It is honestly a nice respite from the woke "months of worship" of some such group of the week. This is just about people having fun, singing happy songs, welcoming spring. Having a drink with friends and making new ones, Irish or Irish at heart. Young and old alike!
Not sure what reasons they could give for cancelling it. The Irish helped build New York and a lot of Americans have at least some Irish heritage. And the Irish were historically persecuted too.

Most of the bands arnt Irish and waving mainly American flags with American soldiers and cops and American Bands NO sign of Irish Soldiers or Gardi (Irish Police ) and no floats with any traditional Irish bands or Irish Dancing .. Which begs the question.. Is it getting more and more American Scotish and European as the years go on : ( : (
