Go out and find your morels and soak them in a bowl of water for a little bit and then take the bowl of water and dump it around elm trees or apple trees or poplars trees or whatever kind of trees you have. You will be surprised by this method. I picked about 150 mushrooms the second year by doing this. Good luck with your mushrooms.

I noticed that you watered the mushroom garden with the hose. Aren’t you worried about using chlorinated water on your mushrooms?

The 1st., time I read an add for mushroom Cultivation I was " discouraged " because I read that you have to have a room that was laboratory sterile ( ! ? What ),
and that the growth medium was put in Auto-Claves w/ 600 Deg. Feh. Steam !
And one time I went to a place that sold ' Soils.' And the Proprietor told me that The soil that I was Looking at Came from a Mushroom growing business,
and that they Just went out of business because the " Power Went Out " ! What are you Kidding me ? !
Fortunately I have found out since that, That sort of Strictness Isn't Always necessary ! But if your going to be in the commercial Growing business it's
    a must !

What's up! I'm from the twin citys as well. If you decide to get some more spawn, here is what I would do. Put some cuts in the spawn bag, and soak it in water over night. I would put coffee grounds, and some saw dust in the area you dug up. I wouldnt separate the spawn bag block. Unless you plan to transfer to a separate larger substrate.
The entire block surrounded by used coffee grounds and saw dust as well as a little cover dirt should do just fine.
You may or may not get more than a couple flushes. After it fruits a couple times the substrate may be used up. Unless you can get it to fully take in your bed you plant it in. Than it should become perennial.
    Good luck TC bros.

What type of ph does a bed need? Oranges and some decaying fruit makes a lot of the groung acidic. I have a friend who teaches foraging and making beds. All very depending on the type of mushroom group was n. I do know oyster shells ground and lightly spread helps when growing many varieties.

@@TwinCitiesAdventures You can take a mushroom and maybe try the cloning method with agar then transfer to grain spawn jars. And when making your slurry at a few tbps of gypsum for the PH.

      @@TwinCitiesAdventures as far as i know (i am not a specialist) .
morchella esculenta doesnt like to much of nutrients, like compost or other fertilizers.
better throw alot of wood chips here and there and spread it over shaded areas in the garden. best of luck to u and your projects

Only place I've ever seen them in yards (and I see a lot of yards) is under decks with large bark, not wood chips, as a ground cover. Most homeowners didnt even know they had them. Wasatch Mountains.

@@TwinCitiesAdventures Good idea for a vid! Using apples or citrus peels. If you use citrus peels it's just the peel you gotta get all the rine off. A lot of people swear by crab apples. If you don't have that use another tart type like Granny Smith, but I'm pretty sure any apples will work. Quarter them, Just cover the apples with water. Boil them an hour remove them, then reduce the water to desired consistency. If you take a little bit out and cool it you can test the consistency. Or you can take a spoonful and put it in rubbing alcohol for 1 minute you can test it that way. It should slightly run through a fork. Kinda like the gel packs I've seen you use.
