@@EastonAndSorbet I think most people would only ever tolerate it with something one time or extremely exclusive. We already have the most rare kinds of pokemon not in EX raids so making it harder to obtain something we've already got the better way for wouldn't go over well
the old encounter animations were actually really special to me because I heard about their release and wanted to see for myself so I immediately opened the game to try it out and my very first encounter was a SHINY gastly✨ (which is literally my favorite family of Pokémon) animation and all! I didn’t think to record it or screenshot when I saw it and now I get sad whenever I remember that the animations ever existed
Has everyone forgotten about the original tracking system? The 3, 2, 1, foot print tracking is what Pokemon GO is all about in my mind, and they took it out after less than a week I believe? In my opinion, that is the biggest loss in the games history. The core mechanic that the game was supposed to be built around was removed immediately and we were left playing a crippled version of the game for the rest of the last 6 years.
They should've left the incense buffs alone it makes using incenses so much more worthy of having them I barely use them now as it is. EX raids never experienced them I believe they should make the mythical Pokémon like Mew,Jirachi, and Celebi with their shiny forms available like any shiny eligible raids. It would give them their own class of raids. Weekly research boxes really need more worthy Pokémon in them they should be rotating all legendary Pokémon in the game currently like they start with the birds then the beasts to groudon kyogre rayquaza and so on. It would make them more appealing to complete weekly research tasks. I get it Niantic is trying to make the game as it once was but I think they should try to compromise a little bit and come to a middle ground with their player base. These are just some ideas that most of us have thought and some topics in Pokémon GO for a while now. One last thing is I have a question for anyone here ; Do you think community days need to be better with featured Pokémon or longer time periods for CD or do you think community days are fine the way they are? Just something because I'm curious to see if anyone has ideas for this.
Imo*. I think the CDs are worse bc of the 3 hour period and the incense nerf. Why nerf both of them instead of just one? Like a 3 hour period but the incense buffed or possibly a 6 hour cday but incense nerfed. They really need to fix this for the people without any stops or gyms near them :/
My thing with the cd hours ig it they don’t want to bring 6 hours back for every single one then don’t. But make it a perk like the 4 star raids after 2 are of the incense spawning starvias. So let’s say out of the 11 one Pokémon cdays (not counting December com day rap up for this one) make it to we’re 3-4 of those are 6 out com day and the others are a mix of the other perks like 4 star raids or incense 2 stage mons. I would love for cdays to be back to 6 hours but I think this would be a good comprised if used right. Like don’t give the 6 hour widow to a mon like hoppip or geodud give it to a mon like deino or the new mon stufful. This is just my opinion also sorry for the bad grammar
They also killed the Insence and shortened community day to half the time so bye bye versitality. Niantic really thinks they can shorten it bc "only 17% of people play 3 hours or more blah blah blah". Really ruined it for me since I have zero anything in the area and 2 spawns per 10 minutes walking around the house.
So nostalgic. I remember them all and miss many of them, especially the incense. It made treadmill runs more fun when I couldn’t go outside. And ex raids were so fun because you knew people would be there.
In one Trainertips video he explained the “tip/trick” of splitting the healing power of one hyper potion between two different Pokémon by tapping them at the same time. That “feature” was quickly removed after his video… and I was sad.
I love how I didn't return to this game until literally AFTER ALL of these bonuses. March of 2022...managed to get Celebi research. And that's it. Missed Apex Ho-Oh :(
I loved EX Raids but they are sorta annoying because when i had my first EX raid Mewtwo i got there 5 minutes late and the raid had already been completed by all of the players that got invites. I still wish they could add it back though for some new mythicals
I missed Ex Raids. It brought the community together and actually had communication amongst each other. Yea you have community day but not everyone is there talking to each other. With EX raids, you had to show up on time, talk to people, get with friends/add friends, and organize groups with same team to get the most potential premier balls. I met so many new people back in the day showing up for EX raids. It felt like the initial trailer of pokemon Go where people were chasing Mewtwo around NY
I remembered the Legendary Research Breakthroughs. Back in 2019, around August-October and counting (if I recall correctly,) whenever I completed Research Breakthroughs, I’d get a Legendary. The only three I’ve ever gotten before that feature was removed was a Moltres, Articuno, and a Groudon. Ever since then, I no longer saw any legendaries and I was like, “Where did they go?” It was fun while it lasted though. I wish I found that Zapdos in the special research though :
I wish the 1 coin for raids. I never do raids, mostly because I don't want to spend 100 coins on a pass. Also, If a friend invites you to a raid, it doesn't show you how many people are in there.
