    Wow! This is absolutely one of the best tutorials I have seen and there are a lot! Question...most are using a wood piece for the bottom of the shade...do you use the metal simply for the weight or also because it is smaller then wood?

      Yes! The metal is a much slimmer profile and heavier, so it helps pull the shade down when you want to release it.

    I am using blackout on this project. My face fabric is a floral with white background. Since I will be stitching the channels for the dowels, would you be concerned about pinholes in the blackout? Also, my shade will be 84” long. Do you think I should space my dowels 10” apart? Will this be too heavy with so many dowels? Thank you for your tutorial!!!
