I'm watching the view count decrease as the chapters continue. Seems so odd. Once the series started, one must finish it. Keeps getting better and better.
This is my favorite chapter. Nite Owl was my favorite character in Watchmen. "I think we should spring Rorshach." "What?" LOL! Best dialogue in the chapter.
Personally, I think Nite Owl has the coolest design out of all the Watchmen characters. Don't get me wrong, I love Rorschach, but I was always more of a fan of the classy, colorful and nostalgic superhero look and Nite Owl suits that perfectly!
Professionalism for who though? The voice actor? sure. I don't think the average person could tell it's the same person until Laurie talks for the first time. But for the people producing the entire product? Most motion comics tend to have more than one voice actor.
maybe you answer this question this world of Watchmen is it alter earth of DC comics like the pre crisis earths or post crisis? I read it alter timeline but there is no Batman or Superman in this earth.
In Watchmen The End is Nigh video game they added Twilight Lady to the film canon (since game is using (mostly) film aesthetic) and explained that Rorschach and Nite Owl II fell apart because of her, Rorschach wanted her dead while Dan wanted her alive. It is also how Rorschach ended up with grappling gun. Took it from Dan when they were fighting. It was cool 3D beat em up
@@julioacceus253 yeah I think the problem is that as a filmmaker the elements of Watchmen that he liked and chose to emphasize were different than the comic. He didn't really directly fuck up too much, he just didn't really explore the characters the way Moore did. It's a great action movie but the comic is just really something groundbreaking.
@@julioacceus253 The problem with the movie is that the violence is too stylized. It looks too "Cool." So do the characters. Rorschach is framed like he's Batman in the movie, while the comic wants you to sympathize with him, but isn't really sure if it wants you to even like him. He's a violent extremist who often hurts people without a good reason and just seems to in general hate everyone.
Snyder didn't understand Watchmen at all. He may have been "mostly faithful" to the plot, but the overall atmosphere and aesthetics completely missed the point. The stylized slow motion fight scenes are a great example. As is cutting the newstand/average NY citizens subplot, which was crucial to the themes. The change to the ending was bad too. Much more sanitized and impersonal -- much less impactful. And if you actually consider it it doesn't even make much sense. Dr. Manhattan was too intertwined in human politics. Him going rogue, attacking America, then disappearing may have scared the world into peace for a couple weeks, but in the long term it'd only embolden Russia. The threat needed to seem truly extraterrestrial to work. And having Laurie deliver the "nothing ever changes" line instead of Manhattan? Wtf
Okay it's simple, this isn't a movie or a show. It's a motion comic. Do you know how many people work on real comics ? Usually three or four, one for each main role.
I think it was a design choice that had to do with the overall story of doctor manhattan giving humanity more advanced tecnhology that they ever had before.
This is an alternate history. After Dr. Manhattan appeared, History went in a different direction. Even before. The Comedian assassinated JFK, Manhattan won the Viet Nam war for the Americans, Richard Nixon served 4 terms, fashions were different, kids read pirate comics instead of superhero comics because there were real superheros, the cars were electric, and tobacco was smoked in those weird pipes, I guess to cool the gas before it got into the lungs. Quite an imagination, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
I dislike Laurie overall behaviour and personality, even if I concede that she is just a normal girl forced on a life she didn't want, I still find her pretty irritating. But I have to admit she was very kind and understanding with our poor Daniel Dreiberg with his ED, not many women on her situation would act that way.
triggerblade 98 gets the awesomeness prize for his Dr. Girlfriend reference!!!! XD Venture Brothers is every bit as outstanding of a cartoon/parody in the animation genre as Watchmen is to the super heroes/comic book genre. They should be in Marylin Vos Savant's later editions of her self help books, she had a list of tv shows guaranteed to not insult your intelligence, but foster your learning processes.
I love this motion comic but I wish they had left in ALL the dialogue. I am sure they had good reasons for dropping some of it but it would just be more complete with all of it included.
I'm listening to the motion comic while also reading the comic and most of the other chapters so far Im fine having to read the few lines they skipped but this one skips alot more.
12:45 *gasps in Watchmen Season 1, Episode 5* You mean Veidt came up with Nostalgia before it was on the show?!?! I'm amazed at the depth of the writing staff knowing the source material that well!!
Nostalgia in the comic is a perfume tho. But yeah, the show's writer have really done their research. For example, Veidt listens to reggae in the show because at one point in the comic he says that he likes Jamaican music
These really are astonishingly well done. That was the most tasteful, and meaningful sex scene i've ever seen. (spoiler alert) Suck on that one, Hollywood.
8:24 - 8:27 is that supposed to be a reflection of Dreiberg or is it someone watching him? The remainder of the chapter doesn't show anyone else, but it looks like the reflection has a fedora where Dreiberg was not wearing anything on his head.
I really like these motion comics but I really wish they had a female voice actor for the female roles and child roles...this guys is ok but it takes me out of the story when I hear every female in the book has a ridiculous amount of Bass in their voice
I see why they cut most of this out of the movie. Just character development that wasn't relevant to the overall plot. Also made her seem less like a whore in the movie. They give you good reasons to hate almost all the females in the comic.
While watching this motion comics, I start to compare Laurie to Sally Hawkins's character in The Shape of Water, she's so emotionally rich, so much grit, if only they did that justice in the movie.
I'm watching the view count decrease as the chapters continue. Seems so odd. Once the series started, one must finish it. Keeps getting better and better.
Exactly, it tells you people get lazy or not very interested.
It is just the way things go. By default, you will never get increased view count, so it has to goes down as chapters progress.
not much people can stomach the existential anguish this series presents
Laurie's voice scared them away.
probably they freaked out watching the last episode, even the psyhco-analyst become mad
This is my favorite chapter. Nite Owl was my favorite character in Watchmen.
"I think we should spring Rorshach."
"What?"
LOL! Best dialogue in the chapter.
Everybody involved with this should be very proud.

