12:19 I'm really impressed by the amount of editing for a video like this; like the zooming-in with each of Viper's "Ho's" during his "ho ho ho". As well as all the highlights for the various patch notes as Viper goes over them
Yeah, I also really missed your AoE2 content. I just looked through the youtube stats of AoE4 vs AoE2 and I hope it's not just the numbers that bring you back, but also your passion about AoE2. I do think in any case that what took you away from AoE2 for some time is also what makes you one of or probably the best AoE2 players of all times - your ego-less desire to just try out things and go full-ham to get the full experience of new things. Your experimentation and willingness to just fail is one of the things that make you great imho.
@@Atabascael He seemed authentic relieved to me to come back. AOE4 pricepools are much bigger and we can't judge anyone, who plays for a living. Let's hope for more S-tier tournaments in aoe2! =)
Original Indian campaign now features the Gurjaras. I think the missions are largely the same, but they play quite differently given the different units you and your opponents have now. In particular, the AI is quite annoying microing the Gurjaras’ unique unit which made one mission where you can’t create new units quite a bit more difficult. I guess even if you never buy the expansion, you can still play as the Gurjara in all 5 of those campaign missions, which is a bit strange.
I think that now they considered to split indians into more factions, it is the turn of italians to get splitted into more civs like Age of Chivalry mod have done with lots of italian civs!
@@eyeofhorus1301 I love watching and playing AoE2. I'm curious how you got into watching it if you don't play it though? That's cool there are ppl like that 👍
@@VvV-kp3xw I did. "Definitive" doesn't mean that it won't get content anymore, it's just the final version ever released. If we take "Definitive" literal, we have to remove the free content which came with updates as well and would be still stuck with the buggy release version from November 2019
"Indians" and "Hindustanis" actually mean the same thing historically. I think they renamed the civ mostly to make it more explicit that they're not the same civ also because the modern usage of these terms could have caused a bit of confusion.
I think with this dlc that splits a current civ into 4 civs. I think there is some hope for some of the civs i still have in mind. Even would have a perfect name for the next dlc maybe: "The will of the Emperror" First civ would be "Austria or the Habsburg Empire". As a more modern and weathy Empire their tec tree would be focus on gun powder units. Yet they would have very bad trash units, as they not had direct control over most of their empire. They actual would not build tc but Bundesstädte (old vasals of austria). This are more expensive as normal tcs but produce 30% quicker as normal tcs and are stronger overall. Special unit could be the "Kaiser Hunter" a elite unit trained to fight against the turks. Therefore they would be strong against other gun powder units and cavalarie. second civ would be ireland. As we not have any ireland civ yet. This would be a civ with strong spear units. They would have quicker moving halbediers and spear fighter and a special spear unit that can throw their spear on distance or do close combat. Overall they would have some wood eco bonuses. Last we also could split china in two. Adding the Qin or Han dynastie. Both are war torn times and nice fits for a campaign. Also this could be a china more based on close combat units and unit sparm. Missing many late game units. Eco bonus would be to have cheaper military units overall. Special unit would be the "general" who is very expensive but also very strong.
I hope Indian sub-continent civs can be add at least 2 more, 1st-Kalinga/Odisha a civs between Dravidian/Tamil-Kerala and Bengal, 2nd Sihala, Sri Lanka. 3rd Manipur, Between Bengal and Burmese, 4th-Assam/Ahom. Kalinga like Dravidian/Tamil chola, have important influences and culture exchange with Southeast Asia. Gurjaras and Pala/Bengal are 2 most important in medieval pre-islam india-Pakistan and Bangladesh
I really dislile the way this extensions go with more and more micro, then less macro and strategy. With units as coustilers and now all the new units with spécial abilities, this game is becoming League of Legend.

Slightly delayed patch review... Slightly...
Better late then never!
for me its the first and only review I watched , you read from the source and explain it , that works for me ❤️
Clearly
Better slightly than never
Waited so long to see u back in Aoe2 vipey
You should keep up this format. Just review patches 40 days after release

That's some top notch editing, highlighting the sections Vipi is reading and darkening the rest of the screen. Well done!
Thanks and welcome back to AOE2
Thank you! Very kind of you!
Welcome back Vipy, you were missed!!! I watched this live but will watch it again because its fun!!
I've been waiting for this!!!!
I'm quite excite to see the campaign with our boi Viper.

Welcome back!!!
Mind that Siege Elephants deal bonus dmg to buildings, so Gurjaras' SE eat buildings.
Yay Viper is back!
You look much happier being back to AoE2. I actually enjoyed watching your success in Golden League but it's obvious this is your home.
+shoonseiki As someone who doesn't play either game AoE2 is a much better strategy game imo

happy to see you back :)
welcome back prodigal son!
Nice editing! And Welcone back to AoE 2!
You play Gurjaras in Prithvuraj campaign
1:40 fun fact: Hindustanis means Indians in English
Welcome back vipi.. your pronunciations are quite accurate.. gg
Great job in AOE4 Viper, it's great to see you play any game. Hindustani hand cannons outrange castles without the blacksmith upgrades.
guess who's back, back again
Omg viper hi! *.*
Welcome back dude!!!
"The winding rivers"
Well "New" for you :D

"Definitive Edition" and still dlcs.
All hail modern capitalism
Because Definitive means final version released, not content final.
Should they rename it so that ppl like you can stop complaining?

Always come back to your first love aoe2 🤣 viva el viper (?)
Yes!
The subtitles are telling me that you called this game Dinosaurs of India...
Thumbs up for the editor, who highlighted the sentences TheViper read.

The king has returned! And not a moment too soon. How much time left on the FB contract?
i hope they do the same thing with the Chinese as they did with the indians
They said it was the last DLC to be released. So sadly no.
But they don't stop patches.
