Memes aside, Awakening of the Wood is an underrated spell. While it doesn't deal great damage versus... anything... that 48% slow is not to be trifled with. It only takes a few seconds for a valuable unit to get trapped, surrounded, and dragged down! Plus, it comes attached to Lore of Life, which is in of itself a powerful lore of magic with a lot of utility.
And you KNOW the Wood Elves have some MEAN killing power to back that up. Waywatchers, for example?

Orion is honestly extremely underrated. A lot of WE players love the Anath Raema snipe cheese that you get with the Glady but Orion is just pretty much physically incapable of underperforming in any given match. Sure, he might take a lot of damage, but as soon as that Cloak threshhold is reached he just stops doing so.

@@thegreatskinkpriest8104 only wardances with spears had it others didnt. And even spear variant are no armor in loose formation so it should have hit them hard anyway. And they took only like 1/4 of their health at most. Which is ridiculous. It would be over for them in for example medieval 2
Legitimately, this could be an actual meta build if you just replaced 2 or 3 of the sword dancers with Tree Kin to tank the knight charges, and replacing the wraith's Awakening of the Wood with Melkoth's, so that you get the double slow on a single unit and nuke them down one by one.

This was great! Dynamic battle with solid tactics. Mistakes were made, but nothing horrendeous. And I loved the little Infantry on Infantry Charge in the fourth quarter. Like Orion and Louen quickly agreed on "Let's our boys and girls have a little knockout"- Very cinematic^^

That spear throw at the start was... Very anticlimactic xD
the balance bar being dead even for most of the game means it is heavily in wood elf favor as the bar doesn't take cloak of isha into count: regen isn't accounted for nor is orion having a huge part of his effective hp in the lower quarter where he only gets valued at 25% of his melee value. Furthermore Louen was regen a lot of his reg pool throughout the game while orion hadn't even touched his cloak yet

GG. Great battle. FYI, it's "fleur de lee". In French, constants at the end of a word are not pronounced unless the next word starts with a vowel. Except the letter "R". That's why it's "fleur" and "lee".
I've been told many times by French people on this channel that the S in Lys is pronounced. I used to always say Lee and then a bunch of people told me that was wrong. So, whatever lol. Might be a regional dialect thing dunno

That's something people always forget. WE absolutely have the tools to deal with Bretonnia, they just aren't used to them because they aren't that good in other matchups. Getting 20 ap and 15 anti-large on a rank and file unit that is less than 500 gold means you don't have a bad matchup vs Bretonnia, you just ain't playing it right.
Also, always keep in mind that Orion does actually have a lot of effective health because he never dies without eating all the way through to his regen cap beforehand. The Cloak of Isha pretty much triples the amount of damage he can take before kicking the bucket.
What a bad way to kick off No Nut November.

It's a nice off meta, the bad thing is that it might work only against AI in single player when they start doomstacking, thus not using archers anymore (which is rare). On multiplayer the meta for Bret right now is archers spam with 3 or 4 cavs, if they can manage well cavalry, your dancers will get killed before clashing with peasants. Because 440 arrows that hit you, will at least always deal 440 damage per salvo. From peasants. Yikes.
