- Realistic battlefield effects, targets that shoot back with laser technology, and an enhanced system to track training performance are among the features of the Singapore Armed Forces' new Murai Urban Battle Circuit, which will open from April 2024. CNA's Davina Tham tried her hand at the training. cna.asia/49mLA4x

Let the soldiers play paintball every week. Confirm will improve reflex, teamwork and strategy skill.
Was watching this and the ch8 feature, is it just me or are the helmets loaned to the reporters too small?
I guess surplus and for loan... They are not going to war zone anyway... No need for blue helmets...
her head too big to fit in🤣🤣
1:09 Designated enemy forever holding AK47. 😂
It's reliable, it's relatively easy to make, easy to maintain, easy to repair and most importantly, every component that makes up the tool is in the public domain.
Well, at least, that's what was the plan when they released the schematics to counter their version of near peer adversaries.
Wow I've never done any infantry stuff since BMT, except for one of those hostage simulation range during ICT. Got posted to arty.
The future of military training as it’s finest.
Wow! Whole new meaning to Bruce Lee's quote of "Boards don't hit back!"
Sounds like the warehouse peep found a stockpile of gen 2 uniforms...
I have idea of a speedy r.c instead that the person considered as "running", I think enemy don't do this, like a patrol, if not we can't be shocked they keep being at points to "surprise", if create skillsfuture quick block training for that moment at all martial art group too, block from hit and disallow grasp while having nothing, holding a plastic bag, holding a sling bag, wearing a bag.
We have Opfor for this?
Yeah man they should just improve the sensor equipment for Opfor and introduce AR/VR technology for simulator rather than crappy drone with camera that can shoot back LOL.
@an7842
There's only one use case of a crappy drone with camera that can shoot back though, and that's when it's being used as a drone that can shoot and not die. (i.e. literally an autonomous or semi-autonomous weapon, or a 50cmx50cm flying drone with the capability to shoot.)
Other than that, 100% agree that should improve opfor.
That's what I thought too, then I realised this could be the first step to have robots fight for us
Yeah I wonder why all this was done when OPFOR is there. Humans can creep, crawl, hide, escape and call your bluff. Much more challenging than just a static target waiting for you to open the door.
@@SharkbaitOhLalathat's what ATEC is for.... Crawl, Walk, Run. This is like Walk. ATEC then you vs human OPFOR
No firing blanks no recoil might as well play vr in camp with rifle.... save the space build hdb better
No need reload too!
Don't need practice knowing how much bullets in the magazine
Don't need practice keeping magazines away
Don't need practice tactical loading
Don't need practice having magazine discipline
Play arena breakout then. Hahhaha
Hormat SAF
Is it from ST engineering ideal? Imagining the equipment and stuff we had to carry for hours of walking distances😂
its ok the maid will carry the soldiers equipment
by the time reached the battlefield all will be out of breath fighting the enemies🤣🤣
We must spend more. Fund with taxation is prudence. Great for Gamers
1:56, 2:01, 2:06, 2:19, 2:37 Not shaming the journalist but, without basic instruction, that's very dangerous. That is no different from pasting AED on yourself and wondering why the patient is not getting shocked.
This should not be a replacement for any form of Opfor as humans are a lot more complicated and creative than standing pop targets.
Other complains are: No recoil, no feedback, no reload training, no training to have discipline to put non filled magazines in the right order (i.e. tactical reload), and most importantly, NO IA DRILL (this is one reason why forward assist exists on a different rifle platform). See the red light feedback at the front of the barrel, she is just depressing the entire mechanism between 2:05-7.
Also no learning from pain (i.e. paintball or airsoft).
What a waste of resources. There is something to be learnt from being a defender and attacker, and the debrief that takes place after the exercise.
in real war, enemies wouldnt just stand down there and let you shoot😂😂
That's why there's such a thing ATEC right where u train against human OPFOR....by logic, lets remove target shooting straight away just because in real war a board wont shoot back. LOL
@@johnwig285 cant imagine how SAF going to fight a real war, all will be dead🤣🤣
@@Tony.L9793 Whenever i feel down and dumb, i think of commentators like you who leave NPC comments on UA-cam.
Shooting range improve the shooting, aiming and reloading speed.
Just play paintball!
The walkie talkie helmet look like covid mushroom head👍👍🏳️🏳️🏳️🏳️
This seems way too slow to be useful for training
Also humans are a lot more complicated than that.
Shooting like this assumes that your target is the same as a shooting range target, who:
1. doesn't move
2. isn't paying enough attention to shoot on sight
3. doesn't fire from any other position than standing
4. doesn't drop and fire
5. doesn't hide behind obstacles
6. doesn't react to explosive device
7. doesn't hurt you or your team enough that you need to perform cover fire and aid at the same time.
@@albinoasesino Right, those are all issues as well. If it was fast enough then it would at least have some limited usefulness.
real life warfare enemies wouldnt be so stupid to stand down there let you shoot, they will hide at one corner to ambush you first😂😂
Low brith rate, not enough soldiers for Opfor lol.
Leave it to MINDEF to be mediocre in everything they do.
Some high-up bright ideas and some cheap MVP, that's what you get...
Saf new toy ,waste of money, soon to be indefinitely malfunctioning & to be kept in store😂
Not faulting the reporter, but they should have at least trained her to hold the rifle properly before doing the simulation.
The butt is not even rested against her shoulder when she shoots. If it were live/blank rounds, her shots will be all over the place.
Despite the huge defense budget, SAF showed the world how incompetent and unprofessional their soldiers can be in warfare. They are poor at urban warfare, unrealistic scenarios, no proper door breaching, failed CQB, and brazenly shot through hostage during hostage rescue. If Singaporeans are taken hostage and hear that SAF is coming to your rescue, say your last words because you have a high chance of not coming out alive.
You spelt Hsien* wrongly
"If Singaporeans are taken hostage and hear that SAF is coming to your rescue, say your last words because you have a high chance of not coming out alive."
Have you ever heard of the SQ117 hijack and Laju hijack? I implore you to search these incidents up first before embarrassing yourself here 🤣
Wasting public resources
@deschan2246 AH ha. Are you, a Second Class Malaysian Citizen jealous that SG can afford to spend while you have to wait for subsidies from your govt. The Bumis get it first before you.
look so cheapo
