling the story. This is exactly why Morissette is special compared to other amazing vocalists. The more you react to her other performances, the more that statement becomes truer.

The high note you witnessed started with a straight tone followed by a vibrato then went up to a long riffing whistle....all in one breath done with ease like it was nothing. Imagine the level of difficulty to control that sustained note. That's a Morissette original song.

I think the main difference between other countries and Philippines is that here singing anytime anywhere is tolerated by many and encouraged for the talented.
Unless you are the shy and very conscious type, you can suddenly burst out singing at any random and public place without being condemned for it.
Perhaps some may get mocked here and there if you sound bad or funny but you're generally free to sing anytime anywhere as you like.
So there's plenty of opportunity to hone your skill if you have the potential.
In school and some workplaces, you will be randomly volunteered by your classmates and peers to sing to a crowd if they know you can sing. The support for talent here in the Philippines is incredible.
Truee ever since I keep singing my pitches is good enough idk it's my voice getting matured or I already know how to sing cause I tend to go out of pitch sometimes I'm already 17😅

It’s supposed to be our nature to love and commit to the one person whom we admire and adored most. But the very first time I’ve heard Morissette’s voice, I have immediately started to doubt myself as if I wanted to flirt, and / or perhaps to stray.
Though there may be a personal bias as we are both Filipinos, I find her performance truly phenomenal and awesome. She sounds absolutely amazing as she can easily convey the message of the song, able to play with the rhythm, with the dynamics, etc. Wow!!!
I strongly recommend that you react to her rendition of “Rise up” and “Never Enough” the next time you feature her.

Mori is probably the voice of our generation and easily stands in line with Mariah, Whitney and Christina. Her ability to convey emotions (even in a foreign language) is exceptional, her vocal abilities are insane and her „squeaks“ are iconic. To complete your „first impression“ of her, complete what I call „the big three“ and also react to „Rise up“ and „never enough“. After that, you might react to her latest banger „Gusto ko nang bumitaw“ Always go for the Wish-Bus Performances, except for Gusto ko nang bumitaw, the video with the live performance with band and her standing in a silver/metallic dress is imho better than the Wish/bus recording (which is only to a track).
