Working as a care assistant is one of the most sought out and high paying part time jobs in the uk, especially for international students. While working full time as a senior care nurse or care taker requires certain qualifications and previous work experience, working part time as a care assistant does not have any such criteria. This is especially why care assistant jobs are a great fit for international students seeking part-time jobs while studying in the UK. Another reason for its rising popularity is the hourly salary they provide for the care assistants. Due to many wrongful assumptions about a care assistants job role, lots of people prefer not to take up the job. Being a care assistant requires patience, kindness and a willingness to help the elders under your care. In this video I talk about all aspects about care home jobs in the UK and will help you to understand the job much better.
As an international student who was planning on working part time, I did not know much about the work in a care home or how the experience will be for a student.
So, here I share my 4 month experience of working in a care home as a care assistant. This video will be informative for international students.

It's hell tiring and draining. But whenever you move abroad it is difficult not just job but everything. From home sickness to tiring shifts and then if you are unfortunate then hell working place. It's all up to you how much pressure you can take especially care work jobs or teaching. At the moment it's hell in the UK because of overall economic situation. But yes it's definitely better than India and Pakistan 😂because you get good money if you convert it to your home country.

Heard that they giving 2 tier visas in care home jobs its launched recently! but we have to do some care homework which is different as you said kinda taking care of old people but visa ke liye krna padta ha also koi dhanda chota ni hota so good luck buddy hope you get the good opportunity in future!

I have heard stories of people getting into trouble trying to do that. Make sure you do all the procedures legally and don’t believe people coming up with offers telling you they will get you visa. Maximum you can do is getting sponsored directly through the care home that you are working.

As a full timer, yes you will be able to make it if you are working upto 60 hours per week. Plus have extra savings.
Communication can be an issue working with elderly and moving and handling is very important to learn as some people do not handle elderly very well

Hi, I do not know about the MiM graduate s salary. But there are several internships and graduate jobs available after completing studies. And salaries will be pretty good. Internships per year salary will be minimum 19k £ = 19L rupees. And job salary will be much higher.

Yes 8-10 hrs. It can also be 12 hour shift. Varies with Care homes.
If you are working directly under the care home, cash in hand is not possible. But there are agencies that provide cash in hand. Btw cash in hand is illegal in the UK.

Hi.. It depends on the care home. Some take freshers, some don’t. Also for NHS workers you will need sponsors. Since there is PSW now, there won’t be a problem at the moment.

Hi, Yes.. In the beginning you will find it hard.. but you will not be doing it alone. There will be residents who are doubles only, meaning two people will do all the personal care. So it will be easier. There will be residents who are able to stand (with the help of walking frame/rotunda) or shift around on their own, this will help while doing personal care as well.
Overall it’s a matter of learning and getting used to. If you are comfortable with doing the job, you will learn everything in a matter of weeks.

You have to be 18+. As a student doing part time you can only work 20hrs/week (2 days a weeks if it is 10hr shift). If you are working full time you can work 50ish hours a week.
This kind of jobs are done by the ayas in india. Care home jobs seems to be very hard.