How is he cheesy? Just Batman with goggles and without logo, and in present time fat
Don't you know all the voices are made by the same person? that's a lot of good work and proffesionalism in my opinion.
Professionalism for who though? The voice actor? sure. I don't think the average person could tell it's the same person until Laurie talks for the first time.
But for the people producing the entire product? Most motion comics tend to have more than one voice actor.
Lol, I was gonna say that is so odd how women characters are voices from men, but now I understand. Really good job, but why though
@@marianapena654 It does throw me a bit when Laurie speaks. But I appreciate the creator's efforts.
Nite Owl was probably the only real superhero of the group as he always stood for doing the right thing even if it's hard
The justice sense of Nite Owl is 8/10. Rorschach is 10/10!
He wanted Dr. Manhattan girlfriend he just as flaw.
+Sophia Wilson everyone's flawed it's mostly about who does more good
maybe you answer this question this world of Watchmen is it alter earth of DC comics like the pre crisis earths or post crisis? I read it alter timeline but there is no Batman or Superman in this earth.
"never compromise, even in the face of Armageddon"
-Rorschach
I've been watching the whole commic 5 times per year in average since 2008
This is the story about a man with a very vivid imagination reading a comic while talking to himself.
Thats fine work and animation. Mind blown..

Pretty cool the way Nite Owls mask was like an Aztec jaguar or Eagle warriors mask/helmet
This chick was such a tease she knew what she was doing. Lol
There's a coffee machine?!
A PERFECT DISMOUNT

Thank You for this upload! The Watchmen rocked my world 30 years ago. Watching this still does
Psshh, more like Flaccid Owl
Too bad there isn't a score available. The music is FANTASTIC! Top notch!
24:50 is an exceptional delivery by the narrator, had me dying

It's just one man making all the voices. It's a reflection of how a kid would read this comic.
