Mmmmmmmmmm think you might regret getting rid of the Bakki Shower....following with interest, would like to see water test results after a week or so, Rodders.........👍
I’m 3 weeks on. No dip in parameters at all. Feeding has remained the same. There’s plenty of bio in my nexus that the additional bio just wasn’t needed. Unless you put tons of water over a shower, they are merely a haven for dead spots and bacteria. Was surprised how much of the media was dead in the shower. My koi are so much livelier without the shower - best move I made and won’t be going back to one. Best bit….. it’s silent now 😊
@IcenI_Koi approx 12000 litres per hour. I’m fortunate, I have a decent size bio on the nexus. I can see why those with limited bio capabilities would opt for a shower. 👍🏼
Really interesting you've removed the bakki! I've been seriously considering not using mine on my new pond build. Your pond is looking class as the minute mate 👌
Thanks buddy! Genuinely don’t know why I didn’t remove it sooner. Koi are far happier, pond is peaceful and I have one less thing to worry about. Really surprised me how many people have come forward since I took it off saying it’s a wise idea.
Air curtains are so much more visually pleasing i think, ive never been a fan of bottom drains specially in ponds with windows they take away that crystal clear water look and they always leave like bubbles on the surface to be skimmed off, curtains you dont seem to notice there on anywhere near as much
I totally agree. The koi seem to like it more too (I think) A friend of mine had done some studying and found that air produced through a curtain/pipe is far more oxygen rich than what’s released from BD air stones/rubbers. Thanks for watching 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Really good question and one I had to look at. If you buy cheapo straws, although they are stainless steel it’s definitely possible (all food grade steel has to be certified stainless in theory) The straws we purchased have a minimal nickel content of sufficient measure that it’s classed as 316. Most stainless steel products on a pond are only 304 - sieves etc. hope that helps 👍🏼👍🏼
U need to use Colombo pre blank weed and won't have keep treating it being use it for customers pond now for year work 100 let me known I can ship it to u next day
That would not have given me the level of circulation I wanted. When facing straight down, it merely pushed the muck in an upwards draft subsequently lifting the muck off the bottom. With the 45 elbow I’ve been able to tweet it so the flow is optimal to push the solids towards the BD whilst still creating a flow on one side 👍🏼👍🏼
Another good update Dave 👍
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Nice update 👍 Dave enjoyed watching 👀 ⛩🐟⛩
Appreciate you watching 😊

@@edenkoipond Ooooohhh, that changes things then bud, what was you pumping through that Bakki per hour the mate?

Another great video Dave 👍
Hope you're well.
Thanks my little flower 😬👍🏼
Looking very tidy, refurb is certainly coming along well now
Thanks buddy. Have a fantastic weekend 👍🏼👍🏼

Nice video Dave, so the air bar is it sitting on the bottom or halfway up
I had to really play with it. On the bottom, it was attracting turds to the bottom. I’ve found the sweet spot around 50cm below the surface 👍🏼

How are you getting on with the air curtain?
I chucked 2 1m burton ones in mine looks so much better than having the air coming from one air stone
So far so good. The fish seem to prefer it too 👍🏼
Did you sell your shower
I did indeed 👍🏼
Looks decent
👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
gaffa tape for stuff that is there but shouldn't be and cable ties for stuff that isn't there and should be, or is it the other way round ?
It depends whether we need to factor in wd40 😂😂
@@edenkoipond oh i forgot about the wd40 equation.
Need to hang a hard hat on that door if you cracked your head i have no chance 😂😂😂
Who’s have thought I’d struggle vertically 😂😂
Won’t you get rust from the straw? Think that’s not steenless steel

Could you not put elbow on return in pond directing flow down wards
That would not have given me the level of circulation I wanted. When facing straight down, it merely pushed the muck in an upwards draft subsequently lifting the muck off the bottom. Can’t you just put a 90 in that corner return
On the outlet you mean?
