    Ok.. so I am seeing all these images of grand columns and beautiful underground spaces...... and these are being shared as though THAT is what is underneath St SLouis.... (and Kansas)... but this news story is weaselly .. those are images of cisterns probably in Rome or Europe!.. NOT St Louis... Bad click bait.

    • @1Bonnie777
      @1Bonnie777 4 місяці тому +2

      There are underground buildings like that all over the world. It was the civilization that got flooded. It was absolutely in St. Louis. Many of those buildings were so tall, that the upper portions are used today, with the bottom portions covered in the mud flood. You probably have those old buildings in your city, that you've overlooked.

    I just retired from a career of cultural resource survey. I have seen thousands of these brick-lined cisterns. Indeed, I have one next to my house with a shallow well drilled at the bottom. Cistern and well still very much in use.

    I grew up near Manchester & McCausland & that’s not dog town. Dog town is up on the other end of McCausland by Forest park. Lived in a 4 family flat just north of McCausland & Plateau & there was a cave entrance across the alley behind the flat. The entrance was closed with concrete. Don’t know if it’s still published but there used to be a book that showed the location & history of the caves & mines in STL. Always heard that Dewey school was sitting over an old mine.

    Ooh! I always wondered if the cistern under my room which has been filled in with dirt has a hidden secret based on some dreams I had! Like I had a dream that there is a hidden tunnel with a cover or hatch to get into mines and a crypt?? I live right next to a church! Talk about creepy lol.... Also there is a good chance since limestone is everywhere here in New Oxford there may be a powerful hidden secret here at least 30 ft under the ground from those visions I had!
    I always wondered why has a lot of this history is destroyed and covered over! I absolutely despise this destruction of history. I mean it's below the basment line! incorperate it into the design! Now its buried for another 40 years or more lol.... 😳😱
