- OtterBox has long been famous for its super protective cases, and now with the Pursuit, you can get that outstanding protection in a much slimmer, more pocketable form factor. Marketed as their ‘thinnest, toughest and most protective’ case, the Pursuit has a great grip on the sides, but still slides into pockets with ease. It also comes with an optional lanyard, so you can have additional security when carrying your iPhone.

* Glossy clear polycarbonate on the back of the clear version is susceptible to scratching.

That thing is a beast - built like a tank. A little over the top for me but maybe good if you work in construction.
But smaller than the Defender :) The Defender is simply too big for me--I've never liked to use it on my phone (although to be fair, I haven't checked it out recently). But the Pursuit is very usable, and feels super protective. I really like it, even if it is a bit on the larger side :)

The Tech Reviewer just the plain black one. I still like the Rhinoshield SS & CG, otterbox Symmetry & Defender Pro, and the Caubade Sheath but I keep coming back to the Pursuit!
It does feel exceptionally secure and protective. I may use it on my phone when I am on vacation over the holidays :)

I have it and its great. Gives you a lot of protection like the defender while stills being as think as the symmetry series. However one thing taking on and off can give you a hard time. Plus, the feeling in the hand of this case is no for me. tried speck for the first time to replace this case and I loved it best grippy case out there. Overall, I would recommend the pursuit however i don’t like how it feels in the hand :/
Hi Julio! Interesting! So, which Speck case did you end up with? Presidio Grip, Presidio Sport or Presidio Pro? Those would be the grippy Speck cases..
I don't have a problem with the way the Pursuit case feels, but it has sharper angles than the Speck cases...

This otterbox and Catalyst I personally think make the best cases.
I don't have much experience with Catalyst, but I am certainly impressed with this OtterBox!

Hi I upgraded to the XR and recently purchased this screen protector while at at&t its the Bodyguardz Edge 2 edge screen protector and it said it was case friendly do you think it’ll work for this case? I ordered this case without watching this video first

The Tech Reviewer I got the lifeproof next and the back shattered from a drop less than 4 ft. Very disappointed that I didn’t go with my gut to get the otterbox. Also the rubber on the nëxt peels after a few weeks.

Hi Chris! I always prefer a matte finish--clear cases look great, but they tend to be very high maintenance!

Would be great if they put in a silent switch therefore case would be 100 % well close to dust proof well apart from front but not bad I just hate dust on inside of my case we just want a case put it on and not worry about it or maintaining it catalyst 360 waterproof case is the way to go I think for some

How has the clear case held up? Is the scratching very obvious?
I am not a good person to ask about long term use, because as a reviewer, I switch from case to case very frequently. However, my guess is that scratching will be noticeable pretty soon with the clear backed version. With the plain black version, I don't think that scratching will be an issue in most cases...

Hi Jun-Lon Chen! The Symmetry is significantly slimmer and smaller overall as compared with the Pursuit. But the Pursuit is smaller than the Defender...

Lid makes me think of jar lids that are sealed with no opening, whereas rim is like a toilet bowl seat with an opening. I think this should have been called a rim.

I was gonna buy a clear case for mine that I just bought but my step mom said “you’re not buying a $4 case for a $800 dollar phone that’s stupid” so this is good for me, but I don’t like beefy cases
I think your step mom is right :) Considering how much iPhones cost, it only makes sense to spend the money to get a decently protective case. And this one is definitely a great option...

Hmm, this doesn't look thinner than the Otterbox Symmetry.
It is not thinner than the Symmetry. I think OtterBox is saying it is the thinnest case in their lineup that has that level of protection. Very confusing!

The OtterBox defender no longer has a screen protector I won’t be buying it anymore
It's a tough call for OtterBox, I think. Some people love the protection a built in screen protector gives you...but a lot of people can't stand them and end up removing them. Have you considered going with the LifeProof FRE? You will get the built in screen protector, but the drop protection isn't up to the level of the Defender. Not bad though--6 ft...
