Ah thank you for the support I really have a lot of fun reviewing what scents I really enjoy instead of just what’s new, the classics are so much better, I’m glad you enjoy the channel bro, Merry Christmas also !
I could listen to you all day. You arw a very good speaker and I just know that your channel is going to boom one day. I hope you dont stop making reviews dude. The subs will get there!
I love soapy fragrances. I wish to suggest an old British fragrance I recently discovered thanks to the channel The Chap's Guide: Mandate. It's cheap, pleasant, and has very good longevity and sillage.
My scents in college were Aramis Drakkar Noir Lauder for Men Polo Green and Paco Rabanne PH. I plan on repurchasing sons of these to go with my more modern stuff. I have seen you pump Bogart signature a few times , how does it compare to PRPH and Polo? I have Quorum , i’d it similar. I’m trying to figure out if I should pick it up , Thanks
Great list , I’ll have to check these out , Sung Homme gives me amazing performance as well , I get a little smoke in the opening and then a whole work day of enjoyment
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey does sung homme have a prominent caraway scent....like Quorom for example? Quorom I had to get rid of because of it. That's all that's stopping me from getting Sung Homme, as I saw on Fragrantica.
Hi Kelan, Etienne Aigner No.2 is from my birthyear 1976 and to me THE soapiest perfume ever! Since 1965, Aigner is a German luxury house well known for its leatherware, fashion, and leather accessories. Although I hate the house of Creed, with its fake-cologne-heritage and colologne copies they name/call „original“, I must admitt that the soapy scent I like by far the most is actually Original Vetiver. Looking forward to your next video. I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and stay safe and healthy! Best regards from Aigner land Germany, Dan.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Dan! I got a sample of creed Original Vetiver I was going to buy it for my dad as a gift since he loves guerlain Vetiver but it was nothing like it I just got a ton of citrus and no Vetiver so I went with grey Vetiver instead
My 5 : Jaguar for Men ( green, clean and a little soapy), Fine American Blend EDT (slightly more soapy than the after shave), Paco Rabanne Pour Homme (modern formula), of course Sung Homme (Irish Spring with a little incense) and Patrick by Fragrances of Ireland which is also a lot like Irish Spring especially if sprayed on your shirt, it's a little more mossy on skin.
I love Bogart Signature! The soapy moss in the current formulation is surprisingly good! I have Sung Homme as well-that stuff is crazy soapy and so fresh! I didn't have the other three you mentioned, but I look forward to exploring them! Another soapy fragrance that I love is Lomani Pour Homme EDT. Thanks for the recommendations!
Gr8 video, I really need to pick up more soapy scents cuz I love them. I will search for Alfred Sung next time I’m at the store. Top for me: 1. Malibu Beach by Alexandria Fragrances (a perfect clone of Amouage Beach Hut Man) 2. John Varvatos Artisan 3. Al Rehab Silver (the roll on oil is stronger and more masculine than EDP)
I have silver roll on as well I have not worn it in a while I will have to use it again soon to see if I get a soapy style scent I honestly can’t remember how it was lol
Great to know soapy scents. Excellent review. I have a quick question. I m building my cologne collection. I love FRESH scents. Budget is tight. What your suggestions. I wanna build just a little bit collection so that I can use interchangeably to avoid boredom. Based on your recommendation I bought Paco Rabanne de Sport and I love it.
Yes, I have the original. Amazing smell. I like creed Irish Tweet. It's also a fresh scent. But I have a lot of memories and love for Paco Rabanne de sport. It has a special place in my heart.
Some new ones for me on here, thanks! I want to try Aigner and Sung now. Castile from Penhaligons is an amazing soapy/ barbershop scent that you should try. Pricey but the quality is there. Cheers for all the great reviews 👏
Interesting take on the soap genre. Try Prada Amber; it’s like they liquidized a high end soap bar. Also, the first rule of frag com is you don’t talk about blue frags, the second rule of frag com is you don’t talk about blue frags, ....
