for anyone wondering, the intent of the phrase バカって言ったほうがバカだから is like "calling someone stupid makes you the stupid one" or more general "someone who calls someone else stupid is actually the stupid one"
since kanades translation on screen might be a bit hard to understand (even though the context it's used in later in the clip gives it away)

@@zakral1yeah, this is a classic retort if you yourself are being baka'd. but it can also be said when not being directly involved. japanese in general and also kanades sentence in particular has a lot of omitting to it where the context of the conversation (or situation) fills in the gaps so there isn't one exact meaning to this sentence, which is why i kept it pretty general. for example as you said if friend A baka'd you then you'd retort with that sentence, so friend A is a dumbo. but you could use this same phrase when talking to your friend A about friend B and earlier on the conversation you talked about how B is always called stupid by his boss at work. in that situation you can still use the exact same phrase but it's clear who this is aimed at through the conversational context. here you are also talking to friend A and saying this phrase but since you are talking about friend B and his boss you are not implying that friend A is stupid but that Bs boss, who is baka-ing friend B, is the one who is actually stupid. sorry for the lengthy explanation, just thought that might be helpful

Kanade's English is jarringly good. Her accent sounds way more Western and is clearer, almost Coco level, than most of the other JP Holomems like Lui, Haachama, and even A-chan who speak it more frequently.

@@Mari-Schimmer Ririka can hold an 8 hours of English only stream without slipping Japanese even once in her Poppy Playtime stream. I think, Kanade is only better at pronunciation. Ririka still more fluent than her in general term.
Ririka has a larger vocabulary but some people just have an ear for pronunciation. Kanade and from what I'm led to believe, Gura when she's speaking Japanese.

it ask what is “dog” in Japanese which can be both 3 and 4 but it’s different because 犬(いぬ) stand for “dog” while こぼ stand for “anjing” which is slightly different

It would be nice to expect better performances when 3D comes out. I heard that Hajime dances very well.
@@curiouspasserby7620 They're supposed to be a unit, so their activities are group oriented (Ex: They have to practice together), but aside from that, their activities don't differ much from the rest of Hololive.
Also, DEV_IS is actually a different branch of HoloPro, separate from Hololive and Holostars, so they're technically not HoloJP, but all the current members do content primarily in japanese.
@@Nathan-nk2wk i thought DEV_IS is just a sub branch of HoloJP like Holo Gamers.
Like how Gamers is more to the game side, Dev_is is more to music side.