I feel niantic could drive hype up for remote raiding hints why they removed it from the discount. If they were to bring it back it would make demand go up because players will want to maximize the potential of their purchases and think there’s a chance the deal could leave again... also this is just an idea I have no factual evidence to backup any claims to clarify.
I miss ex raids. I only got 2 at local gyms and I loved it because I got to see everyone who played near me and we could trade information to create raid groups which are dying off in my area now
My friend often laments the EX Raids being gone. It was the best way to get our community together. People would often send an EX Raid invite to someone they were lucky friends with. The group would get together and then trade after the raid was over. I also kinda miss sending EX Raid invites to force friendship interaction with a few who never open/send.... 😉😉😉
I really love all the bonus during covid,it make the game way easier to play, and I don’t have to go out in a hot summer for special events or a raid boss I want to raid.
There is a weird subtle animation left: if you make Swirlix your buddy, once in a while when on the buddy screen, it will slowly roll end over end (that is, it will roll continuously, but only once in a while will that animation show up on the buddy screen). It's goofy and cute.
they also removed having to tap your screen to power your charge attacks in pvp oh and they removed specific moves from pokemons move pools all the way back in 2016 but if you have a pokemon with that move it still has it. for example, porygon with quick attack
What about the Pokémon tracker feature where it showed how many “feet” away it was and you could track them down in the wild with the “nearby” feature.
The EX Raids could be a pain in some ways, but there's such nostalgia there. I nerded out, and for a LONG time my facebook picture was an AR shot of me with Mewtwo.
Remembered all of them except encounter animations since i think it was in that few weeks i didnt play the game when it was added and removed or i just didnt notice it i first learnd of it when watching one of ur vids
I remember my first ex raid when I saw 40-50 other people and when we did beat it, the building (or gym) workers were confused because it was screaming etc.
I loved the ex raids! It was so much fun to coordinate them and see everyone who got the pass. Hopefully, they will bring them back, but who knows? They haven’t removed the ex raid gym status yet, so maybe?
For the weekly remote pass box, I can see why they've got rid of it since it looks like the world is (slowly) getting back to normal & Niantic wants people to get back outside, but I do wish they would bring them back though. As for the ex-raids, I can remember getting a pass to do a ex-raid, but I was gutted I couldn't do it because no one was available to do the raid.
I really miss the 1 coin remote raids. I'd play with my friends that lived far away, it was a good time. Now we don't play as often because we don't all have enough coins at one time to buy passes.
Hearing about all this stuff I missed, me being a player for about 1-2 years now, this makes me cry. I’ve missed SO much and this makes me wish even more that I would have listened to my siblings and download PoGo earlier
I’m noticing myself and many of my friends who were playing a lot during Covid barely logging in anymore once they started to remove the quality of life bonuses that honestly saved their game during quarantine. Getting rid of the weekly Remote Raid passes, nerfing incenses, shortening Community Day Events, removing the Free Ultra Balls on Community Day, and the underwhelming weekly research rewards have many less eager to log in. All the changes look designed to encourage cash grabs yet people were more willing to spend money when actually playing because they were enjoying the quality of life improvements, tho everything lately feels like a step backwards and in the wrong direction.
The cute animations are random now. They happen when battling. My shiny best buddy celebi dances alot during matches. And my XL mew does it's cute little curl up and giggle like in the show
i remember everything expected (or excepted, idk how to spell it, im not from USA) cutesy animatons and charge moves. And speaking of legendary pokemon from breakthrough(idk how to spell it) like in 2018 i learned how to do Excellents on Ho-OH from it, and in the once of last legendary boxes i catched shiny Zapdos 3*. Why they remove it...
