Companies really shouldn't do in-display fingerprint scanners if they can't do it properly. People prefer reliable scanner on the back than an unreliable one below the display.
The front design of this phone is incredible. I don't know why companies make it so complicated. The bezels are ok, nothing anormal. You can add big selfie cameras sensors on it, and overall sensors on it. Of course the super small bezels we have currently are amazing, but companies should also offer phones like this. You can also put 2 front facing speakers with a design like this

you don't do justice to this phone with this review as well as at your website....you compare it with p30 pro and auto jpegs quality is nearly same on both..but in edited raw photo Nokia 9 is far more superior in detailing , dynmic range, color reproduction ...however u have written that raw image of p30 pro may produce same results. ..why did not u compare best results of both. ...it will help potential buyers to make decisions.(I am following nearly all reviews of as I have a requirement of a good camera phone preferably within $800) ..it seems a very lazy comparison with some assumption in favour of p30 pro..if u have do comparison do it properly with conclusive results otherwise don't. ..though overall review was good and detailed. .

the problem is nokia always have the same issue which is its camera software. The 5 lenses prove that you can get a sharper details and good dynamic range and the picture came out looks natural . Underexposed problem can be easily fixed unlike an overexposure picture. About the night mode, who needs night mode when you have manual control over the iso, exposure, shutter speed. And the lacking of ois doesnt mean the camera is suck. Nokia 9 is made for photography enthusiast and not for those who likes to point and shoot

Does the camera app give you the option to choose what framerate to capture video in? Does the recorded audio have those low ~100Hz frequencies when recording video?
This review is well understood. All models in the first released have bugs need to be fixed till the next software updates. That is why in the first place camera processing is slow also the fingerprint scanner. Take time to wait in the next release where it all become responsive.
There is no next version of it, so do buy one if you are interested with it. Do remember that HMD Nokia only makes 100 million unit of this phone, so it has now become a rare item.
The brand was sold to HMD which is a company set up by former Nokia employees. They design the phones. It is then made by Foxconn which bought the manufacturing, distribution, and sales arms of Nokia. So, it isn't Nokia but in a way it is I suppose.

As it has been presented, it takes an awful amount of time to process the photos. Just imagine that in an everyday situation. I want to make a pic of my friends posing in front of something and if they blinked in the moment I pressed the button, then we're fucked. And the camera tends to crash down. Also, that thing with the biometric locks is pathetic. Face recognition is not safe, the fingerprint scanner is not functioning efficiently. Furthermore, storage cannot be upgraded over 128 GB, while the photo taking process needs a pretty large amount of storage. If there is something that gets me off a smartphone is that it's not being quick enough, especiallly when it's a high-en device. Also, it might be great for some people to photoshop the picture in post edit, but I'm just not one of those and I'd imagine most people aren't either. I realize that it is intended to be a good device for photographers, but in that case let's not advertise it as a flagship device.

I believe the 9 PureView uses the IMX386 for each of it's cameras, and it is a CMOS sensor. I can see why you would think the 9 PureView has CCD sensors a) because of the high power draw of the camera and b) because the images have some of the subjective qualities associated with CCD sensors (tonal range is reminiscent of a medium format camera for example).

Felt great when played with at Best buy. Every photo I took was blurry though which was troubling. Front facing photos and bokeh were great though! Wasn't able to see what software version since they had it locked. 10 points for design at least

Why companies do crazy weird bad ugly stuff to hide the selfie camera and the bezels when we have an incredible amazing front design like this one from the Nokia 9? No need to notch, motorized selfie camera, punch hole... Just use this design.
Previously The reason behind the death of Nokia mobile was the software. Not the hardware at that time their cameras was shining but software wasn't the choice of everyone. And today they are doing the same thing focusing on the competition not improving their software.

This is where Nokia can shine, as it has produced some of the most iconic looking phones in history. And that could be its biggest selling point, IF THEY TRY

It shoots in raw which is why it you think it's "underexposed" but it's really not

But is Google, they probably analyzed tons of data and images of the users, and they know how to make it work on their OS.
Software based photos are fake like they are Photoshoped, camera based photoes are real, it is same as what your eyes see.
It's all in the software u know it.. Processing is key.. Google is king of this.. Like V40 is king of audio

I remember the Nokia N8 i used to have. I still got some pictures i took with it. Great camera, wonderful details.
The N8 camera is still a revolution. Sony only started to create a camera sensor with 1.8 micron pixel TEN years later after the N8! Utter madness!

Because Nokia 9 beats both of those phones everywhere else but not in low light. They just don't want break illusion that P30 have great camera.
Remember Nokia 9 can take raw photo which means you can exposure or tune low light or low exposure image.
Because it would beat the so called costly flagships. Most reviewers are not genuine. They are loyal to one brand or another
