In arizona you need at least one rear view mirror, the gps speedometer, headlight obviously, along with the tail light and the blinkers are optional aswell as the horn!
@CR125MANIAC The wiring has to be secured so that no wires can chafe with lots of cable ties (approx every 15cm) to VOSA standards. This video shows the basic fitting of the kit. Even with the wires insecurely fitted you would get no water damage as all the connectors are fully sealed units. I agree, you could get fire with loose wiring if it rubs against the frame. Even on a new quad / bike it is worth checking the factory fitted wires as they frequently are not well secured
In addition to the kit you need road tyres and on a KTM you need to fit the genuine KTM road legal rear brake caliper. Numberplates are required for MOT but not MSVA
Can most quads be made road legal even if the manufacturer says the quad bike is illegal to use on road? I've got a 1986 Honda Foreman which I want to get on the road
I looked at doing this about 15yrs ago. the rules have changed a bit, there was an "on the raod" kit, but cauld only get it from new for 3yrs, as soon as the first not. came, it failed coz it had no hand break
so your harness for the ktm is it a straight plug and play or is there some splicing /soldering involved . i have searched on google but cant seem to find this "genuine KTMroad legal brake caliper " also asked local ktm dealer they have no clue . Could you tell me what this is /consists of ?
so if i buy this for my brand new 2013 ktm 525xc what else will i require to pass sva test ? are you able to give sizes ect for rims tyres ,light spaces ect ? are front number plates needed now ?
I'm afraid that I don't know the regulations for Canada. You can ask on the streetlegalquads yahoo group what the regs are. The kit provides for a quad all the bits that are missing compared to motorcycles and meets the European rules.
well you might aswell just buy a race quad since you can get them for like 2k and make them road legal because ones that are already road legal are about 4k upwards
depending on the model of quad, £450 for most quads for the kit, plus e-marked tyres (around £300) £105 for MSVA if less than 10 years old, £35 first registration fee with DVLA, then road tax and MOT if over 3 years old. Budget around £1000 to get a sports quad fully road legal
Why would I want to put tape on the harness, cable ties are much neater. The plugs used are fully waterproof the same as the genuine Honda type and don't need to be taped up. If you have no plugs then the kit is not plug and play as you would have to do solder joints or scotchloks which are untidy and look very amateurish. I challenge you to find a neater easier to fit kit compatible with all Japanese sports quads.
it not legal but it is allowed I tinkk :PP because my friend got a house far in the wood in they are no police soo is kinda normal there to ride bike on the street :pp but txs :)
Superb video, my friends and I all run your quadtech road legal kit on our Raptor 700's and Yfz450R's, can't be beaten

I’m afraid that I don’t know the rules in Ireland. You may be able to get it road legal in UK then re-register in Ireland, but I don’t know.

yes, that's what a lot of people do using my kits
Yes if you don't mind doing a few hours work, making brackets, passing MSVA test and doing some paperwork
Where is the front mirrors am sure that is a requirement for a quad in UK to have to be street legal.
How much does this cost overall ?
depending on the model of quad, £450 for most quads for the kit, plus e-marked tyres (around £300) £105 for MSVA if less than 10 years old, £35 first registration fee with DVLA, then road tax and MOT if over 3 years old. Budget around £1000 to get a sports quad fully road legal
@@quadtechuk how much for mvsa if the bike is more than ten years old
@@conormcdade6021 MSVA is not required for bikes and quads over 10 years old. They only need to pass MOT.

@TheDeanh2 quadtech.co.uk Made to order for all models of sports quad
what a heath Robinson job, you cauld have taped the wire to the loom, plan out your route befor, and avoid plugs, you don't want to tape up plugs
