Jaws Last Ever Public Ride at Universal Studios Florida: The Final Voyage

- This is the last ever voyage for Jaws at Universal Studios Florida. Billed as Jaws - The Final Voyage, only 48 tickets were given out on January 2, 2012 to be on the final Voyage of Jaws that night, before it and the whole Amity area closed forever to make way for Diagon Alley.
First the doors to the attraction closed at 8 p.m., then the final voyage ticket holders met and were led through the queue to meet the skipper chosen to pilot the final voyage. Watch to the end when the large crowd of fans waiting on land start singing, chanting and cheering after we defeat the shark.

For those who do not know. the last skipper has made his last ride through out life last night. We carry his spirit at all times on et as it was the last ride he worked at, at universal studios orlando😔. E.T team loves you skip and we stick together through thick and thin. When everyone started singing towards the end, my heart just dropped. Wish I could of experienced this ride at least once, Jaws is one of my favorite movies and I just seem to love rides that aren't the most perfect thing in the world, it is, really, what makes them perfect and memorable in their own special way. R.I.P Jaws Ride
But I am sure that one will eventually be closed and replaced as well!Just like they closed Back to the Future:The Ride finally.

For those who haven’t read comments yet or don’t know, Skip passed away on 4th of July this year. It was an honor to work with him and it brings me to tears hearing the cheers when his name is announced and the cheers at the end of the ride.
his name should be honored somewhere at universal if its not. I was really sad to find this out. It’s a huge honor to be able to even watch this.

@diegofavaratozfilms962 Unfortunately, he and his son died on the 4th of July 2021 in a horrific car accident on their way home from a 4th of July celebration with their family. He is survived by his wife and daughter. May Skip and his son Mikey Rest in Peace.😢
I would've been fine with Diagon Alley, but why not close Fear Factor Live? Who actually sees that show?
I've always wondered that. Like I've been going to Universal for 17 years and I still have never seen that show. I guess they keep it around for HHN.
They could just use the Animal Actors show for HHN. Who actually sees THAT show?

I love HP but this ride was a classic and should have stayed in the studios :(
M LT it was an classic but universal ruined every classic like Back to the Future tho. But it sucks that almost every classic is replaced i think ok hp is good but Jaws and Back to the future were history and tourism rides i whised they did keept these rides and not replacing everything!!!!
Universal had to make new replacements like Despicable Me and Harry Potter. Besides they wanted to do that for a new generation of kids and adults

I was kinda waiting for him to say "Don't tell anyone about this little fish episode! If word of this incident gets out, they might shut down the boat tours and all of Amity will lose business!" I've heard other skippers say something along those lines.....would've been so epic to hear that and maybe add in a quip about some Brits taking over or something like that.

RIP Jaws. and huge well done to the skipper who piloted the last voyage.
After watching this video I watched another video with a POV of the front of the last ride. I heard this guy's speech about Michael Skipper and his son Mikey and how the bonded over their love for this ride. It made me curious to see if he still worked at the park, so I look him up and found out that he and his son both passed away in a car accident on 4th of July this year. It just breaks my heart to hear this news I definitely will be praying for his wife and his daughter during this trying time. May him and his son rest in peace. 🙏🏾💔

Very sad to see this go. I was absolutely terrified to ride this as a kid and as I grew older I grew up to appreciate it. Jaws was an iconic ride at Universal and this video shows how much it will be missed and never forgotten by fans.

The last time I rode on that was back in June. If only I knew it would be the last time I'd ever ride it, I would've given it a well deserved goodbye. Thanks, Attractions! It means a lot to see the last ever voyage of a true classic.
This was a problem child since the day it was constructed. Made it even that more lovable. . Will miss you on future trips to Orlando. In 2012, when I found out they were dismantling this beloved ride to make room for construction of the upcoming Diagon Alley from Harry Potter, I wrote a long winded letter to Universal Corporate how I would never come to their theme park again in my life or spend another dollar on anything from them since they were taking out the Jaws ride which I grew up on, they replied back with an apology and stated their main reason was because of fuel costs the ride used on a daily basis, natural gas for the explosions, gasoline, etc. Well, since then costs have decreased and stayed decreased. I laughed towards the end of the video, when the jaws that bites the high voltage cable, did not work or surface, on the very last ride. Kind of like the shark said "F*** Y**" one very last time to Universal studios. R.I P. old friend

honestly, it was a great ride but .for the last 5 years that i remember no one ever rides it anymore,and is taking up alot of space so, i'm sad / happy that its leaving. now new and better stuff is coming and its gonna be more exciting

