- We were given a few days to use the Duke 790 by KTM BGC, known to many as "The Scalpel" due to its sharp edged design. It was surprisingly a very good lightweight bike for a middleweight category class of motorcycle.

Would it be a good first bike?
well it depends. i know some folks who had this as their first bike.
I have a 2020 390 Duke and I have my eyes on the 790 as my next bike. TBH the 390 does everything I need it to for now and I got an amazing deal on it, second hand with only 1,200km on the clock so I think I'll keep it for another year or two before I get the 790.
I had a 390 it’s great. I now have a 790. Also great.

Any ways, coming from 150cc can I ride it as my 1st beginner intermediate bike? I'm having hard time choosing from Duke 390 or 790, based on your vlog the lacking power of 390 was the downside. I have money for both of them for sure , but is it okay to go for duke 790?
thanks for the comment sir. appreciate it that much. as for your question, go straight to 790. it will only take you a few minutes to get accustomed to the power of the 790. getting the 390 and trying out the 790, you'll have regrets not getting the 790 just because you felt the 790 is too strong for a beginner. there is always the rain mode if you want to cap the power a bit so as not to overwhelm you.

indi ko na sinubukan sukatin sir kasi puros bomba ako sarap kasi pakinggan. pero sabi nila you can get upto 28km/l… very good figures for a 800cc bike

Hi sir, I did not measure that on purpose as i mentioned sa video po as I tend to always rev up the engine most of the time. But I got info that it averages t about 28km/l which is pretty good, almost same as the 390!!

btw boss, what is your top speed on the bike? Honestly, I'm imagining myself riding the Scalpel and puro piga din cguro ang gagawin ko (of course within traffic limits)
i actually have a follow up video this week. this time plainly ride impression lang going to tagaytay. di ko kay topspeed haha. bit it can go 150kph in a breeze, half throttle lang

5’10 po ako sir. medyo mahirap boss, pero baka kaya ng lowering. di naman kasi sya kabigatan. sabi nga ni ser mel, nasa diskarte na rin yan 😊

Would you keep this bike for 4-5 years? Is it reliable enough?
I can name some people who had their 790 for quite a long time now. not sure if they are 5 years already though.

mas malaki sya boss. ramdam mo din. pero kung kaya mo idrive ang 390, kayang kaya mo rin ito boss. very nimble sya for its size.

@@johncarlodimla8917 heheh may review ako nyan hehe. they look the same pero mas maliit ng kaunti ang Duke 200 when placed side by side with a Duke390. kaunti lang, almost negligible
