You say no one watches these compared to your talking head videos. I just want you to know that they are still important and we appreciate the time and effort you put into making them.
Exactly, there've been so many talking head videos that I stopped watching Eli's channel. But I love his tutorial videos, so I'm back again, being a great fan of his channel.
I really liked the talking head videos but they're getting too long. These are great too. I like Eli's no-nonsense approach no matter what he's talking about.
Just discovered Eli. It's actually hilarious how good Eli is at explaining concepts and then providing real world implementation compared to some of the people I've watched for comptia stuff.
Literally took a break from an actual Cisco training just to see Eli explain the information in his own way. Definitely appreciated as humor keeps you engaged with the actual information as well real life scenarios.
i can't believe that i can learn all these cool things on youtube , pause if i need to ,take a moment to absorb ,take notes or whatever .It is awesome.Thank you
I've seen this model like any IT person a million times & this is indeed one of the most well explained I've ran across! I try teaching my children IT & I will def be sharing this. Thanks!!
I resubbed because I saw you posting these videos again. Will be able to watch them later. I find it really easy to learn from your teaching style, and hope you continue making educational format videos.
Only few people care about your tech videos, because they go obsolete after a while, but your analytic talking head videos are gold to your international audience
To me the OSI Model will always have a special place in my heart. Was the first model that demistified the iner guts and iner workings of Networking... Great video thanks!
The actual OSI model has helped fix more issues as a network/systems engineer than I can care to think about. Advice from an old but young looking IT dude to the "non-boomer" peeps: I'm always learning but as a tech professional of 15 years, do yourself a favor, learn each topic deeply so that you are not just memorizing it. When you do that, you realize that when you're facing an actual issue that needs to be resolved, you will be better prepared to come up with solutions and implement them like a true professional.
Studying for a test I'm scheduled to take later today and of all the studying I've done your video was by far the easiest to understand. Watched this one, and your 13 year old one and they are just so easy and full of information that's actually useful. Wish I'd have found you sooner!
Eli I'm just a newbie in my IT journey but I've been going crazy watching guys like Michael Meyers and Prof Messer that just dont make things relatable or fun like you do. Thank you for what you do amigo. God bless
Hi Eli. I really like you doing a fresh reboot for these topics from the past. I enjoyed your classes on these things years ago and of course i follow the new versions too. Greatings from germany.
Good lesson.👍 I remember watching your old OSI lesson video, a few years ago, and it was very informative. Good to see you made an updated one. Nice work. I really enjoyed watching this. It was very informative.👍
Thank you, I came across your networking videos that are over a decade old, I am glad that you're making modern videos on the subject with all your experience. The osi model as a mentality , which also prevents overwork, which is prevalent in the Technology industry, is also a nice way to look at this video. a large part of troubleshooting is anticipation and knowledge, so it's nice to hear that 99.9% of problems(hard fails?) can be directed at 1 of 7 layers lol. unfortunate that you had to arrange a flight to plug in an ethernet cable, at least we have video-calling now!
I used to watch your video back on 2018 , but after a long time , remembered about your content that's why serached a lot to get your UA-cam profile cz I forgot your channel name . At last , I got you .man
Wow! Haven't heard anyone mention the OSI model in quite some time. I still remember studying that for my Netware 3.x CNE. The cool kids from TCP/IP land used to make fun of me and take away my 3Com cards in the sysadmin playground as they insisted there were only four layers to worry about. Those bullies didn't even care if the NIC was bound to 802.2 or 802.3.
Eli, you never miss. I’ve been following and learning from your content for almost 10 years. You are my go to. I appreciate you. I just have one question: As your video ended, I noticed a roll of what appears to be toilet tissue with the letters “CCNA” on it. Dare I ask what that means? 😂
Had an Air Force major that was passed that I could not get AOL to go through our tunnel. I assume that something g was lacking to allow AOL to be en apaulatwd for VPN tunneling. How so you tell a Mahor that it can't be done? My boss, a contractor, thought I was trying to be difficult but AOl was the only email system that would not work.
i remember there was a user that brought their laptop from home , they closed the lid put it to sleep woke it up on the network and it had the ip address of the dhcp server and workstations got confused as they tried to obtain ip addresses from the laptop
Some guys explain the OSI model with changing characters and foam trains? Others describe it as something similar to a mail delivery system. I guess at the end of the day, Eli gives the concrete specific examples I was looking for. This is the best damn description of the OSI model and re subbed for more examples from future videos. You come across as an asshole at times, but I guess that means you speak my language lol.
5 and 7 sometimes trip me up. At least when they give you a whole load of 3 letter acronyms on the exam. My teacher who was a punch card era programmer didn't explain it very well in uni oh well.
Learn from IT support team to kick tickets to other team (desktop or network or application etc). End of the day SLA, that's all that matters, because that's what your boss is gonna judge you on. Real life.
Yes. You know better. Course. You spend 25 years........... So pls don't die with that's. Valuable knowledge. Give us. For free or low price. Pls sir. I bag you
Your tech videos aint getting much views not because ppl arent interested in your tech videos but other factors. Here's my suggestion: 1) clickbait titles 2) 100% focus on tech, any non-tech will simply dilute your channel, create a 2nd channel for non-tech, that way ull do well for both channels rather than mixing both in 1 3) Project based videos

