The problem rn is the threat of Russia restoring the Soviet Union. If Europe won’t bend the knee to the US, they will have to fight the war themselves. Russia is a powerful country in terms of military prowess. Russian hackers can easily destroy Europe’s infrastructures in absence of US intelligence. They are not ready to protect themselves. They need to stop banning US products and encourage a fair and peaceful trades. They also need to pump more money in their own military. They need to be united before even thinking of opposing the US.

And while I talked mostly about the Ukraine war, the same goes for everything else as well, like trade and commerce. I don't trust the bigger countries to think the smaller ones too much. I don't want Europe to be structured according to what France or Germany see fit, more than it already is, which is already a lot, meaning most if it.

On very rare occasions, they may be able to vote for an independent candidate. But, such candidates need the approval of the CCP to appear on the ballot.

I completely agree with you. When the presenter asked one of the guests about the US having 'space, cheap energy, and the money' to drive AI development, and what the EU's response to that could be, the answer was disappointing. Instead of focusing on innovation, developing cheap energy, or fostering competitiveness, the suggestion was to tax the US (together with India and China) and redistribute the money. It’s baffling how some fail to grasp that innovation, entrepreneurship, and business are the true drivers of progress for nations-not this outdated socialist mindset!

Or is it because of the millions of useless regulations and protectionist policies like ‘appellation controllee’ that’s only purpose is to protect cottage industries for political purposes. Of course, I love French charcuterie and cheese, Italian pasta and Spanish olive oil, but you must realize the EU market is a maze of non-tariff regulatory barriers to entry for American products and this is a biased trade policy. The USA may indeed be able to compete given a level regulatory playing field and despite European perception of US products, many of them are equivalent or superior, and in many cases lower cost.

I will be honest: it's easy for most Americans to say we don't buy enough American goods. But the reality is that nearly all our enterprises rely heavily on American technology and services. We pay billions each year to companies like Google, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Cisco, Cloudflare, Broadcom, HP, Dell, Apple, Salesforce, and more. The problem is that these American companies produce almost nothing domestically and have outsourced most of their activities to Asia. That's why many of you don't feel like we are buying "Made in the USA" products.
For example, since I work directly with Microsoft as an IT professional, I have never met any U.S.-based employees. The only people I have been in contact with were Indians working directly from India!
