- On Monday, Lewisburg faced Hernando in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lewisburg Patriots' rough 16-5 loss to the Hernando Tigers might stick with them for a while. Lewisburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hernando apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Saturday.
Lewisburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Bennett, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Samuel Richardson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

At the plate, Hernando got a massive performance out of Luke Romine, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Martin, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Lewisburg's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Hernando, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewisburg will take on Southaven at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hernando, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Horn Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Horn Lake is coming into the game with 11 straight defeats on the road, meaning Hernando will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.

Another example of why “national rankings” at most all levels are dumb. Lewisburg has talent no question but they also struggle in many many areas of the game. Kudos to Hernando on making them pay for all their mistakes