I remember in like the first week of release nearby would actually show you how close you were to a Pokémon so players would have to walk around and figure out which direction would get them closer to the Pokémon and which would take them further away from it. I completely understand the safety issues of the original nearby mechanics but I still miss the hunt of not knowing exactly where the Pokémon was and playing hot cold to find it.
Im not sure if many people can remember, but back when it was released, the Pokemon in your storage would have a map of where they were caught. Im fairly sure they removed it after a few months as it was very performance intensive on the phone
When they said they were going to cut incense, I expected them to cut the time duration, not the timing of spawns. Cutting it to 30 minutes and keeping the 1 per minute would have been FAR better. 30>12.
After Covid we really miss the EX raids and I was hoping they would be reintroduced this summer. Most importantly it's EX raids that started the local raid communities since EX raids were introduced before Community Days which wouldn't have been a success without us meeting locally because of EX raids and raids. When you live in a big town it's very random if you meet other players when Going out because people nowadays use their phones outside for all kind of things as you know. So them standing near a gym tapping fast is almost the only way you can spot another player. EX raids helped local players meeting each other because you were invited to a certain gym at a certain time so you would for sure meet other players. That lead to starting groups on Facebook or whatever social media to coordinate what time to meet and to find out who would turn up to ensure enough players would Go to be able to win the EX raids and of course also other legendary raids. Later you could also invite another player for an EX raid. Always big hype in our local group when EX raid invitations were sent out (especially when schedules were not during normal work/school hours). So EX raids lead to players coordinating raids and also exchange news and views about the game in the social media groups. But during Covid most people didn't play in groups anymore since it was not allowed and also EX raids were cancelled which now means many new players often don't get to meet the experienced players who already are in groups and often don't know where to find local players to group with. That's a shame and that's why we need EX raids to be back asap so we can get all the local players back together again.
The day they added Go Rocket, I encountered a grunt using a Shiny Rattata in battle, but I didn't get to catch it afterward, and have never seen anything like that since. How was that possible?
A couple QoL features were removed too: Emojis in Pokemon names Copying/pasting text sub-menus seemingly trivial, but I was angry about both for months.... still am actually
So I was still hyped about getting the box I've got my only legendary from (Kyogre) only to now get hit in the face that it doesn't drop legendaries anymore?
I remember in 2020 before the pandemic hit, I was still a senior in high school, I did my first (and last) EX raid, because I had gotten a pass as well as a friend, since many other people didn’t get one we started inviting others to the raid and I think the way it worked was if you had a pass you can invite someone else, so we had a HUGE bunch of people from school take down deoxys, and it was pretty fun at our local park that we walked to after school.
I actually just came back to the game after a good couple of years gone. I was surprised there were no more EX raids since there are still gyms labeled as EX gyms
Another removed feature was the old PvP charge move mechanic. Instead of a minigame, you would have to tap the button several times quickly. This was removed due to how often it bugged out for some players, and didn't charge, and the fact that you'd have to tire yourself out to charge it enough.
Pre-pandemic I worked early enough that any time an EX raid was scheduled (usually between noon and 6pm) I could do it, any day of the week. I'm not looking forward to their return because I've since then I've moved, don't have as many EX gyms available, and my work schedule will likely block me from attending most of them. And that's assuming there's even a player base in the areas I'm most likely to attend them, so silver lining if/when they do return is I might be able to find a local group again.
I remember those legendaries in research task, like I am always excited to finish them up, nowadays it felt like "meh" lol I got my hundo zapdos from it and those are the good ol' days
I'm so sad that legendaries are gone from the research breakthrough boxes. I got a shiny Zapdos in one and it was the best moment of my career at the time.
I would like if they brought back ex raids, where if you had an ex raid invite you could remote to it. I always seemed to get ex raid invites to gyms I couldn't get to at the time of the raid. It would still make you work with local communities, but if you were unable to be there, you still had a chance.
The other things are the Speed Raids for Legendary Pokémon and A Featured Pokémon is spawning in the wild during the Go Fest. Is that true that the Squirtle with Sun Glasses Shiny is Guaranteed at the same PokeStop the research has taken?