Just picked up Sung Homme (same formula as in the video)...knew it longer, but did triedit, since I did not expect much...boy, was I wrong. Really love it, performance is really great and its smells fantastic...clean, masculine, timeless.
I know I've commented on Sung Homme before, about how it doesn't actually remind me of Irish Spring soap, although I do agree it's soapy. I'd like to add now, however, that what bothered me the most is that it has a celery-like quality to it, especially on my skin. I find the classic green Jaguar to smell similar but with less of the celery-like impression, and it seems smoother and more refined. Jaguar is not quite as soapy, but it is still on the soapy side, has more Irish Spring greenness, and makes me feel very put-together when I'm wearing a dress shirt and tie (it really wafts up nicely from the collar when applied to the upper chest/lower neck).
When I got Sung Homme, I was disappointed because so many people had been saying it smelled like Irish Spring, but to me it smells more like Preferred Stock. I was expecting green freshness. Didn't get much of that. Without that, it's no Irish Spring. I would say it is somewhat RELATED to Irish Spring, but not nearly as green and refreshing. Soapy, though, yes.
That’s funny just uploaded A review of preferred stock yesterday lol, damn I think sung Homme smells a lot like Irish spring personally but either way thank you for watching and commenting dude
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Thanks, I enjoy your videos. Just have to disagree on that point because to me the defining features of Irish Spring are that it's so green and so fresh/refreshing. Otherwise, I suppose it is similar to Irish Spring (just not in the ways that jump out at me the most, haha).
extremely soapy, 10+ hours of performance, spices and cinnamon (which I love), and it's all coming from the newest formulation? Man im sold on that Sung Homme lol!
Sung homme is so damn good in the colder months. I have a ton of high end designers. But, this thing cuts theough the cold with the best of them, and has 8 hour longevity
Amazon for the most part is safe, Lucky scent is 100% safe, I use eBay a lot as well and Mercari. It’s all safe for the most part. Odd strange websites that seem out dated I would avoid
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey thanks! Probably just saved me a couple bucks lol. Your one of the UA-camrs who’s reviews I trust I’ve gotten a couple scents you’ve recommended ands love them a lot.
Sung Homme was nuclear☢️ for me. Perhaps I did make the mistake of over spraying. I'll give it another try in the spring. I had the version with built in sprayer. However before Winter is over I'm going to order Homme de Cafe (1978)
Vintage Sung Homme (Riviera Concepts) is as strong as my vintage Caesars Man (Park Place Entertainment) and both smell equally synthetic. For a synthetic smell though I much prefer Sung Homme to Caesars Man. One spray on the chest in cold weather can still be too much at times. I have three backup bottles. Does have a cigarette ash vibe mixed with Irish Spring Soap that apparently some newer versions don't have which to me gives it a little bit of character but could see how it could be off-putting to others. Haven't tried the new one as I have a lifetime supply of the vintage.
I just got the vintage bottle a yesterday, I have the aftershave as well now that I got at the same time. I love Caesars man ( the legendary cologne version / original formula) it’s one of my all time favorites I’d take it over sung Homme any day but sung Homme is awesome and I totally know what you mean by that slight smokey vibe it has to it, I sort of get that in the newer version as well I don’t get much difference between the two really but the original seems even stronger
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Good to know the DNA is more or less in tact from vintage to current formulation. Curious to know how the A/S smells as well. This is one fragrance that does not need extra performance but wonder how A/S layers with the EDT.
sung homme is awesome, i really want to try G-man but it does not seem to be available at all in the usa, i do not even see it on ebay. One websire called "parfumdreams" has it but they do not ship to the usa i do not think
It’s similar but Paco has that distinct opening but the dry down is similar, I love them both you can’t go wrong with either. Sung Homme is a whole other level of soapy though lol and it’s 15$
I prefer the current formulation of Paco Rabanne Pour Homme to Alfred Sung as an Irish Spring soap bomb. But I know you can't put Paco in every top 5 or 10 list ;)
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey yeah Mugler Cologne smells like straight up hotel bar soap. Very clean and fresh. 3-4 hour longevity. Maybe 1 hour of projection. Great out of the shower scent.
