Heard this beauty, this morning.
The type of noise that makes you want to make a permanent switch to classical music.
Breath taking .
Well, there's a place for all types of music but, yes, your point is well taken - classical music is a richer experience simply because a lot more goes into the creation of a single piece of classical music than does, say, go into a rock-n-roll song, or a ballad, etc. Now, extend this idea of "permanent switch" that you suggest to thinking in general: there are billions of believers in the world who make decisions based on nothing deeper than "belief", by which I mean, the basis for their decisions in life is not logical or reasonable: it's just some idea that they got into their heads and they accept it without any critical, or analytical, thinking. Imagine what a culture of education could do for these people - a great number of them would make the "permanent switch" of which you speak, and move from superstition and belief to the brighter and deeper world of reason. Edvard Grieg would be there to welcome those folks - metaphorically speaking - when their truck rolled in! Safe travels, always.

Beautiful performance...one of the most exciting "In the Hall of the Mountain King"s ever!
Prachtige uitvoering!
My father used to play Peer Gynt's CD on saturday mornings. I miss him.
He misses you too.
Perfectly done
This masterpiece is the number two , after his "sublime" Concierto para Piano and Orchestra.

I always imagine a castle on top of a hill in the distance with the sun shining
Wonderfull! It's a great conductor!
Totalmente.
Stirring, magnificent music. The Death of Ase is so incredibly moving.
Such a beautiful rendition of Death of Aase, it may be my favourite.
I heard the last track a couple of times but I could never get a name for it. That same song was present in Fallout 4's Classic FM.
At last I could track it down. Such a great composition, totally love it.
Celestial music !! 👋👋👋

Perfeito!
0:51 - Opening the window to happiness.
excellent
The Concertgebouw radiates energy-rays of Beauty into the city of Amsterdam..... and everybody there on the streets is wondering: "Why is the sun shining suddenly? What a beautiful atmosphere here!"
I only listen for the coughs in between movements. This piece doesn't disappoint. Damn you people !!!
Would you rather they cough DURING the movement, or get it out in between pieces?
@@austinmccoy9743 it is bored people coughing who should not be there, spoiling it for everyone else. They cough during the music, too.

Hail The Mountain King ! , wonderfull just amazing
Otta Tausk made his way to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as Conductor. Pity with Covid that they cannot have regular performances.

super !!!!!
you sweet, thanks very much. you just made my day :)
Not a first-class performance, but the tone of flute sounds really beautiful.
I found!! The song is called Ocean of Light, by In Mood feat. Juliette
Sublime og evig skjønnhet...
wonderful playing and music. Pity that some members of the audience cannot refrain from coughing, esp in the quietest parts.
What an outstanding performance! In his review of Grieg's 1903 return Paris concert, Debussy betrayed his bitter resentment of the still beloved composer's 4-year boycott of France in protest over the injustice of the Dreyfuss affair - feeling Grieg had insulted France. Mixing rather snide backhanded compliments with grudging praise and even mocking Grieg's personal appearance, Debussy still had to concede this work is ingenious. On that point, I agree. (I still love Debussy, and so did Grieg.)
Ah nationalism, what a harmonious and productive practice.
Conducting an orchestra with a hot spotlight shining down on you would be about as laborious as using a shifting spanner when changing a car tyre, when you think about it.
esta asombroso

8:07 poor kid was trying to hold it in until they started playing again
almost like the conductor waited for that lol
I have heard an adoption of this music "00:00-03:53 was the theme" around 1995. It was a disco version with lyrics and a girl sang the song. Can anybody remember who were they?
I think the audio on this is outstanding and I applaud the engineers - the quality, the depth, everything is wonderful 10/10. But the visuals must have been made by someone who wasn’t watching the performance - they are terrible. There is no sense of following the music, no showing the building of a section. Instead we get strange frames of the conductor and even stranger shots, albeit sparsely intersecting the main shot of the entire orchestra, of individuals, the framing of which completely misses their finger work. 1/10.

Absolutely spot on …. At 13:54 through 14: 00 his mom was probably on the phone …..

Yes, very nice rendition! I'm really enjoying this for 99%. One percent deduction for the single violin whose entry is way too early in Ase's Death at 5:26, which ruined my goosebump-moment a little bit.
I'm pretty sure it was the concertmaster