I remember one time me and my dad beat a rapidash raid in 2019 i think and then it said we were invited to an ex raid, i didn't know what it was but when the egg hatched there was a regigigas, at first i thought it was a big taco, but we didn't do the raid because no one plays out here and there was only two of us against, regigigas, or the big taco.
Niantic is KING of removing features that improved the gameplay experience, and the absolute GODS of continuously making this game worse at every possible opportunity. It's astounding to me that there are people (myself included) that still play this game. Each time I turn it on I wonder "why am I still playing this?". I don't have an answer...
I got an ex raid once, showed up right on time and no one else was there, waited and no one came. Just made me realize that they need to rework raids so they can be done solo. A raid's difficulty/rewards should be based on how many players are there. That way even if you don't have friends or a community to play with, you can still play.
The animations are still in the game, but are just used for playing with your buddy. If you click on your buddy to play with it, it will do the same animations that was previously shown.
I miss EX raids as in my area and possibly all of my city, I got the first EX raid for mewtwo, it was so long ago the gym isn't even a gym anymore it's a pokestop.
I completely forgot about those encounter animations. They were a really nice addition. I wonder if they were removed for network issues and extra strain on peoples mobile data
another quality of life feature that was removed was friendlier idle animations for sent out buddy pokemon in ar. Now most bird pokemon don't really like standing on the ground anymore.
What about in the early days when you had that chance to find one use incubators in pokestops, that’s what I miss

@@EastonAndSorbet I think most people would only ever tolerate it with something one time or extremely exclusive. We already have the most rare kinds of pokemon not in EX raids so making it harder to obtain something we've already got the better way for wouldn't go over well
@@AcheronZayan they won't allow it to be remoted
Ik
From todays Starly CM and just having a stationary incense, I do miss the buffed incense the most.
The encounter animations were gone so fast I almost thought I imagined them. Nice to know that they were real after all.
the old encounter animations were actually really special to me because I heard about their release and wanted to see for myself so I immediately opened the game to try it out and my very first encounter was a SHINY gastly✨ (which is literally my favorite family of Pokémon) animation and all!
I do feel like there should be a way to track spawns that aren't linked to pokestops for sure
I honestly think for the research break through boxes it should give you a pokemon you may not have even if its legendary pokemon
My first legendary I caught (ex raid) was a mewtwo on Christmas Day, 2017
What a gift
Anyone else ever miss the EX raids like all the time, or go and realise no one actually showed up unless you were in a city…..
yeah I miss it. Had a great community.
I love how I didn't return to this game until literally AFTER ALL of these bonuses. March of 2022...managed to get Celebi research. And that's it. Missed Apex Ho-Oh :(
Shiny Legendaries from competing the 7 day research was the best!!
I loved EX Raids but they are sorta annoying because when i had my first EX raid Mewtwo i got there 5 minutes late and the raid had already been completed by all of the players that got invites. I still wish they could add it back though for some new mythicals
I REALLY miss the EX raids. It was such a happy surprise when I opened the game & the pass popped up!
The boxes they've had recently suck, hell one just gave you a TM and a poffin
I remembered the Legendary Research Breakthroughs. Back in 2019, around August-October and counting (if I recall correctly,) whenever I completed Research Breakthroughs, I’d get a Legendary. The only three I’ve ever gotten before that feature was removed was a Moltres, Articuno, and a Groudon. Ever since then, I no longer saw any legendaries and I was like, “Where did they go?” It was fun while it lasted though. I wish I found that Zapdos in the special research though :
I MISS WEAKLY RAID PASSES
I wish the 1 coin for raids. I never do raids, mostly because I don't want to spend 100 coins on a pass.
Also, If a friend invites you to a raid, it doesn't show you how many people are in there.
I feel niantic could drive hype up for remote raiding hints why they removed it from the discount. If they were to bring it back it would make demand go up because players will want to maximize the potential of their purchases and think there’s a chance the deal could leave again... also this is just an idea I have no factual evidence to backup any claims to clarify.