Still watching, great tutorials!
Just discovered Eli. It's actually hilarious how good Eli is at explaining concepts and then providing real world implementation compared to some of the people I've watched for comptia stuff.
I'm a systems and applications admin and this explanation of the osi layer is actually more useful/helpful then the way I learned it from a book.
IT newbie here but Eli breaking things down REALLY provides useful perspective over textbook examples.
Miss these classes, I'm always able to understand your lessons better than others
Literally took a break from an actual Cisco training just to see Eli explain the information in his own way. Definitely appreciated as humor keeps you engaged with the actual information as well real life scenarios.
same here..
Amazing stuff, Eli. The story telling incorporated with the practicality of the OSI model cannot be overvalued.
i can't believe that i can learn all these cool things on youtube , pause if i need to ,take a moment to absorb ,take notes or whatever .It is awesome.Thank you
I missed these classes so much. It feels like it's been years. Thanks, Eli.
I've struggled for the past 2 weeks in understanding the OSI model. This video made it make sense. Thank you dude.
I've seen this model like any IT person a million times & this is indeed one of the most well explained I've ran across! I try teaching my children IT & I will def be sharing this. Thanks!!
Best IT channel on UA-cam. Hands f****** down
You’re an awesome teacher. Currently studying for network+… I find your videos explain concepts better than my coursework.
Did you pass it? N+? And what are you doing now?
I resubbed because I saw you posting these videos again. Will be able to watch them later. I find it really easy to learn from your teaching style, and hope you continue making educational format videos.
I love the "Its not my problem" routine he does--breaks me up

I'm misty eyed but not mystified.

About to take the Network+ and this was helpful well beyond the test and cert. Thanks for your time and unique style.

Wow.. after a long time I am back again to learn & Here He is back again to Teach ... Nice to see you back & You still look the same Young
Thanks!
Well this is actually a good explanation of the OSI model.
I am not sure why the way you explain information it makes sense. Thank you for these videos!
Eli I'm just a newbie in my IT journey but I've been going crazy watching guys like Michael Meyers and Prof Messer that just dont make things relatable or fun like you do. Thank you for what you do amigo. God bless
How it is going?
Glad to see you recovered from Covid, mate. You're sharp as a tack!! Man did I miss these videos!!
Great Job Eli. thank you for doing this. Very appreciated. Sometimes you are late, but you are always on time.
Nobody can explain the OSI model like uncle Eli can 🍻
Hi Eli. I really like you doing a fresh reboot for these topics from the past.

Good lesson.👍

Eli I love your shelf... and also your teaching! Thank you!
just saw your 13 years old video and its still awesome
Have you made a video on TCP windowing yet if so what video is it in?
Thanks Eli! This is a very timely video for me since I’m studying for my AWS Solutions Architect exam.
shut up randy
yelp
Great refresher. Didn't realize I remembered as much of the model as I did. Definitely useful of isolating responsibilities.

unfortunate that you had to arrange a flight to plug in an ethernet cable, at least we have video-calling now!
Glad you're still doing these.
From your 2010 OSI model video to your 2022 OSI model man you have change a lot haha. Very well explained in both the video tho.
How did he change? Other than he no longer has the orange shirt.
Hey Eli, do you have that visual somewhere available for download? The one with the colored boxes.
I like your explanation of the session layer
Would it be possible to first use the tcp/ip model first and if it didn't work use the opi model? Or would not not be efficient enough?
Funny, I have always called "Layer 8" a user error. But great video, it really made some of these concepts click.
That was the best explanation of the OSI model ever
So session limit is like.setting maximum concurrent connections right?
This video is an absolute masterpiece
I used to watch your video back on 2018 , but after a long time , remembered about your content that's why serached a lot to get your UA-cam profile cz I forgot your channel name . At last , I got you .man
What LAYER would a Network Admin most likely use ?
is http a part of os or browsers ? and all application layer protocols are they part of os ???
This was super helpful. Thanks for all you do 🙏🏻
Very informative video. Im currently reviewing for CCNA test and your new playlist for Networking really helps a lot. Thank you and more powers Eli.
Now THAT is content worth paying money for!

Thank you Eli. You do good for people.
Why is my Comtia ITF+ Study guide trying to explain TCP/IP with the DoD model? I'm so confused.
ITF+ is a waste of time
Did you go through SWCS?
Thanks! Excellent refresher and I enjoyed the humor within. This is good stuff I will use when I troubleshoot the network for my new florist shop. 😉
Never have I clicked on a video notification faster.

Good work Eli. Thanks