One of My favorite rides to go on it was so much fun... :( I WILL MISS JAWS... Whatever it becomes next will never make me forget JAWS I'll walk thru that line & still remember & think about how much fun jaws was to ride! This video was so great because everyone participated in it!!! True Jaws ride fans were in that boat & I am so glad they were they made the video 1million times better!
Very sad :( But I must say it put a smile on my face hearing all of the riders enthusiasm :) The screaming, "Ten Minutes?!...", the cheering, et cetera. R.I.P. "JAWS Ride".

man to ride it at night. only got to ride it once myself and that was back in 97-98. went back in 99 with friends for graduation and it was closed down sadly.
Even on the last ride ever the ride didn't work man I loved the Jaws ride and what made it special was both Amity and the fact that the ride almost never worked. I'll miss walking through Amity and as I'm getting on the ride hoping everything works haha. Good thing Universal Studios Japan still has the Jaws ride.
Perhaps I am too young to really be able to appreciate the old rides at Universal, but I remember going to Universal when I was a little girl and I remember how terrified I was to go on this, but I would always go on it anyway. Now I am turning 19 in a few weeks and I would have loved to ride this ride one last time. I miss the old rides... Back to the Future... Jaws... Universal, why take away the rides we all know and love and replace it with rides that are pointless? RIP Jaw.
I'm so glad I was able to go to Universal Studios for the first time ever last May and was able to experience Jaws.
I'll miss this ride, it just won't be the same not riding this ride when I go to Universal this April
I didn't see the shark pop up for that last power line grab. Did it malfunction on its last show?!
From what I hear it broke down at some point during the final day and it didnt work again for the rest of the day

Rode it for the first and only time in 2008. Definitely the highlight of our Universal Studios visit.

Ok guys watch 6:29. Does that bring a tear to your eye how they quote the skipper and actually know the lines? Now skip to 8:22 and watch. All of that insane screaming of "JAWS RIDE JAWS RIDE JAWS RIDE!" tells you there are still TONS of Jaws fans out there. Same with 8:47. Universal really needs to watch this video. You dont see Disney knocking down It's A Small World or The Haunted Mansion to make way for new stuff, they renovate their old rides to keep tradition alive while also keeping a sense of freshness by adding little nuances to those rides. Universal seems to think paving over tradition is the way to make money. Maybe they can learn from the competition. Jaws was one of favorite, if not, my favorite ride at the Studios. Oh well, cant take those things for granted it seems like.

JAWS is my favorite movie! I saw it when I was really young and it was the first movie to ever scare me. Coincidently I also grew up on the Jersey Shore beaches where the original 1916 shark attack’s took place inspiring JAWS. JAWS has just always had a special place in my heart. 🦈♥️
This video had me in tears! From everyone in unison shouting “10 minutes?! We’ll be shark bait in 10 minutes!” to everyone singing Show Me The Way To Go Home at the end.
I wish they would revamp this ride! Put to rest the whole skipper boat tour story line concept (because although lovably campy, it was getting dated) and just start fresh. Have it be a more interactive ride. With brand new animatronic sharks that get closer to and tower above the boat and look and move better. I would love to reimagine and redesign this ride with likeminded people who love JAWS. It would be an absolutely terrifying and magical ride if it was brought back and done well.

I wish I was 1 of the lucky last 48 riders to b in this last voyage. I'd lose my voice bcuz of the screaming, cheering & chanting my lungs out throughout this ride. I would get off the boat crying. I'd give the skipper a congratulatory hug or a kiss if he's cute ;D Congrats 2 him & the last riders who get 2 njoy this ride 4 me who will never get a chance 2 go on this classic ride. Dimitrius Parker Jaws is an old movie and doesn't attract the same crowds as it once did. They wanted something new and fresh. Also, I guess it cost too much to maintain. The ride was there for about 22 years.

I love Harry Potter but rode this ride when I was 8 and I hate that it's gone.
When they closed the doors, it reminded me of when Splash Mountain closed at Disneyland years later after jaws closed