I miss ex raids. I only got 2 at local gyms and I loved it because I got to see everyone who played near me and we could trade information to create raid groups which are dying off in my area now
I loved the legendary research breakthroughs. I don't remember exactly when, but at some point I got a hundo Raikou from one
Nice
I loved the remote raids during covid and now it’s gonna be impossible for me to get legendary from raids nothing can top it
they also removed having to tap your screen to power your charge attacks in pvp
oh and they removed specific moves from pokemons move pools all the way back in 2016 but if you have a pokemon with that move it still has it. for example, porygon with quick attack
Ummm don’t forget our community day 30 free ultra balls they took that away too. With out telling us
That's why i see "ex-raid gym" I always thought that a raid just happened there
What about the Pokémon tracker feature where it showed how many “feet” away it was and you could track them down in the wild with the “nearby” feature.
I believe it was replaced with the nearby list
The EX Raids could be a pain in some ways, but there's such nostalgia there. I nerded out, and for a LONG time my facebook picture was an AR shot of me with Mewtwo.
I don’t want EX raids to come back. I thought it was the worst feature to have. The times were so random and did not work well in my community
Exactly, I couldn’t do them and nobody was ever there so I had to go all the way back and made my mom mad so I just never did them again
Remembered all of them except encounter animations since i think it was in that few weeks i didnt play the game when it was added and removed or i just didnt notice it i first learnd of it when watching one of ur vids
Waiting for him to change it back to 6
I remember my first ex raid when I saw 40-50 other people and when we did beat it, the building (or gym) workers were confused because it was screaming etc.
It says 7 in the title but he starts it off with 6
The cutesy animations were brought back to the current version but only when placing a pokemon in a showcase
I loved the ex raids! It was so much fun to coordinate them and see everyone who got the pass. Hopefully, they will bring them back, but who knows? They haven’t removed the ex raid gym status yet, so maybe?
I started in December 2019. So I only remember/have experienced two of the 7 removals. The 1 PokeCoin remote raid pass bundle and the buffed incense.
U never disappoint
For the weekly remote pass box, I can see why they've got rid of it since it looks like the world is (slowly) getting back to normal & Niantic wants people to get back outside, but I do wish they would bring them back though. As for the ex-raids, I can remember getting a pass to do a ex-raid, but I was gutted I couldn't do it because no one was available to do the raid.
Noti gang
Yes sir
Same
yessir indeeddd
Yes sir
I really miss the 1 coin remote raids. I'd play with my friends that lived far away, it was a good time. Now we don't play as often because we don't all have enough coins at one time to buy passes.
I only started playing late last year, and I JUST found my first EX gym the other day.
Hearing about all this stuff I missed, me being a player for about 1-2 years now, this makes me cry. I’ve missed SO much and this makes me wish even more that I would have listened to my siblings and download PoGo earlier
i still got a 2019 shiny zapdos and lugia from the breakthrough box
I never knew about the new animations, but I do remember ex raids and they were pretty fun.
Man I miss the legendary breakthrough boxes. I got a shiny Ho-Oh and a shiny Kyogre back when they were available
The day they added Go Rocket, I encountered a grunt using a Shiny Rattata in battle, but I didn't get to catch it afterward, and have never seen anything like that since. How was that possible?
A couple QoL features were removed too:
Emojis in Pokemon names
Copying/pasting text sub-menus
seemingly trivial, but I was angry about both for months.... still am actually
My favourite accidental feature was when photobomb shinies would actually show on the overworld map as shiny.
I miss legendaries in research, I remember getting a shiny kyogre in a research
The first and only shiny legendary Pokémon I own was a Groudon from a research box. Still miss when they used to be good.
I miss the pixel models for your Pokémon every Pokémon celebration
I remember the days when my area doesn't have any gyms so my only way to get legendaries from the weekly research task box
My little sister got a hundo m2 back when ex raids got introdused
dude i was actually lucky enough to catch a shiny articuno from the research box and its still my pride and joy
I remember when I got shiny kyogre from the end of week research reward I was going crazy
another quality of life feature that was removed was friendlier idle animations for sent out buddy pokemon in ar. Now most bird pokemon don't really like standing on the ground anymore.
I remember a feature that wasn't mentioned, it's the April fools event where the Pokédex was updated to become 8-bit it was honestly adorable.
I just realized the cutesy animations are the same like when you play with your Buddy.
