Unfortunately it’s not as straight forward with windows :/ you can find the SF fonts online for sure (maybe even the ones from the official website work) but I’m not sure the symbols will show up. For the symbols I think there might be some icon libraries of them on the Figma community so worthy searching there! ☀️
When I click to search for an asset nothing comes up. The design file is published to my team and it's added in my new design file. Are you not able to do this anymore?
If you have multiple libraries on one file there is a drop down at the top of the assets panel now that allowed you to select which one you are searching in. I hope that solves it! ☀️🙏🏼
@@TDSunshineya I’m using the drop down and it’s still not showing up in search. Other users are experiencing the same thing so looks like it’s a bug that figma hasn’t fixed yet.
Coming from Sketch, it seems odd having to duplicate the file into your own project and publish it from there. Does that mean if Apple updates the library I have to go through that same process again?
Thank you for sharing 🎉 also love all your Figma 2023 updates tutorials. I was at that conference last week in San Fransisco and was blown away by all the new features. We can do so much now with just a few screens and a little logic.
@TDSunshine this is amazing! Super noob question here coming from a developer who's learning Figma: At 4:39 when you said you "gathered" together some components...does that mean you created a new frame called "Demo" in "Components" page? I'm guessing this "Demo" frame is far away from the other frames that Apple used to encapsulate components. And then you simply copied and pasted components from the main frames to your "Demo" frame? And because you copied and pasted the components, that implicitly means that you're copying instances instead of the parent component?
Thanks! Yes exactly correct! If you look on the left panel at 4:46 you can see they are all empty purple diamonds which indicates they are instances 🙏🏻☀️💛
@@TDSunshineExactly what I needed to know, thank you! And I know how the icon next to "Demo" is a section (not a frame)! So I'm guessing you always use sections when "grouping elements for presentation"? That's the best way I can describe it now from where I'm at in my journey.
Hey! I go through drop downs a little in this video - *Language change with variables* - ua-cam.com/video/X5arGNpdXS0/v-deo.html Also about to start a new design system series and I will be making a dropdown component there too so keep a look out 👀💛
thanks for your content sharing. May I ask a question? when using the Apple Design resources UI kit to design my own project, should i keep the size and points of all UI components the same as the original resources assets? or the size and points can be adjusted dynamically? but I am not sure what sizes and points should fit for the great user interface design. thanks very much.
great question! if you are designing a mobile app for iOS then try to change as little as possible about the components. You may need to adjust widths to fit into your screen size, so for this I recommend using the Frames provided by Figma for different iPhone sizes and remembering to always maintain a 16px margin between the frame and your designs. If you are using these components to design something other than an iOS app you can make more changes but still I would keep them as close to the original as possible. iOS users are familiar and used to these components as they are natively used across the phones OS and many different apps, so sometimes even a small change can be confusing to a user.
ugh I know! there are some good ones in the Figma community but no official ones :/ I think there may have been some in the official sketch file might be worth checking 🙏🏻☀️
Hi, firstly thank you for useful lesson, i have a question. My operation system is windows. How can i use sf symbols on Figma? Have a nice day.

ThAnk you so much for this video,
Can you please make a video for window’s users how can we use srf symbols in window ?
Great question! I believe there are some files on the Figma community that have a full set of SF icons so worth checking that out! ☀️🙏🏻
This was super helpful. God bless you.
You're welcome! ☀️🙏🏻
This was awesome and super helpful. Thank you!
You’re welcome! 🙏🏼☀️
As an iOS developer just getting into designing ui for iOS, I find this super helpful. Thanks a lot.

Yeah it does sadly :/ that’s a small downside about the way Figma’s community files work 🤷🏽♀️
@@TDSunshine Got it thanks. Been having a blast getting into Figma today. If only there were plus-lighter/darker blend modes it’d be perfect 🥺
vision & sonoma also updated!!
🎉🎉

I could ask you for help to make dropdowns in a design system, please!
