The video title shocked me at first, but I understood and could relate to you after watching the video. I am a student doing Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Economics and Economics does take up a lot of my time on top of my school's extracurricular activities. I want to focus on 3 A-levels which will help and motivate me in multiple ways and I respect you took the first step.
Thanks so much for understanding my decision, it definitely wasn't one I expected myself to make so early on in the year, but looking back, I think I did what was best for me
Exactly the same scenario as me, that is insane! I loved it so much at GCSE and I wanted to carry it on in some ways( some parts I liked such as grammar, translation, heritage and I think I’d love the book). I knew I’d regret not taking it as an A Level! i was always going to drop a subject and I simply didn’t enjoy it enough to see the worth in continuing it. I didn’t dislike it necessarily but Some of the stuff similar to you wasn’t interesting enough to me and I wasn’t fully invested. To just focus on my 3 A Levels Biology Chemistry Maths is so much better, with more study periods and I just feel more content knowing that my 3 now will always be my 3 and that I can put my full dedication into them.
I'm taking 4 too: maths, physics, chemistry, french. I really like French, mainly the speaking part, but reading and listening takes up some time to actually learn. I wanna keep doing it just to have that qualification to speak in another language more advanced than GCSE, but idk, I guess having higher maths phys and chem grades would be better than 4 lower grades.
Yeah I understand your situation, very similar to mine, at the end of the day it’s your choice, and plus you’ve got plenty of time to think about it still, whatever you choose, I wish the best for your career in the future ;)
@@NoumanSami well, decision was made. I've decided to drop it, just need to wait for confirmation now. Tbh I feel more free for doing it, get more free periods to study, can actually work on the other 3 subjects. Also, means I can do my own stuff and hobbies, like learning French (ikr) at my own pace, or reading without stressing about doing extra work.
That’s definitely a great decision considering your circumstances.I’m literally in the same boat thinking about dropping Spanish (thinking it’ll impact my bio chem and maths grades😂) I love Spanish but there’s just too much work right now so I’m like 50/50 about whether I should drop it. Loved this video it’s def given me something to think about!
same here I dropped psychology as part of four a level. it was interesting but work load was high so now I have a lot of frees and seen an increase in my other subjects grades
I feel like that's a wise choice I have a friend who was initially doing maths, chem, bio and physics but she ended up dropping physics the workload was way too much if you don't need the 4th alevel get rid of it imo (there's a reason why 3 alevels is the standard)
i’m doing bio chem and maths but i’m self studying so i don’t go to school. it’s weird hearing ppl talk abt their timetables and having to fo work outside of school because i just get stuff done when it needs to be done 🤷🏽♀️
hi nouman, you are doing the same levels as me now which is nice as there's a youtuber that I can relate to. It would be great if you can make a video on tips and resources you use for bio, chem and maths
yes Nouman its good to see you've got your priorities straight. French A-Level ❌ Best UA-cam Channel on UA-cam ✅ (seriously though a very well thought out and smart decision)
This video was very helpful, I’m starting year 12 next year and I’m going to be taking french, English lit and history. How do you manage revision time with your subjects? I’ve been told that even tho there are fewer subjects than GCSE, it tends to be quite difficult still and I haven’t got a clear idea of just how difficult A levels are going to be. I’m not sure whether I should do 4 a levels so that a university would be more likely to accept me but honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to manage it, any advise on starting A levels would be appreciated. Thanks bro
Universities do not care at all if you do 4 a levels rather than 3. People usually do 4 a levels if they need to do further maths, or they don’t really know what to do so they want to keep options open. I’d suggest to just do the 3 you’re planning on doing, because 3 a levels alone will take a huge portion of your time. My only advice is to make sure that you don’t fall behind. Every week, if you start falling back on subjects, dedicate a day where you get back on track. Also make sure to review every lesson after you do it at school, it saves a lot of time in the long term
I know you feel I am currently about to drop maths as was struggling to keep up with the work of 4 A levels and maths was my weakness subject and I loved it so I am so sad 😢.
@@NoumanSami I want to do medicine in the future but I do not think it will be that impacted as many uni want only Biology and Chemistry I believe however I do know that some do require maths and physics though.

@nouman sami bro uno how u said u got all ur flashcards done by year 11, does that mean you literally had every topic from start to end completed before year 11 started or was u stil making fslashcards for some topics whilst going through year 11
i had gotten flashcards done for the topics in year 10, as i went through year 11 and learnt new topics, I made more. I don't recommend making flashcards on a topic before you've learnt it
Assalamualaikum, I started year 10 around a month ago and I am not sure when to start revising, is now a good time or should I leave it for later in year 10 or at the start of year 11?
Wa’alaikum Salam, I’d say don’t worry about revision right now, my recommendation is to just revise when a test comes close, but make sure you already start making revision material so for me that was Flashcards, trust me by year 11, if you had gotten that stuff already made, life would be so much nicer
We did multiple bio tests but the one I got back so far I got 26/29, and for chem I got 27/30 and maths, I haven’t received my result for the test we just did
