I'm a member of Front Sight, and after this bankruptcy, I will absolutely refuse to be associated with the new company. If Ignatius Piazza is involved, they will just cancel my membership again though another bankrupcy, and take all my money.
They get the curriculum when they purchase the assets. And if they integrate the current staff, they inherit their experience with said curriculum. Pyramid scheme perhaps, but they had their act together for training. Been there 14 times for most of their shooting platforms and ALWAYS had a good experience. I think the most popular will be the simple $200 membership and then a per day based on how often you can get there. They and the public are both looking for the "sweet spot" for what they will offer vs. what we are willing to pay. They also have a small airstrip they could develop on property....hmmm. Thanks for the update and info
Life Member upgraded to Director, but due to cancer etc… I never got to use it and just today discovered about the scandal / bankruptcy. My gut always felt Ignatius Piazza was a snake-oil salesman notwithstanding the many excellent instructors, staff, and members. There is no such thing as something for nothing. Life lesson.
I'm a/was frontsight Life member, have not been out there for a while do to life changes and just learned about the bankruptcy, thus out of the loop, they Offered great services and enjoyed my times out there. I learned alot about shooting more than anywhere else, but I always thought the business model was shaky at best, and the whole thing was too ambitious for its own good. Its a real damn shame its over, I least have memories and skills left over from it.
hmmm, so PF is based in texas near piazza, uses a goofy special target system and will purchase everything, sell memberships and want to develop rv camping...but without current "lifetime" FS members. I can't be the only one who sees the obvious going on here.
In an interview with Bill Wilson the PF CEO that Piazza will not have anything to do with PF, no decision power, no impute, nothing to do with PF, can't even come and visit... shot on sight?? Can you smell what Ignatius is cooking!?!
I'm not a lawyer but I believe if the plan isn't voted for one alternative could be that the assets are liquidated and the creditors are paid out from the proceeds.
This blows my mind. How did Nache manage to bankrupt the largest and most successful Firearms facility on the planet.. with billionaire investors.. seriously
Dr P is smarter/craftier than all the members and staff put together lol, well except maybe for that one guy who took 98 classes in the 15 months immediately preceding the pandemic shutdowns and mastered handgun, shotgun, and carbine platforms with a
If the current plan is rejected and PrairieFire does not acquire Front Sight what does the bankruptcy court do with Front Sight? Does the court shut down the facility and sell the property to pay off creditors?
Frontsight's website is still active, so that means people are buying memberships RIGHT NOW! Crazy. What I want to know is, what happens if you go take a course RIGHT NOW, before the new rules go into effect? Also, for 2023 and 2024 we have free membeship, right? So, do we still pay for courses at $250/day or $500/day? What is the point of a membership if you are paying a huge fee for each course? Where's the discount?
That's a great name for a company going bankrupt. IYKYK. . . . . (If you don't know, "prairie fire" was the code phrase used for a distress call during the Vietnam War. Teams in contact that were being overwhelmed by enemy forces would call "Prairie fire!" over the radio to get close air support and emergency evacuation. I mostly know it from reading books about Green Beret/Special Forces troops and MACV-SOG teams, but it might have been used by conventional troops/"regular Army" too.)
It was more like a Ponzi scheme because Piazza would sell you membership multipliers for cash. You have a "Level 1" membership? For $1000 he will upgrade you to "Level 2" and give you 10 "Level 1" memberships to give away or sell to others. You have a "Level 2" membership? For $2000 he will upgrade you to "Level 3" and give you 30 "Level 1" memberships to give away or sell to others. And so on. I knew of one guy who had something like 10,000 memberships to hand out or sell (in theory). In fact, so many other people had dozens or hundreds of memberships to sell. The basic laws of supply and demand caused memberships to be greatly devalued

Sad I never used my 2-day Front Sight defensive hand gun or shotgun certificate.
Sad money in for whole family and grandkids. Now , I may loose the whole package.
Face it, we've been screwed.
Seems like more of the same. I'm skeptical that any of that will happen.
If new company will not honor existing memberships, they can't be trusted.
I'm just learning about this now after FrontSight changed their Facebook logo and name. So my lifetime membership is bunk?

Probably...
That’s too bad :( I’ve always wanted to go there
Looks like it's been bought by PraireFire in Dec 2022. Bill Wilson at the helm

Yes, it’s still active, but last class I saw is 11/18/2022
Fee is $200 per day until April, when the official reopening occurs.
I was a commander . Not anymore I guess
No you weren't
Sounds like a big scam and waste of money, yet again.
Can you still use your Front Sight lifetime membership? This new company is hard to reach. Nobody answers any calls lol.
....Tx based? Prairie Fire? Q Academy?
Any chance we could anticipate John Kennedy as one of the instructors?
Q is fake

As of today (6/15/23) the classes offered are not that impressive.
At least FS had lots of varied and interesting classes
Where are you?
What’s going on with your left eye?
Weird angle + nearsighted lens distortion.
